/thumbs up for steve's DIY
what's new? I bought a house, moved on Dec 29th and then promptly went to Vegas for the CES. My cable wasn't hooked up until yesterday.
With that being said, what's new? I see there has been some "incident" involving John. Backtracking through the posts and seeing things like Doc's sig... i imagine that something with his stove?
BTW, This weather + Protenza Tires = Challenging! especially living in Massillon where the closest thing to a snow plow doing side streets is you and your shovel... ah well, provided i can survive to this saturday, i will get tires then. Simply no time during the week due to work.
Anyway, the CES was awesome! I will post pics i took from the car audio section. No RX8's were there though... kinda disappointed. Aston Martins, 350z's and Lambo's were the dominate vehicles there for show.
It's 5:20 and i am outa here. Looks for pics in the Lounge section in a bit. Need to get home and post them first though.
Hope everyone's had a great new years so far! Maybe this spring / summer, i will host a get together at the new house. It's huge and i have a hot tub! Will post pics of it as well in this section when i get home.
~ peace!

Good job on the DIY Steve...only found one issue. You have "do I" instead of "so I" in the first post...first sentence or so.
Meet is at the Outback between Route 8 and Route 82 just off 271. If you went to the Lizard over there it is on that road that connects the Route 8 and 82 exits off 271. From Route 8 make a Right at McDonalds and from 82 & 271 make a straight. :P
btw banned...what incident did I have? and welcome back :P

Close!
Doc was strapping my BEAUTIFUL electric stove to the dolly and didn't think about what would happen if the strap was tightened while wrapped around the front glass door.
As he tightened the strap........ lets just say we found out it was tight enough by an audible indicator.
I joked and said that I was going to take a pic of my stove and use that as his avatar.

So the move went pretty well Sunday.
Thanks to John for helping Friday with disassembling my entertainment center and workout machine.
Too bad the drive to Summit during our break took 1.5hrs because of the weather.
Thanks to Doc and Steve for helping me move... you guys were a life saver (unfortunately, not a stove saver
)
I was supposed to be back online Monday because Time Warner Cable had me scheduled 4-6pm.
At 7:30pm I called them to find out what was going on.
I was told that the account transfer was on their computer, but the equipment was still showing at the old house.
Then she said that the work order to come out to my house was not in their computer!!!
So for the inconvenience she waived the $14 transfer fee
She then scheduled me in the next morning (Tuesday) for 8am-12pm.
At 12:30pm I still haven't received a phone call or nothing from TWC so I try to call.
My wait time was supposed to be 3-6 minutes....
So after 20 minutes I hung up and was pretty pissed off because I had no sleep waiting for these ******* ****** ***** for a 2nd time.
I called an old friend who works for TWC and he offered to come to the house later to complete the transfer.
So at about 4:45 TWC arrives and gets everything running.
Then of course, like anyone moving into a new house can relate, I found little things here and there to work on.
My furnace's squirrel cage had a nice build-up on the fins that needed to be scraped off.
I also found a 1" square piece of plastic inside the squirrel cage.
Then I had a problem with my garage light switch!
The switch is INSIDE the house, not the garage!
So needless to say I had to re-route that wire into a new switch inside the garage.
I then discovered that I had an electric base board heater.
My landlord told me that the 2nd thermostat was for aux fans in the furnace.
When I inspected the furnace, I didn't notice a 2nd pair of 22awg running to the furnace as a signal for the 2nd thermostat!
So I removed the 2nd thermostat and saw 12awg electrical wires.
I measured the wires, but only got 214mV (little common voltage is normal).
I went into my breaker and saw a double-throw braker off, so I turned it on.
I now measured 220V across the wires.
So that's how I discovered the base heater, to which I now have to move my entertainment center to a different room since it sits right in front of the base heater.
And other little stuff like one outlet had a bad contact and you couldn't plug anything into it, so I just replaced the outlet.

Ouch...sorry to hear about that Jon. Glad I could help out though and at least get you guys started. It also sucks that we spent all that time going up to Summit for a part I really didn't need after closer inspection.

So, I'll take it upon myself to do the call ahead seating for 6pm at the Outback in Macedonia. However - I need a final number. I'm thinking perhaps 10 max.
Vyndictive - Steve
Devilboi - John
Doc? (Pit crew in tow?)
Jon? (Yulia in tow?)
"banned"? ( i laugh each time I see that )

Ouch about the stove glass. Yes, we had similar ... adventures when we moved on Dec. 29th. At least though i had decent weather. No snow or rain at all and avg of 40 degrees most of the day.
pics coming soon. sorry not posted last night. got home and crashed on the couch. at work right now. should get them posted later today or evening.
