In other news... I've determined my motorcycle responds a lot better to a wrench than my 8.

I got nearly everything done today except replacing the front fork seals.
Cleaned both air filters, Oil change, F+R brake pads, removed all painted body panels, replaced spark plugs, deep creeped carbs and sprayed some into the cylinders also (it says you can use deep creep as an engine fogger too.)
Drained the gas tank (way harder than your would think)

I think that's all. Hm. And I managed all of this myself. AND the bike started and ran at the end of the day. I forgot that 92 octane eats a Styrofoam cup in about 55 seconds.... oops!

So... the big question now... do I take my bag of body faring and gas tank somewhere to be painted? Or try it myself...................

My RX8 is my daily driver... if that's not gambling, I don't know what is.
But no, I like Casinos for one thing... most have a bar somewhere inside.


But if I do it, buy all the supplies, put in the hours and such, and I'll really pissed if it doesn't work. Plus I only paid 1500 bucks for the bike... its a rare bike (unpopular) so I don't want to put any money into it really. Which includes a paint job...

I think I have my answer - next question (again) who knows how, or knows someone that knows how, to paint fiberglass?

Why didn't you connect both PC's wired to the router and then just FTP to the static that the xbox had? I don't understand why you would run your xbox to your PC.

Because my PCs are on different levels in the house and since this is a rental, I didn't want to run Cat5 cable through the walls.
The router is upstairs next to Yulia's PC and my PC +Xbox is downstairs.
Instead of spending more money on a wireless device for the Xbox(s), I'm just using the RJ45 port on my PC to stream audio/video to the Xbox(s).

Attached is my network layout (yup... couldn't sleep).
If you have a better idea on how to setup this network, I'm all open ears.
Remember, I want to have Yulia's PC wired to the router because she does video conferencing with her daughter daily using Skype.

It works...but unless you found some really cool high speed internet down there it really didn't matter if she went wireless or wired. You posted your speed a while ago I think but Im too lazy to go look at it. But let's work under the assumption that you have 10mpbs internet service. Even a WirelessG card is 5 times faster. As long as you don't have signal drops from the wireless it will perform well enough to do video. Now...as to your current setup. As long as the Linksys that you have doesn't have wireless you did it right. You would need to bridge the networks together though so that your xbox could get to the Internet.

But that is my issue.
If I bridge the networks, I lose internet connectivity on my PC.
I believe its changing the default connection to the wired when I bridge it.
But its not like XP where you can right-click on the connection and choose "set as default connection".

Maybe that is how they are in all the cars, just seems like a stupid place to put it.

I was looking at the bracket. The reason this is spot welded is so that the metal is not overheated to change the temper of the metal. If you overheat the metal or do not cool it properly, you will make the metal too soft or too hard. This will make the metal brittle and cause it to fail. I don't see a lot of movement between the 2 welded pieces, because they are tightly held in place with the 2 metal and 1 plastic bolts.

Are you sure that you can properly weld this without changing the temper of the metal? That's critical!

Here is what the pedal looks like when it "snaps":


You can tell that even though the two pieces are secured by the bolts, the metal will tear around the bolt.


As far as how to properly welding the two pieces.... that question is for Steve.

So I've been reviewing the "Clutch Pedal SNAP" thread to see if I can find how others are welding the pieces.

Yeah, I was going through those posts also. It appears this is common enough to be a threat. And it would be hard to see.

It also appears to occur more with anyone above 47K miles (a post I read from Ray) or anyone who upgrades their pressure plate.

Yeah - that would be a TIG weld (stick welding for non welding gurus - one hand holds the electrode, and the other hand feeds in the material)

I've never TIG welded, but I will get one of the welders by trade to take care of this for us. It won't be a problem at all.

Doc - When do you leave for El Salvidor? I may be able to swing by and pick it up on one of my trips to Berea.

Well, looking at the schedule, I'll probably get to them the weekend of the 6th, 7th, and 8th - So if I could could them all by then, that would be great.
