Sounds bogus... It is the end of the month and they must need to still reach their quota.

Wow - that sucks!! I got pulled over in Fairfax, VA about 3 weeks ago for doing 55 in a 35 mph zone. This is considered reckless driving in VA - likely to get your license suspended for 6 mos and big fines and insurance hit. I got this once before and had to drive halfway across the state of VA two months later to go to the traffic court (though I did beat the rap).

The cop was up to my car and right in my face almost before I could put down the window and turn off the engine. A second police car pulled up behind him right away as well. He kept shining his flashlight in my eyes and around the interior of my car. It was pretty obvious he was looking to nab a DUI. I'd just had 6 drinks over 3 hours - but felt and was acting fine.

After giving him my driver's license and chatting with him for several minutes, I began to pull out my registration and proof of insurance. He said to forget about it, handed my license back, and told me to slow it down a bit. I thought for sure I'd at least get a hefty speeding ticket - if not reckless driving - but instead I just got a verbal warning. I was dumbfounded!! I started the car and took off. Maybe this is one of the advantages of getting older (am 46 now)?

I got pulled over for doing 120 in a 35 and on top of that was reckless driving, following to closely, ans impropper lane change. Started out as $950. Took it to court and was reduced to $175 because I made up a lame story so they gave me a ticket for 75 in a 35. I told them that my car was in 3rd gear and that it maxes out at 90 so there was no way that I was going that fast.

Damn bro, you are officially my hero! LOL

If I am doing 120 in a 35 and a cop comes out... screw that im not slowing down im going to speed up to get away! I ran once and hid in a high school parking lot

JUGRNOT - I feel your pain on that ticket. I got busted in arlington on Wilson blvd. doing 55 in a 35. Over there the the speed changes like every 2 blocks. The cops got me but when i took it to court the cop didnt show but they still found me guilty (which was total BS cause here in MD...no cop means no case) but the DA dropped the charges to 10 over the limit! Ah well thats why i love living in MD rather than VA

Landon, I know the feeling. Where I went to high school the speed limit a block away went from open road 50 (which everyone and their grandmother did at about 60) to 25. Cops used to sit at the damn sign and if you were over when you crossed it..... Town made alot of money that way, but it still sucked!

Most areas with speed limits of 35mph have a rapid reoccurance of stop signs, turns, pedestrian walking areas, and school zones.

If you were doing 120 mph through there, the cop would have arrested you on the spot and had your license revoked for atleast 12 months.

Not only is your court story fake, but it's also almost impossible to get a car to go that fast in an area like that. Espescially with all the turns.

I'm going to raise the RPM's on this one.

no way man. mines crazier. I was doing 130 through a Stop and Shop parking lot where the speed limit was 10mph, holding a carriage in my hand outside the window. It was hard to hold onto the carriage since I was going so fast but my hand is really strong, plus I can curl like 300 pounds so.... anyway

I launched the carriage into a group of seniors who were bringing their groceries out to their cars. They all got smashed and it was very funny, and there was a group of cops on the sidewalk laughing. So one of them waved at me to pull over, so I did, and he said "Nice job man. You're car is very fast. Does it have twin turbo and nitrous?" I told him how I have a 75 shot of NOS, and I pushed the button to show him. I could hear the NOS releasing so then I reved it up to 11grand, dumped it and did like a 720 out of the parking lot.

All the cops laughed, and even the hurt senior citizens laughed too while they laid there dying. It was a great moment, and I even think some emo kids took some pictures on their cool cameras.

No tickets, no warnings, nothing. I love my RX8.

No way dude..

I wuz sittin at a red light and this cop pulls up next to me in a police package Z28.

I look at him and say, "you think you could take me." He reached into the glove box and pulled out this piece of paper and held it up. I thought It was his ticket book at first but then I got a better look and it was a pink slip.

"Lets do this," I said.

So the instant the light turns green he hits his lights and siren and we both smoke our tires flying down the street with lights and sirens going.. As soon as we hit like 110 in a 45 I hit the nitrous and it was all over.

I still love my RX8 but I really really like my new sweet ride!

It is possible to do 120 in a 35. A budy of mines friend with an Elise did 120 in a 25 in his neighborhood. Cops are all running radar and patrolling that place now though.
