Anyone here run coilovers?
I am going to be ordering some coilovers and I'm trying to decide on spring rates.
It will be daily driven but I do plan to AutoX sometime in the future when I have time.
I know some people like the koni yellow set up with proper springs. It was an option I was going to take, but helping out at a shop has it's benefits and I am given a chance to try out a new line for the 8 that has great reviews as a brand.
Any feed back would be great. I am able to choose my own spring rate setup, but if I didn't choose, it looks like it comes with 10k front, 6k rear.
Thanks guys.

Could be good, could be bad. It depends on what you want out of them. From a performance perspective they'd have to perform at the same level as KW v3's to be better than koni's and springs. I only really looked at coilovers from a track performance perspective though.
If you can get them cheap or free, why not give it a shot. FWIW I was planning on buying ohlins if i had kept the car.

I actually started a thread about them a while back about their 500 series. Not bad for a lower priced coilover. Customer service is supposed to be good with them as well. The Dreadnoughts get good reviews but they didn't offer them for the RX8 at the time. They use selectable rate Swift springs on those as well. Not sure about the 500 series though. I just wished I was able to get a good set of KW3's for my car for what you pay for a set on an RX8.

I think there are a couple people with their eyes on those koni's including myself. I believe everyone is short on funds right now so I guess they will go to whoever can get monies together the quickest.

Wife's car came with a set of BC Racing coilovers. As far as I know they had the standard spring rate (not sure what that is). They were too stiff even for my tastes. I swapped them for a set of Tokicos with Racing Beat springs. That was too soft although she likes it except for the bottoming leaving our driveway with anyone in the back seat. I have now obtained a set of the next-lower rate springs from BC and will be putting those on the car my next time home.

Thanks for all the info guys
I'm going to have to sit down and think about this one, as one of the main reasons I considered getting the FA coils is because it would help EnduranceMotorsports' sales if someone affiliated with the shop is running them.
But as Fuz pointed out, the deal I'm getting on these is pretty significant so I might just bite the bullet, as these aren't like the Megan's or Basic Tein's lol

Thanks for the koni. can't wait for the installation!
Depending on our springs/shocks installing exparts, aka Fuz, the current plan is to have another "Working on RX-8 Party" on Sunday Oct 21st.
I'll get some food and if anyone needs to do any work, join us. I got plenty of drive way.
(we should be able to work on at least 4 or 5 cars at the same time)

On another note i just bought a harmon motive downpipe for the Sti, now I just have to get a damn accessport since the car is so damn sensitive to changes.

Let me know if you're interested in the KW3's they are literally just sitting in their box in my apartment under some clothes lol. I was thoroughly impressed with how the KW3's handled, it turned the 8 into a significantly better car over the stocks I was running before. I ran them mostly in the street and did one autocross with them. They were the only reason I almost didn't sell my 8, since I liked the setup so much.

I had to work this morning and didn't make it to the fuel...
btw, does anyone have recommendation on where and what to get to work on our brakes.
all previous car i had i worked on only needed big C-clamp to pus the caliper back. but never needed to to have brake tool to twist/push back (like our rear caliper). I don't need anything high quality, but something that will last for several brake change.
