Guess that's why we love the damn things. Because it's so unique.

See...but I do hold the dealership responsible. While you did talk to the one retard...the dealership is not only responsible for his training they are responsible for him not being smart enough to ask someone that actually knows. Because they didn't take the responsibility to make sure he didn't talk out of his *** what makes you think that they took the responsibility to make sure their repair tech doesn't work out of his ***. Are you really going to trust your $30K car to one of them? I would rather trust Jon with my car.

About the ABS Self Check:

I always like to back up what I say, just took me a while to sift through my random documents and notes to find where I originally read it.

I agree with John's statement.
People call the service dept to ask questions and hope to get truthful answers.
And if the car is so unique, then maybe that person should have asked a tech before assuming something.

If only everyone knew about this forum.

Hey Jon. Any idea where the best place is to install a water temp adapter along the 35mm hose? Apparantly the adapter I've got is the right size it just doesn't install where the RB Adapter goes.

I don't know where the OEM sensor is at but apparantly that's the best place. Should be post-engine travel so it would give me the highest temps.

Here's a decent pic of an engine bay to work with...

I've been trolling through the forums looking for any pic of a non-RB water adapter installed and there just isn't one. Annoying.

Where does the RB install?
Near the thermostat?
What brand do you have?
I don't see why your adapter would be that much bigger than the RB to where you couldn't install it in the same place.

The RB installs in that little piping over by where the SSV is. There's a little L bend where it goes:

Here's my adapter:

No biggie. I only glanced at it on Sunday and didn't try to trace the coolant line to figure out if there's piping that works for this. Also failed to measure the adapter to make sure it's the right size (34mm or 36mm) from what people have discussed. Apparantly the hoses being used are 35mm.

Can't believe no one has a pic of their non-RB adapter. If you don't know of a good place offhand I'll post something in a big forum or ask Brice.

Howdy Folks.

Jeeze, you leave your computer one weekend - Reported off of work today because I spent most of the day "incapacitated" due to some Wasabi Ranch wings during the super bowl.

Anyway - John: I have the RB cat back. Gave a nice sound with the stock cat - however, I have never had the stock exhaust on the car... but honestly, all of my Racing Beat stuff has worked really well. I have no desire to change any of it even though I didn't put any of it on. If anything, I messed it up by installing a craptastic midpipe.
I am really thinking about the RB dual resonated pipe when it comes out.
...or just spend

Jon: I have class wednesday and thursday night. Friday would work best for CPD (clutch pedal delivery)

Ryan I have the RB adapter - I didn't read your post closely enough to know what you need.

Autoshow... want to finalize some dates? I am open to anything really... I just want to go.

I need to know where to put a non-RB adapter on.

Just pick a date and people can chime in if it doesn't work. Enough people chime in then we'll try another date.

Put it where it fits and where it is going to work. Duh.

March 7th for the Autoshow works the best for me. The 8th would work also... but it is the last day so it could be crowded,.... but that is also the day they give away a free dodge ram or something.

Ryan,
Well... I don't understand why the RB has their adapter after the heater core (unless it was for convenience).
I would think you would want the adapter on the heat hose (coming out of the engine) before the heater core since some heat will be lost in the core and not be as accurate for measuring water temp near the engine.

Friday it is.
I work Thursday night/Friday morning, so either early (before noon) or late (after 5pm) is best for me.

Banned... you can drop yours off at the shop any day this week between 7-4 and I'll get it. The shop is probably closer to you than my apt.
Shop Address:

CnD Industries
4520 Southway st SW
Canton, OH 44706

(From rt 21:
route 30 east to Raff Rd exit. Left at the bottom of the ramp, left on to southway st. 3rd building on the left)

Jon: you can drop them off at my house friday night. (about 20 min closer) Make sure that they're labeled. Don't want mix them up as John said.

I'll get to them next week. I'm not responsible for lost or damaged clutch pedals.

In other news, check out my group buy on the forums for welded clutch pedals!

That's alright. I have a hunch where I might find a nice, slightly used clutch pedal. It even comes with an RX-8!

Too late. I'll be looking for it.

BTW my clutch is not labeled by anything other than my unique handiwork. I got it out w/o effing with that silly little clip.

Course I may not be able to get it back in but that's something I'll worry about in a few weeks.

Ok. Finally found a search term that brings me back some real results. Upper rad hose is apparantly the return hose where the OEM sensor is at. So that'll be where I do it.

Here's mysql's big red hoses:

https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...4&d=1209260393

I'll have to pull off my battery case and drain my coolant but I'm changing the latter anyway. Gonna have to wait until I get my clutch back before I do anything.

I'm apparantly in full post ***** mode today. Anyway potentially new item on the market:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...=1#post2849072

I'm thinking of taking up a collection to buy this and then have a 'compression test' meet sometime in the spring where everyone can test out their engine compression. Mazda charges $100+ for a test although I believe you get reimbursed if your engine is bad.
