sounds good. tonight wont happen for me. will have to come down tomorrow. What time is good for you tomorrow? Lunch? I could pick you up something if you like.
Let me know. I'll pm you my ph#... not too crazy about simply posting it on any open forum. Dont mind anyone from our group having it but the rest of the world doesn't need direct access.

Oh and Steve it might be worth it to post something to the effect of 'I'm welding here and here - anyone done this before and think it's a bad idea?'. Figure it can't hurt.
Jon - you get your stuff?

Ryan, that picture is hilarious. I almost died.
I posted in a thread with the proposed welding idea and asked for thoughts and feedback. I'm sure we'll get the majority of the people saying it should be welded all the way around to "be on the safe side" which I'll take with a grain of salt.
Also, lunch would be fine tomorrow, I'll hopefully have my forkseals replaced on my bike by then and then perhaps rotate the ol' snow tires.
Jon - let me know when you're coming also, It would be good to time your arrival when the car is already hot so you can get an accurate temp reading from my ports.
I'll also pick up a rocker switch and maybe you can walk me through exactly what I need to do to wire in the kill switch. I am 90% sure I get, but I'm aware of my ability, and I'm also aware of how quickly I can mess things up.
I don't know why I keep putting off fixing my heater control either... its like I'm just not interested in fixing it all.

Saw that. Probably a better fit in the Tech Forum but that should get the attention of anyone who has valuable commentary. I'm sure there are enough people with clutch bracket and welding experience even if they probably haven't necessarily combined the two...

So this morning after being up for 26 hours, working 12 hours, and getting a 2 hour power nap, Yulia and I decided to go to the previous (x4) address and wait for the package.
FOUR HOURS LATER (about 12:40pm) and still no word I call the confirmation and it informed me that the resident was not at the location at 12:18pm!!!
So I left PISSED and called FedEX when I got home.
The lady was nice enough to change the address for me and it should arrive at MY CURRENT house tomorrow!
I'm about to call USPS to have them hold it when it arrives.
The UPS tracking Ray gave me is still invalid, so I PMed him last night and still have yet to hear from him.
Tomorrow around lunch/dinner time is fine with me.
Let me know what works for you!
I won't need to do that anymore. My dumbass read the tube wrong.
I saw the 70F, but that is under 30psi.
Normal operating max temp for vinyl tubing is 180F.
I think I'm safe.
No problem!

I know I'll be at the shop here between 12 and 4. So you guys and drop off clutches then.
Sucks about tracking down packages. Double sucks that you're the customer and you're the one doing all this work.
Anyone look at my keyless remote problem? Will that FCC number work with the 8? I have been just getting lost trying to see if they're compatible.

So one of my other projects was to make a simple video on the concept of using a vacuum hand pump to actuate valves.
I've been asked many times how to do this and even what an actuator looks like.
So I made this little video that I may post in the DIY.

Ryan,
Did you want to stop by and review the coolant system before I start putting everything back together?
I'll probably put everything back together Sunday.
I plan on taking several pics just to have, but figured it might be easier to see in person before you tackle this yourself.

Good video: I kept expecting something to happen because of all the crazy stuff I watch on you tube... I kept reminding myself - "this is an instructional video"
Oh, that room looks a lot better with that natural light in there. Did you ever replace the glass on the ov
I had the deflood mod on my list a few weeks ago, but never bought the supplies. I'm trying not to spread myself too thin on these projects.
Motorcycle, RX8, Jeep?

I have the glass, just need to run up to the store and get a few thin adhesive squares for the back of the glass.
I went up to Home Depot after I got the rocker switch and wire expecting to get everything for the deflood mod, but they didn't have what I was looking for.
I wanted to get a 3-way diverting valve from McMaster Carr, but I might be able to get an SMC solenoid for about $15 more and will earn me extra geek points.

While waiting for the FedEx truck (and USPS with my coils the release bearing) I started the kill switch.
Here are some teaser pics:
Testing the connection and figuring out which position is on/off:
Steve, you talked about a different rocker switch, but the concept is still the same.
Some rocker switches come with the wire already attached, which you simply butt-splice the wires.
