It should be the usual 3-4 months, unless my relief (who is a heavy smoker) decides not to come back due to the new Draconian measures the company is putting into place as of the first of the year.

How about a 2002 Vanquish for 40k? Doesn't seem unbelievable at all. Or a 91 NSX with <100k miles? Or a Quattraporte with 50k miles for 27k?I really shouldn't be looking at dream cars. Too bad I can't find a GT-R for 40k

Hey guys, long time since I've been on but I need help from the local mazda crowd........
I have a 2007 CX7 (2.3 mzr disi) that will need likely to be tuned, anyone able help? My turbo took a dump, so I had to order a new one, as well as a downpipe to replace the first catalyst that burnt up on me. I have a feeling I will need a tune to compensate and to eliminate the code for the catalyst... Can anyone help? I have no tuning equip, and really no money but I'd make it right with whoever helped me out. Just lost the RX8 in a divorce to my sociopath ex wife, and racked up $20k in attorney fees. No kids, lost everything, the bitch is gone time to celebrate....
Mods are Protege Garage reworked K04 turbo, Corksport Downpipe, Corksport SRI/TIP, Forge BPV.
PM me your number if you think you could help me out, and I'll give you a call.
Thanks!

You can't tune a Mazda ECU as it stands. Your best/cheapest option would be a Cobb AccessPort (if available for your vehicle). I have one on my Speed6 and it works well. I would recommend getting in touch with Cobb directly to see what they have, or find a CX-7 forum and see what they recommend.

Now you all have got me looking for a daily driver with >25mpg. That and trying to avoid the winter in the rx8. Here are my selections so far, you all get to tell me how stupid I am for looking at some of these:
2000 Accord, 140k miles, $2995
2002 Acura RSX, 200k miles, $3800
2002 Acura RSX, 122k miles, Local dealership is pricing it at $2,995 I think?
1998 Prelude, No mileage listed, $4000
1996 Prelude, 5k after engine rebuild, $4200
2000 Civic EX, 139k miles, $2700
1997 Miata, No mileage listed, $3500
1999 Miata, 130k miles, $3500
And a couple more fun options:
2003 Honda Accord, 142k miles, $6,250
2007 Mazda 3i, 51k miles, $6500
2004 Pontiac GTO, 83k miles, $10,995

Sounds interesting but I have to head to Dayton for a funeral.
Btw, I ordered some winters for the 135. RFTs aren't good below 45 degrees I found out. Too much torque and they break away too easy.

It's not your average Caddy Steve. Look up 1SG and you'll see what I mean. This car has a Corsa catback, Volant intake, E&G grill, GM accessory tails clear bra etc. It's kind of a sleeper, an STS-V withouth the supercharger and Brembo's basically. Car was a special fleet vehicle from Cadillac originally. It has 66 options on it, (all but two = the Brembo brakes and six lug wheels). I like it a lot.

Thanks, I decided I wanted a full size performance sedan, and this is the closest I'll come to any kind of SUV or minivan, just in case of any future kids LOL.
Seriously though, I just couldn't see owning an S8, 7-series or S-class out of warranty. I couldn't afford to maintain that and this car is surprisingly nimble given it's size as it has ZF steering and Magnetic Ride control, it corners absolutely flat for a big car. The 6-spd. auto is the best I have ever driven. It lays 20 foot tracks with the T/C off and sounds awesome when you punch it.![Ylsuper](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/ylsuper.gif)
It's no sports car.
...but I still have "big red" as well.

Well I can't see James' new acquisition since I'm back to work and they have "improved" our Internet yet again. The wife likes the CTS-V (naturally), I wouldn't mind one except for the cost. She wants something bigger than the Speed for long trips which it seems we will be doing more and more.

Your not missing much Chief, just my big grandpa hauler.
Like the CTS-V but need something bigger?

I honestly was considering buying this...
but I talked myself out of it.

I don't consider the Caddy on that level, but it's still a solid daily driver.

That's a very nice car James. I found it funny that in the ad you posted, there were no engine pictures. Guess not many enthusiasts drive those? In any event, I sent the link to Robyn and told her I'd buy her one of those, we'll see what she says. The Speed would have to go though.

Mike, honestly I would only buy one with the 1SG option and 2WD like mine. When you find a STS4, most will have the 1SG Performance package, but also 3-4 hundred lbs more to lug around. In a car this big, AWD is unnecessary IMO.
I took it to work for the first time today and am averaging 24 mpg in mostly highway driving so it's not too bad on gas. The LH2 longitudinal Northstar's are much improved over the old ones. Their beefier and have VVT and such so you benefit from all the last of technology before they went away in 2011.
Good news is that if you look around you can find them cheap, as the market is not there for these like CTS's. It amazes me that I bought my car for 11k, and that early 2000's CTS's with more miles go for more. I can't figure that one out but ok. They are both on the Sigma platform.
Things to look for when looking are the wheels... If the car came std. with the 18" wheels, then it's a 1SG option. Keep in mind, only 20% of STS's sold came with the V8, and probably 20% or less than that have the 1SG.
Here is one I would jump on, as it has the Brembo's and the owner took very well care of it. It was out of my price range, but well worth it. It is the only car I have seen in NA with the Brembo's.
He tried to get me to buy it, but I just couldn't go to his price, but it's an awesome ride. here it is. Pay attention to the brakes and 6-lug wheels. They're different than mine.
