Cool, I'd love to learn how to do the diff fluid. I can help with the zoom cleaner - did you order it from mazda or get seafoam?
I have a good sense of the coils, but I know I'll be doing those soon..........

Jon - sure, we can drive together, but it'll be hard to do the kill switch at Doc's with my car at your place in Akron...

Ya, forgot to mention, i did reset the DSC, sorry guys for leaving that out.

I figured i'd get a laugh out of the "swerving light" comment.

thanks for the responses.

You're a nerd - you just want to go for a cruise and you're calling it a "drive cycle" just so it sounds like you're doing something functional.

I just figured we would do that at my house.
Didn't want to have your car apart at Doc's not knowing how long we would be there.
But its up to you (and if Doc doesn't mind).

I just installed the clutch pedal.

Not getting enough depression on the button that we took off for the welding.

Car won't start.

If I hold it down with my fingers,it'll start, so it's a position thing.

Gordy Graybills on 241 (wales rd). Not too far from my house actually (less than a mile i think). Looking at about $150-200ish if i remember right. Havent got my 8 done yet but my previous car i had done there. Great job too. But make sure you tell them to clean the windows before putting the tint on. Yeah, i know... seems like a dumb-**** request to make but someone there last time didn't clean my rear window before putting the tint on and they sandwiched handprints, dust and anything else stuck to the window, between the tint and glass. But they had no problem removing and redoing it for me.

I believe legal limit is 32%. But they will let you know. Pretty sure legal is 32 though for the fronts. Rear windows though, there is no limit. I am thinking of going 24 for the rear and half door windows and 32 for the driver and passenger windows. I may go 24 all the way around though instead. had 32 on my last car all the way around and wasnt that happy with it. Everytime i looked at it, i wished it was darker. we'll see.

But Gordy's is a good place to go and it's fairly close to home for you.

That's weird Doc.
The bracket that holds the switch can't really move back.
Just to cover the basics, did you mount the switch like this:

The switch only fits in one way, as far as I can tell,

it's in place, but not depressing far enough. It's off by about a 1/4".

Like I say, I can depress it with my finger and start the car.

The clutch itself is working, I can get the car in gear.

I guess we can take a look at it Sunday.

My issue is Doc, if the pedal is not going back far enough to engaged the switch, how is it going back far enough to completely disengage the clutch?

I just thought about your last post:

You can probably be off 1/4" in travel and still change gears safely.

You don't "need" the pedal to change gears

Damned if I know. Could the metal have distorted? Remember, the part holding the switch is part of the housing.

The switch is being depressed, just not far enough. Nee

You should be OK to shift safely... that's not off too much.
Until I come over Sunday, you can remove the harness and jump the terminals with a wire.

I'm stopping by my dentist Friday. Probably be done by 5. If you're around after that I'll grab it or you can just leave it by your garage and I'll snag it.

I will be more than happy to come hang out with you guys while you work on your cars. I like the learning experience in that. However, I do have to work on Sunday so Im out there. Sat morning I'll be out on the West side doing my taxes so I can stop by on my way home.

Steve - We do get a discount at BullitProof out in Westlake for tint. I want to say it is right around $100.

We do? How? Through C6C or something? Do you have their contact info?

Horizon motorsports gave me 199 installed with a lifetime warranty. I didn't think that was too bad. Plus they're basically walking distance.

Mine has a lifetime warranty and I paid like $220. Im pretty sure that comes with the tint and not with the install though. Just make sure you get non-mirror'd tint like I got.
