Drinking to 200 is like breathing for me.
I was going to take off the sc belt to finally install that stiffy since the sc belt is slipping anyway. Nothing important or necessary. Sonic can always swing by my place at a later time and help with it if needed.

Nope, ways around that too.
Granted, not 'cheap'.
You can reflash the ECU to turn off the ECU's ability to monitor emissions equipment, then remove it all. You won't ever get a CEL because the ECU won't ever test the cat, air pump, etc... Go to an emissions inspection station and they hook up an OBD2 tester, the ECU would happily report that everything is fine.
I don't know if the CT emissions has an alternate, like a sniffer test. You would still fail that. Most people that go catless in emissions states keep their cat and swap it back on a few days before the test, then pull it back off just to keep the inspector's suspicions away.

Wouldn't that cover up some things that you would like to see? As far as diagnosing problems.
If I remember correctly, the emission testers do put a tube into the tailpipe of the vehicle during the test. So I'd most likely have to put the cat back on every two years, not that bad I guess.

There are ~125 CEL codes that the ECU can pop the light for. With a reflashing tool, you can choose which to turn off and which to leave on. So it's simple to turn off the ones that you don't want the ECU messing with while leaving on the others that you want to keep active to alert you.

Looks like I have some work to do!
Also, according to google its about a 4 hour drive from my place and currently there are about 8 active construction zones on the way, so I'm probably out which sucks. Most people I talk to don't even know what a rotary engine is, never mind an RX-8.

Update on Comp Test

bluehoney
200.mph
Qui
Dom?
Habs
Sonicsdaman
I removed myself from the test.
Did I miss anyone?
I need to tow my 8 to the dealer to get comp tested now. So, with that said, there is a 75% chance I'm pulling the aftermarket parts and selling them. If you guys want anything, ya'll can have first dibs!
I'm probably still coming too.

Work arrangements have been made, i work third the night prior, so i will probably be tired, but i will be there. Comp test would be nice, also have tranny fluid to put in and a rear passenger strut or strut spring combo. hoping redline will help my 4th gear grind. Looking forward to seeing all the 8s.
