Arrow 1st Annual ROTOR JAM on 7/13/2008

Hello Everyone,

Here is an update to the NEW event. After the event fell through at Englishtown's Raceway park, i began scrambling trying to find us a location in such a short period of time.

A viable option was Governors Island in NYC, but due to the location and Ferry operations it would be a nightmare logistically speaking to get cars on and off the island. Therefore I contacted the location where ROTORFEST was held previously; ISLAND DRAGWAY.

I have discussed this and reserved the location for Sunday July 13, 2008 @ 11:00AM.

LOCATION: ISLAND DRAGWAY

DATE: JULY, 13TH 2008 (7/13/2008)

ADDRESS: 20 ISLAND ROAD, GREAT MEADOWS, NJ, 07838

TIME: 11:00AM

PRICE: $10 per person (TRACKS PRICE)

ROTOR JAM CAR SHOW: $TBD (Contact Chris M if you are interested in participating. The price of car show admission varies with the number of participants.)

FOOD VENDOR: On site provided by the track. NO BBQing allowed (sorry)
* You can bring your own food/drinks as long as it doesn’t require a grill.

MERCHANDISE VENDORS: You must contact Chris M if you would like to become a vendor for the event (Tshirts. Merchandise, etc).

SWAP MEET: If you have some parts you want to move your more than welcome to sell them from the hatch/trunk of your car. (Vendors need to contact Chris M)

DRAG RACING TIME: 5:00-6:00PM

DRAG RACING COST $TBD (estimated between $15-$20 per vehicles)

EVENT STAFF: Contact me or John (john64) if you would like to participate.

CARAVANS: Will be posted up shortly. Caravans leaving from NY, CT, and NJ

DO's:

1) Tents
2) Portable Chairs
3) Portable Tables
3) Bring your own FOOD/DRINKS (No alcohol)
4) Dogs (on leashes)
5) Clean up after yourself
6) Bring SUNBLOCK or SUNTAN based on your preference.

DONTS:

1) Reckless Driving (donuts, burnouts (on grass lol)
2) NO BBQing
3) NO loose dogs/cats, must be leashed
4) NO Alcohol
5) Driving Fast (5mph)
6) Littering

*We will be setting up the caravans from NY/CT/NJ like we always do. Details will follow shortly.

*I will also post up directions to the racetrack from the main aertierals. For supplemental directions check out Islands website at http://islanddragway.com/directions.html

I know it’s not the BEST location but it’s familiar and well priced. Sorry for the inconvenience and delay; next year will go over more smoothly.

Best Regards,

Jason NYC/CT

So same place under new name/management. It's not bad for a first year. Really, it might make the transition easier as people can recycle their travel plans from last year. Then, the management will have a major meet under their belt with a better plan for launching RotorJam2.

From Central Mass, thats about 230 miles one way. I'm thinking about Leading a caravan from Central Mass either early that morning, or the night before if i can find a cheap enough hotel close to the drag strip, PM me with possible meet locations and such.

Lets rep MA with a big caravan!

Sweet.. I already know where it is lol.. Sucks but at the same time take a head count, you know there will be TONS of photo's taken, so next year you can go to whereva and say "listen this is what I brought to a tiny drag way.. imagine if I had your place to get people to come?".

Guess me and GreenBlur will get ourselves situated to run the MA/New England leg of a caravan going, atleast for the 8's. Last year no 7's bit at my attempt of a caravan going down I-95.

Hmm Chris you better be contacting a fellow bald headed 8 owner and see if he cares to stop by to promote himself
