DRK - can you add those links to your first post?
I called Summit Hotel re: the arrival/checkin time. Basically, I was told that b/c I used a credit card to make the reservation my room would be held regardless of check in time (which is usually by 6pm). But it's def. something everyone should double check. I'm not sure on the time we'll be hitting LP, but we'll likely be cutting it close on the 6pm deadline.

What was the plan w/contact #s? IIRC the #s were removed from the xcl sheet with the intention of sending them privately later. Mendossa - are you planning on emailing that info as we get closer?

Everyone should call their hotel and just tell them they will be a "late arrival". That way they will hold your room and even if we get there before 6pm there will be no problem. All they do is wait to clean your room last IF they are pressed for time or short staffed in the early afternoon - but all the rooms are clean by 5pm so no problem for us. I travel a good bit and always use the "Late arrival" reservation just in case a plane is delayed or any one of the 100 other stupid things that make you late.
Not to belabor the point, but even if you reserved with a credit card they will sometimes give away your room if you're not there by 6pm and they have "walk-ins" in the lobby looking for a room - UNLESS you have "confirmed late arrival" in their computer next to your reservation.
Just some friendly advice - It REALLY sucks to travel all day and night then end up standing in the lobby of a hotel in East BeJesus, Brazil trying to convince a Portugese-only speaking desk clerk that you are late arriving due to the 1 cylinder Fiat (that tops out at 50 mph) that they forced you into because the whole world Hates Americans now (Thanks George W.). But I digress...
Moral - Call the hotel and tell them you will be a late arrival.

Another question about it: Do we still want to go through Lincoln Gap? We could trim 17 miles off the second day if we cut straight over to Texas Falls (but maybe Lincoln Gap is worth the extra distance?)

I'm scared...
I called the dealer this morning to get an appointment because they're replacing my taillights and center console latch and I also want them to check a noise I get coming from under the car... kinda like a belt squeaking, but it stops when I press the clutch. I know our throwout bearing is noisy and about gear rollover but... it seems a lot noisier than it was before and I'm worried I've got a shot bearing or clutch... or loose bolts.
My appointment is on the 16th. The run is 19th-20th. Ugh!
Please, please god make it so that there's nothing wrong on the car... pleeeaaase. I can see it already "we'll need to change the whole clutch kit and this and that and you'll be down 2000$ and we won't have the parts before next week".

I'm know for being "hypochondriac" about my car(s) so... let's hope that's the case
I bought like a million gizmos just for that run... camera, camera mount, radios...

Hypochondria (sometimes hypochondriasis) is the unfounded belief that one is suffering from a serious illness. Hypochondria is often associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety. Hypochondria can also be brought on by stress.

Well, I unfortunately will no longer be making this trip. My fiancee Grad school graduation is later in the day than I thought and I am sure the whole dinner with the in-laws thing will happen. I really wanted to attend this run. I suppose I will have to catch the next one. Have fun.

I love kids.. this is what i came out to today.
Thankfully I picked up some hours at another store to help build some funds for the run. Sadly now it looks like I might need that extra money for a repaint I have no friggin' good luck lately. I'll be seeing about buying one of those radio's by next week also.

I couldn't agree more! The Gap is fantastic. My father lives around those parts of the woods and I love taking that road!

OK, so I have to admit, I was following this thread for the first month... and I've just jumped back in... so pages 9-40 are WAY more then I can read...
The good news is the traditional Spring Run I do every year with the Miata's has saddly not gotten off the ground this year. But that means I'm open for this run now!!!!!
I know a couple of people who were asking me about the spring run, so I will make sure they look at this one and maybe we can pickup a few more!
I'm really looking forward to this run! It looks great, I've driven most all of the roads and they are a lot of fun...
Now for the logistics... if all goes well I'll see you all at 8am on the 19th!

DRKSYDE - I'm guessing you have looked at the list of attendees from the spring runs that Zia and I have organized the last couple of years? If not I'll see if I can PM all them and see who is intrested in attending.
I'm sort of looking forward to not having any responsibilities this time! Seems I'm always leading a pack or on the rare occasion tailing!
Thanks for all the work DRKSYDE.

Ok, I finally booked my room. I’m in. Now I just have to get out of work early enough to get 2 or 3 hours sleep before I head up to VT. Mendossa, I sent you a PM with my info.

Not me. My office moved from Waltham to Marlborough so I am close to home now (12 miles).
