2007 New England Spring Run, Adirondacks May 19th and 20th!!

I think that looks pretty good - not a morning person, so I like the 9.30 start. I'll likely start towards home after Texas Falls. Not 100% sure yet, but that was my original plan. So for members who want to get on their way home, the Texas Falls stop (or Lebanon) provide a decent place to duck out early anyway.

Well I've been dreading writing this all weekend. Hell I should of smelled this coming the moment the plastic underpiece's went out and started to be shaved away by the pavement. Pretty much I am backing out from the Run Between having to find money to repair the underpiece's and now having to come up with money to either repair my hood or replace it I can't justify going on the Run. Trust me if you seen my bank acc. you'd cringe and do the same and once more trust me on this I'm really pissed and upset I have to do this.
I'm expecting TONS of photo's and some wild *** stories outa you guys. Dont disapoint me.
Now If you'll excuse me Ima go play some violent video game to let out some frustration (gf aint around for yanno so next best thing hehe)

The underpiece right under the nose of the car that protects the radiator & a/c stuff from pebbles? The one fixed with 2 bolts in oval holes?
Someone on the forum had the same thing and fixed it using a plastic bin lid that he cut and bolted using the factory bolt... for like 5$

Well if I had the tools I would do something similar but alas I dont That and all the bolts got ripped out along with a few of the plastic bolts so I need to order the hardware plus the piece's. Was told its about $80 for each side and $8.00 for the hardware. My center piece is fine save for some of the front middle is worn away but its a easy fix for tape you could say (Mazda wants $151 for it). That and the scratch on my hood is gonna run me about $350 to repair unless I go CF which I am seriously considering. I know I could put the hood off for awhile but I hate seeing my baby scarred up. ::grumbles::I hate my boss I'd have the money if not for him messing with me.

Based on feedback, here's an updated draft schedule for Sunday (compromising between getting up late on Sunday and ending the day at a reasonable time).

- Everyone is on their own for breakfast.
- Early risers can still go to Whiteface if they meet up at 7:15 and rejoin main group at 09:45 in Wilmington... dunno if anyone (including me) will want to do that.
- We have reservations at Bellas (used to be called Little Italy Pizzeria) for lunch.
- It's ~185 miles from Lake Placid to Lebanon. If that's beyond anyone's range, there are gas stations at Royalton, VT (164 miles from Lake Placid).
- It's an hour from Lebanon to Brattleboro.

Any members who are planning on going but have NOT send an email addr +/- phone number to me or Mendossa should do so. If we don't have your email, you won't get the list of contact numbers emailed to you. (at this point it's prlly best to just PM info to Mendossa)
Roger that.
does this look familiar?

Clavius, sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to meeting you... I hope it somehow pans out so you can still go (but it sounds like that's unlikely).

So I have had some minor good news but its gonna be to late for the trip.
Again I'm expecting TONS of photos!!!
Oh and Drk dont worry man you can still torment me but I'll still keep on putting curse's on your car hehe.. Now where did I put that 4 feet of snow spell it is New England after all

I'll be out of contact Friday through Sunday this week.
By Monday or Tuesday I'll need a final headcount for Lunch food estimation.
Deslok has my best guess on the Saturday itinerary.
Everyone THINK SUNSHINE!

IMO, at least the meeting times and locations should be finalized, posted, and emailed to everyone by Tuesday or Wednesday so there's no confusion.

Bob is right. Even at 8 there will be some delays which could be a catastrophy if we start later. Let's still plan on 8. You never know what might happen if we don't start early. I would rather things went smooth and we left early and got into LP earlier.
Agreed?

I'm staying in Brattleboro Friday night, but I agree that keeping it at 8 am is the better way to go.
Push it to 10 am & you're just asking for trouble. 9 am . . . while I hate waking up at single digit hours on a Saturday, it's still seems like we'd be pushing it. Let's be honest - we'll prlly be waiting on a few cars for the 8 am meeting time. That's going to happen at any hour we set.

OK, here's the last route that Rx Eight 7s and I thought made the most sense:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...3,4.438477&z=8
We trimmed a bit off the original route; if anyone thinks we cut out something essential, speak up!
Here's a draft Saturday itinerary:
Lastly, we should have time to check into our hotels at Lake Placid and do a dinner if people are up for it (and if we can make reservations anywhere).
Any feedback is welcome (and don't feel the need to be gentle about it).

Here's a draft Saturday itinerary:
08:30 Meet in Brattleboro (fuel)
09:00 leave Brattleboro
10:15 leave Bennington (regroup if needed)
11:00 arrive Greenwich (restroom, regroup)
11:15 leave Greenwich
11:45 arrive Saratoga Mazda (restroom, parts, etc)
12:00 leave Saratoga Mazda
12:30 arrive Rx Eight 7s house (lunch, photos, restroom, fuel)
02:00 leave RX Eight 7s
02:45 leave Batchellerville (regroup if needed)
03:45 arrive Speculator (restroom + souvenier shopping)
04:00 leave Speculator
05:xx regroup at scenic roadside stop (no specific place known yet - front car make the call?)
05:45 arrive at Tupper Lake (restroom, regroup)
06:00 leave Tupper lake
06:45 arrive Lake Placid
Thanks go to Rx Eight 7s for coming up with that... note that I tweaked the times a bit so if anything is unrealistic blame me not him Anyway, that seems like a conservative schedule to me (anyone more familiar with the roads over there, chime in if I'm wrong). I looked at the spreadsheet to see where everyone is meeting the group (so we don't mess anyone up if we get ahead of schedule):09:00 leave Brattleboro
10:15 leave Bennington (regroup if needed)
11:00 arrive Greenwich (restroom, regroup)
11:15 leave Greenwich
11:45 arrive Saratoga Mazda (restroom, parts, etc)

04:00 leave Speculator
05:xx regroup at scenic roadside stop (no specific place known yet - front car make the call?)
05:45 arrive at Tupper Lake (restroom, regroup)
06:00 leave Tupper lake
06:45 arrive Lake Placid
- 972 Putney Road, Brattleboro, VT, 05201
- 24 Stark Road, Corinth, NY 12822
- Park & Ride @ Bow Junction; End of I-89 & Bow/Concord line (I'm not sure where this is, so I'll PM LilRedShinka about it)
Lastly, we should have time to check into our hotels at Lake Placid and do a dinner if people are up for it (and if we can make reservations anywhere).
Any feedback is welcome (and don't feel the need to be gentle about it).

kidding, sorry - I'm counting down the hours b4 my week off (~6hours cuz I'm damn sure leaving early!)
No problems by me. Aside from the previous thought about the start time. But it's really NBD either way. I'll take the extra hour sleep Friday.

My wife and I are staying in Brattleboro Friday night, so my long awaited road trip starts exactly 7 days from now! We have our radios and are ready to go!
We will probably split off at Texas Falls to head up to Stowe where we are staying on the road another night, and then will wind through the white mountains on the way home Monday. I have a track day scheduled at NHIS (BMWCCA) on the following Thursday with no plans except to prep the car at home that week. I have been daydreaming of this week since December!!

OK roll call, who's staying in Brattleboro Friday night?
1. Astral (Oleg) + my roommate (at EconoLodge (515 Canal St))
2. RX8Maine
3. dmc27 + GF (Super8 in Brattleboro)
Not sure what our plans are as far as what time we're hitting Brattleboro, yet. Might be there all day. Prlly depends on weather & what other things we do this week.
