So I got a PM from Charles about the clutch kit..... its being shipped out today!
Maybe I overreacted a little with this whole thing because the packages were shipped to the wrong address (and a bad Akron neighborhood).
But anyway... all is good.

Maybe. But they did forget the clutch kit completely and just using all these different wholesellers always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. How'd they get the wrong address anyway? Old info in Paypal or something? I've had that happen before. I now put my address in every message and email when I order stuff.

Glad to hear it's starting a little better but it's a little warmer so it may just be evidence your starter is toast. My first day in FL was the worst starting and I didn't have my Cobb installed. Did that the second day and the starting continued to be sluggish. I'm going to call Westside tomorrow and chat with them about replacing my starter.

Glad you stopped back in jangle. Kinda amazed that you've had your car this long and still manage to stay away. Lots of good things going on around here with our cars.

They got it from my check.
Since I pay everything online, I still have checks with an old address.
I learned my lesson and plan on updating the address.
BUT, my BHR invoice DOES have the correct address on it... so that is a little confusing.

I asked him if he experienced starting issues with these coils on older RX8s with the original starter.
I also mentioned to him that you have the same issue.
Only thing he said was to contact the dealer because depending on the VIN, they may replace the stater.
Didn't really answer my question.
Charles wanted me to tell you to contact the dealer too.

1) The address that I shipped to was provided by Jon, himself. He has moved a bit since we have first done business. When it became evident that he moved I placed intercepts on all the packages (except USPS because they couldn't provide it) and they were all redirected.
2) BHR didn't "forget" the clutch. It was ordered minutes after the customer placed his order as I almost always do (except in certain cases). Being a MazdaSpeed clutch, and the fact that I am the ONLY person selling RX-8 parts through my particular wholesaler, they weren't prepared to have them on-hand. They are now.
3) Jon bought a clutch, flywheel, counterweight, release bearing, and ignition system. The clutch and counterweight come from my wholesaler. The release bearing comes from my inventory (as does the ignition kit). The flywheel comes direct from SPEC. Hence, the three different shippers.

I changed all my records, even old ones, to reflect your new address.

Well... the address that the packages were shipped to was NOT given to you by me.
It was simply on my check and I assume that was used.
Like I mentioned, I lived there 4 houses ago, so I'm pretty sure I personally didn't give you that address (I honestly forgot what that address was until I saw that you shipped it there).
I did PM you telling you what my new address was (from the Jeanie J Ave address).
But its not worth getting into. Everything is updated (on BHR's record) and I plan on updating my checks to reflect my current address.

And after reviewing my tracking history, I believe you.
Like I mentioned to others here, one package was 5lbs (which is the counterweight) and the other was 10lbs (which is the flywheel).
This obviously tells me that something wasn't shipped with another package.
I didn't want to say anything at first because I wanted to be sure.
I asked Flashwing to verify what was going on and to make sure it wasn't overlooked because I didn't hear that the clutch was delayed.

Thanks for coming here and clarifying this to everyone.

I guess there are two main points here;

1) Be sure to have clear communication with your chosen vendor.
2) I am not perfect.

And to add to your list:
3) Update your checks so there is no confusion.
Having a check on Excelsior St, recently moved from Jeanie J Ave, and living on Carpenter St did not make this easy.
4) Jon316G has a hard time trusting people
5) Jon316G isn't afraid to admit when he might have over reacted and is willing to let this go.

Plus, we resolved this while I was still on the road in SoCal for personal/legal stuff, then in NorCal to pick up an engine that I will be building for myself, and now in Las Vegas to finish up some stuff on Phil's car. After today, 4/5s of the BHR team will be taking a few minutes off for some debauchery.

Nice "plug" for your BHR service
Thanks for taking the time to come onto our local forum to discuss this.
I'm sure you wanted to do this to protect your company's reputation... I don't blame you!
You could have easily just PMed me telling me to delete my post like some other vendors have.

If there is anything I appreciate it is honest, critical, input from customers like you, Jon. Experiences like these allow me the opportunity to improve my processes and manners in which I handle such controversies.

Truthfully, I hope we at BHR never lose touch of the fact that we are simply a group of people who are trying to provide the best parts, best service, reasonable prices, avail ourselves to those who need help, and have a LOT of fun while doing it.

Opinions/experiences such as yours are far more valuable than you will ever know.

Thanks for dropping in to explain Ray. Even if you hadn't come by your effort to get this fixed for Jon would have been enough to keep folks in our region coming back to you. It made sound odd but the only reason this minor bitchfest occurred is because of the positive experiences we've all had previously when we've bought items from you. I think almost everyone here has experienced a 'typical' transaction from most aftermarket sellers that leaves a bad taste and it was upsetting to see it happen with a BHR transaction. Now that it's pretty much complete its obvious that this is an exception.

Good luck with the finishing tune on Phil's car. Gonna be great to read about the final results.

Not to keep the "issue" alive but I think this is only the 4th or 5th time in the past 12-18 months (depending on when one considers BHR to have become "professional") that I have had this level of difficulty with an order.

Your point about peoples' prior experiences with BHR making a mistake on my part seem surprising was something that had occurred to me a while back but I thought I was just being typically egomaniacal.

Seriously, I am glad that you all hold us to higher standards than you might other vendors. We will do what we can to raise the bar even higher in the future.

Having spoken with others in this industry, as well as others in different industries, it seems many of us have gotten a bit busier (with BHR getting WAAAY busier) since 12/26/08. Good thing we now have 4 team members and that Michelle has now moved-in with me.

p.s. I think Phil will be somewhat satisfied with the way his car runs. MM has been doing his magic for a couple hours now.

So do I get a pair of BHR PJs for being one of the lucky few?

Sure, but where do I send them and will you read the instructions before you try them on?

Seriously, I have one set but I am considering a line of wacky BHR stuff like that for those who have the same strange sense of humor the whole team has.

Given this community as a whole, not just the locals here...you would make a killing. Can I get some BHR/RX8 boxers with flames on the *** please? :P

ok...here goes:

-lots of lil rattling noises in the interior (mainly the doors)
-right, front speaker replaced
-right, front amp replaced
-left, front amp is bad (bose sent me one for free cuz i emailed them and bitched about the poor quality) but i have to replace it myself
-the "glow ring" around the lighter stopped working
-the light behind my #6 preset button flickers on/off (stereo)
-cd player doesn't work when it gets below like 20 out until the interior warms-up
-poor quality of the center console slider door
-$900 oil cooler lines replacement (originals started leaking)
-water in both taillight assemblies (left covered under warranty but now right is a fishbowl and i'm out of warranty)
-rust is forming around the 3rd brake light on the trunk lid
-and of course, not a lot of confidence in longevity after the engine replacement

i love the car but i've never had this many problems with any car/truck that i've ever owned before...this is my first import and the 2 main reasons that i bought it were styling and handling...i was sold the first time that i drove one...it was between the 8 and a mustang...loved the mustang too but everybody has one

If you need a hand replacing it I can head down there.

w00t w00t...I hate that stupid thing anyway. There is a small LED that can be replaced that is on the underside of it. I wonder if the connection just came loose though.

When you pull the ashtray pull the radio. Unscrew the face and remove it. Then reattach it and see if that fixes it. There is a contact behind there that sometimes gets loose. It is damn annoying.

Had this problem in my last car. Use an iPod and forget about it all.

Brian/Megan have one for sale if you want the whole assembly. You could also order the gasket and fix the light yourself.
