Looks like I'll never get to meet anyone. I work for AmerenUE, your friendly(?) electric utility in the customer service dept as a group leader. I'm union and we follow senority for shift selection. I have been there for 22 years and am still low man, so I have the crappy shift Yes, I'm the one that gets the not-so-nice people that the reps can't handle. Unfortunately, I have to man my phone and answer policy questions from the reps from 10:30 am until 7pm M-F. I then come home to cook dinner for the wife and kid. Sooo..........maybe next time.

Hey guys! Ok, so I haven't completely fallen off the face of the Earth... Now that my son is a little older, I think I'll be able to get out more than I have been. I don't get to check the site as often as I used to (I think it's been at least 2-3 months since I've been on), so please send me an e-mail (Phil???) when the next weekend event occurs.

Hey everyone,
I was reading today in the Post that eagle watching will be back up and running in January. Apparently, Pere Marquette Park over in Illinois is a great place to watch. I've never been eagle watching in STL (I did see a bunch in Alaska last summer, they were very cool). but I hear its fun.
How about Sunday, Jan 8th - meet at Fast Eddies for lunch (11:30 AM) and then head over to Pere Marquette for some eagle watching?

Forecast for Sunday, Jan 8th from weather.com: Partly cloudy. Highs in the low 50s and lows in the mid 30s. Sounds nice.
I also checked greatriverroad.com/Eagles/eagleViews.htm: "Bald Eagles can be spotted in the Marina area, which is across the Great River Road from the Lodge and the Visitor Center. "
Head count?

Wife & I found a babysitter - 2.
Is F.E.B.A. open @ 11:30 (never been there that early).
Do you think it would be a good idea to add another thread w/ the announcent/directions?

Just checked the website and FA opens at 11. 11:30's about the latest you can get there on a Saturday and get a table. Don't know about Sundays but it can't hurt.
In terms of another thread, not sure where else we'd put it, but go ahead if you can think of a place to post this.
Just for effect, we ought to all park in the lot to the east of the place, there's probably room for a bunch of us to park together and get some good photos.

Alright people... I'll be there, probably with a couple of friends. I may not be able to check the BB much after this morning because my network at home is down.
Not sure how I'll find you - here's my cell # (314) 650-9460.
If you're there and we're not finding each other, give me a call.
David
PS here's my picture from the post self pics thread.

(Not going to wear the same clothes to fast eddies)

Hey spds, not sure if you got my PM. But I'll try and meet you about 10:30am tomorrow at the "4-0" gas station in Troy, located at the intersection of Hwy 40 and Troy-Scott Rd.

I can't believe that only three of us want to watch the eagles (and take a little road trip). Well I'm pretty excited about it. If anyone else is thinking about going...then GO!
I washed my car and detailed the inside today.
Let's just hope the birds are out. They should be.
See you all at 11:30.

Great seeing / meeting all of you. And the weather was amazing.
In case anybody who wasn't there ever wants to do the eagle watching thing - there seemed to be a lot more of them just out of Alton (just West of it on the river road) than all the way up to the Brussels Ferry. We saw tons of them on the way back towards Alton.

I live in Memphis and the "club" scene here is non-existant. I'd like to see what is going on up in St. Louis (about a 4 hour drive) and possilby participate in a few events if the timing is right. I have tried to get something going around here but...
