Well talked to my suga momma and she said her daughters b-day is on the 15th and she usually has it her b-day party the following Saturday. She is interested in this trip though alot so she said come the time for the trip she'll see what she can do either doing the b-day party the weekend before or not. I hope she will 'cause I think she'll enjoy the entire weekend trip with all of us. small possiblity of us taking her kids (5 and 6 well 7 by the time the tirp happens) so I may be in the slow group lol.. and anyone says I'd be in it anyways bite me!! I got the speeding ticket now to prove otherwise lmfao!!

11 mph in a 10 mph school zone. Thats why the ticket was expensive. Not because of actual speed.

On a more serious note I have an update on hotels. I have not yet been able to see any pictures of these establishments so I am not sure what we should choose. Lil'RedShinka also did some research and will be posting her results soon as well.

Please let me know the price range/accomodations everyone is comfortable with.

Thanks!

We currently have rooms available at the:

Lake Placid Summit Hotel
2375 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid
Olympic Arena 1 Miles 2.0 USD $ 80.00

Spruce Lodge Bed & Breakfast & Guest Cottage
6034 Sentinel Road, Lake Placid
Adirondack Park 2.0 USD $ 58.00

Comfort Inn Lake Placid
2125 Saranac Ave, Lake Placid
USD $ 127.00

Remember, rates and availability are not guaranteed until the rooms have been booked.

When you are ready to secure these rooms, or if I can be of any further assistance, please call me.

I look forward to assisting your group.

I checked out the hotels, personally visiting each one. (From above, in Google Earth) Neither of them appear to need roof maintenance, so we should be dry either way. I did not look at the B+B . . . for 58 bucks, I'm willing to get dripped on.

Jokes aside, $80 seems very reasonable. I could live with $127 also. Hell, its only one night. Put me down as happy with whatever the majority chooses.

^ I agree. $80 is fine. Unless there's a Motel6 or one of those other cheapo types, it's not going to be much cheaper.

yeah, I'd rather avoid the $127 fare, but anything less than $90 is fine.

Is the price per room? If the quoted rooms have 2 beds, I am open to sharing the room with someone. Could be looking at $40 for the night, not bad at all.

Myself in terms of bringing the new girl wont be locked int till possibly that month, its her daughters b-day that week and she usualy has her party that weekend (forget if I said it already to lazy to check), but she showed interest and said she may MAY think about having it the weekend before (she's awsome!).

$80 per room is a steal in my eyes $127 room better have a nice jacuzzi and my girl coming for me to spend that much for one night lol. I will most likely have a new job by then so considering a act of god I will be on this trip, if I'm lucky I'll have my rims on (trip to PA and this speeding ticket drained the funds a bit grrr).

Price is per room and I believe they were quoted with doubles. If there are any special requests for a Queen... please let me know. I don't know what I can do but I will ask.

I have added some links so ppl can take a look at pictures and customer reviews. I have also added the responses I got via an online bid. My only special request is that we needed off-street parking for 25+ cars. This is something to keep in mind, especially when looking at bed & breakfasts. They don't normally have much for parking.

I know it's a little pricey for some, but the Hilton returned a bid of $120. They do require a $500 deposit and 90% usage of rooms booked. They also need a commitment no less than 30 days from dates we'll be there, but they have covered parking (they are the only ones in Lake Placid who do.)

Anyway, take a look and see what jumps out at ya. Let Drk know your preference, cuz a lot of these places require deposits and minimum 2-week reservation.

Thanks!

Thanks LIL RED!!!

YES EVERYONE PLEASE GET BACK TO ME ON YOUR PREFERENCE ASAP!

Also, I would like to come up with a way to collect monies from everyone for the deposit at least.

Then at the time of the run, you can just bring cash for the rest and I can take care of the bill that way.

You could send me money via Paypal but there are fees involved. I'm thinking cash via snail mail might work just fine. $20 from each person or even a personal check sent to me.

Please let me know what you want to do ASAP.

Thank you!

OK, here are my responses to all the posts I had to get caught up on:

alrighty looks like im in. 2 people, maybe if someone can tell me about where i could meet in nh, mass on my way down from maine.
We live in Pembroke, just South of Concord. There are a couple of 'park & Rides' off both 89 and 93 where we could hook up a meet. The best one might be the one at the end of 89 at Bow Junction. Anyone interested in meeting there, let me know and we'll figure out times for meeting and departure.

i need to talk to the father about letting me have a install and cookout at the dealership. thatd be a good mid july meet
If you're interested in having a dyno at your July meet, PM me. Month of July is open for us right now.

Dunno if this has been resolved yet, but how do folks feel about camping?
If by camping you mean four walls, indoor plumbing, cable tv, and a minibar, I'm in!!!

Well I found out yesterday that my mother can watch my boys for the weekend,so I am in with my wife as long as it is still okay for me to come with my RX-7.
It is so totally ok that you bring your RX7!!! Especially if my husband can bring either a Honda or Toyota!!! At least you are still in the Mazda family, and rotary to boot!!!

on the speeding ticket, were you going 28 in a 25 zone. I hear those autos can get up that high sometimes...
11 mph in a 10 mph school zone. Thats why the ticket was expensive. Not because of actual speed.
Clav, what can I say? You're a good sport!! Just make sure you bring a radio so you can let us know when everyone has made it through the stop signs!! (Sorry, had to get my one dig in!)

Of course I'm a good sport sides I'm a wiseass myself so no harm done lol...
And sure just remind me of my bad friggin' luck on the Bridges Run.. every damn stop sign, everyone in front of me would stop then go.. but as soon as I pulled up a solid wall of cars would apear outa nowhere that was friggin' annoying. I think I hit my roof a few times outa frustration.

Oh and lilred if your looking for sumthing for July there is Rotorfest I forget off hand who is running it but could have alot of people interested in dyno'ing their cars I wish to say its 7/7/07 a Sunday in New Jersey. Not sure if your up for that long of a trip but there were several hundred Rotaries there last year and more this year

Any hotel will do... I'll go with whatever is easier to set up for our organizers! I can send a deposit by snail mail.

I'll be coming from Montreal PQ so I hope to meet you guys in Amsterdam NY. It's a ±4 hour drive and I have to get thru the lines so I need and idea of the time at which you'll all be in Amsterdam so we can meet up.

I'll be bringing my camera and a suction cam mount so I hope to take nice shots of the whole gang passing me at WOT!

edit: I just ordered my club decals for this ...
