So the Street Life Tour is this weekend, any news on where people are meeting and such? I'm on the fence about going now since this is also my move-in weekend at Ohio State. But if there's a good anticipated Rx-8 showing / Mazda showing like at Sonic's I would definately be down to go.

Xander: I haven't had any issues with mine. I'd offer to help, but I have a ton going on for the next few weeks at lease.
Redsun: There looks to be a pretty big group of sevens and a couple 8's going from the OhioRotaries site. I'm trying to get them to pick a place and time to meet before so we can go as a group. I've suggested Rotary Park at about 10:30am which is where the last rotary meet was you went to.
I'll keep everyone up to date here once things are confirmed.

Chief: good luck and Congrats. You'll have to post some pics if you get it. I think i'd have to sell the 8 to get a miata, so it's out for the time being. I might have some speed3/6 questions for you in the future. My wife has settled on getting a speed 3 and it may be happening more sooner than later.

After looking closely at all the pictures taken by the inspection service, I'm going to pass on this Miata. As much as I love the color and accessories, there is just too much rust underneath for me to deal with. Low miles but they obviously drove it in the winter without washing the undercarriage.
No problem on the questions. I'm not an expert by any means but I can tell you what I know.

For those interested in going to the Street Life Tour:
We're meeting between 10 and 10:30 AM on saturday morning. Meeting spot is Rotary Park Map It's only a few miles from Kil-Kare, so we can all roll in to the show together.
The show doesn't start until 1 PM, but there was a huge line to get in last year so we're heading up early.
There are 20 spots in the show reserved for us and I think we'll be pretty close to having them full. This means that there should be a pretty good rotary turn out. I know there are some other mazda folks going up that were at the meet a couple weekends ago. SLT info here
Since we'll be there early, we're taking some stuff to grill and eat so we aren't stuck with just the concession stand there. There should be plenty of food to go around. There's not a lot of shade, so bring some water to keep hydrated.

If you are coming and want to park with the rest of the RX vehicles, you must register for the show. It's $25 vs $20 for the general admin. If you are not registered, they will make you park in the general admission parking. It takes 2 minutes to register. Here's a direct link:

Don't worry that your car isn't a show car. We're just there to represent the rotary.

WTH, been posting them everywhere else!
Gave her a bath this morning, along with an under-hood stickerectomy. Found the wiper arms on the wrong side and the tires pressures high and all different. That speaks to the strangeness I experienced driving it home. Next up, new hoses to replace all the yellow (!) stuff under the hood. The wheels are getting a color change, I'm thinking polished lip with maybe bronze centers.

They are similar, this is Mahogany Mica which is a bit brighter than Black Cherry Mica. The wife said I should call it MiniMe after seeing them side by side, but that ain't happeing. Haven't gotten my travel arrangements for next week yet but I am hoping to be at Fuel this week. If all goes well without the hideous yellow hoses currently residing in my engine bay.

I'll post an engine bay picture once I get the hoses replaced, it looks pretty bad right now with yellow all over. Supercharger is a Jackson Racing unit, not sure yet which model (it's older so probably the M45). Suspension is Bilstein coilovers which ride pretty nicely, and Jackson Racing front/rear sways. I am going to try and find a front strut bar that will work with the supercharger, but I'm definitely getting a set of Boss Frog Frog Arms next time home.
After seeing how coilovers can ride, I may just keep the BC Racing ones for the 8 and fiddle with them.

No intercooler (yet anyway!). I have confirmed the blower is the M45 unit, max boost I have seen is 5 psi. I have to measure the pulleys to find out what I am supposed to be making, I have a lot of other things going on so that's kind of on the back burner. The papers I have don't say which model of Bilstein are on the car, I'm collecting fluids to do a full swap so when I am under there I will see if there are any markings on the units.
In addition to the SC, the car has the JR upgraded fuel pump and boost retard module.
It's funny, I wasn't really planning on doing much, but should have known myself better. I already have a short list of things to improve. Such is life!
