It does seem like every meet ends up in the rain.
I planned on showing up around noon, but weather is permitting right now.
I have to run up to Microcenter (I love that store) to pick up some blank DVDs, so if the weather isn't too bad, I'll continue north and see whats going on.

Also, we are having a party at my house May 23rd... nothing big, just a few people come over to drink and shoot pool (basement can only hold so many people). I just spent $170 restocking my bar in preparation (not including beer). Its quite a drive for some, but if anyone is interested in coming over, let me know and I'll send an invite that has a map with directions to follow.
FYI... my house is roughly 20mins south from I271 and RT8... so I live very northern Akron right by the border to Cuyahoga Falls.

Just in case you are still around Jon and are checking in. The rain has started up here so I am sure that they have stopped running already. Maybe next time.

Thanks.... but too late.
So I went to Microcenter and the weather was fine when I left... so I went up there.
Not many people were there, but there was one VR RX8 running. Not sure if it was any of you.
I was expecting him to come off the course and say hi, but never did. So I'm assuming that it wasn't one of you...
I was there for roughly an hour and it started to get chilly and the rain started to come down pretty good... so I ended up leaving at 1:00.

That was me Jon. Sorry, I didn't see you.

I was really seriously focused on the driving and probably should've looked into the parking lot more. Sorry. You should've walked up and hopped in. I only bite during the week....LOL

We ended about 1:30.

I also forgot to mention (for those who care to come) to show up sometime after 7:00pm. We have over 30 different liqueurs for shooters and cocktails and beer will be provided (Bud Ice, Cools Light, Heineken). All you need to do is show up and have fun. If you would like to bring a particular liqueur, all is welcomed (the more the merrier).

I thought that was you... but the temp tags threw me off.
Was that BMW running open headers? That thing was loud.
Your 8 sounded nice too... what are you running (aftermarket)?
I know that you have the MS intake (which should sound like my AEM), but it sounded nice.
Though I've never heard an aftermarket RX8 drive-by so my car could sound like that too.
Anyway... you did pretty good. My wife was there too and now she wants to run the course with her Mazda3.
I'm all up for that... she needs new tires anyway... might as well make the best of what she has left.

Now Im disappointed I didn't roll up there. The mailman showed up just before 11 as I was getting ready to head out with my clear corners. (Yea...I know...Sunday...wtf is the mailman doing here. I have no idea!) I saw it raining and decided to install them instead. When I got done it was that scheduled lunch time and I just never made it out. Hope you had fun Mark and glad your wife wants in too Jon.

I'm not sure what the muffler is, it's how I bought the car(hence the temp tags) and I can't find out what brand it is.

Your wife would enjoy it..............but it is VERY humbling. A game of inches! It took me all day to gain 1 second. And that was probably the EASY second.....

Was just another digg on The Fast & the Furious...mah bad. In the movie they didn't call it Nitrous...they only referred to the brand NOS. It was bad...really bad.

You still running STU?

Man, I learned alot yesterday. And now I only begin to understand what I DON"T know.

Had one of the other guys drive my car. He went 3 full seconds faster than me. So, it's not the car!

A VERY humbling sport!

Yes. I can't run BS because I'm not stock. Lowering springs are against BS rules.

I'll probably be in the class all by myself again on Sunday. Oh well.

Hey everybody.....................

I think Tony should buy lunch for anybody that can beat him

He's the "pro" of the group...........

Tony, if I don't get that intake changed before the weekend, I'll have to run STU also.

Ha ha! I'm no pro, that's for sure. In fact, I wouldn't hold back in saying that I pretty much stink. I have no "formal" training, just a season and a half of seat time. There's no doubt that I have much to improve on.

If anything, you should be buying ME lunch since you're probably gonna be in my class, possibly causing me to lose my 'win by default' status. I always win.....since I'm the only one in my class. You could dethrone me this weekend.

Dethrone.......not deflower, Mark.

Rivalry?? I don't know about that. Besides, you have more fundage than I do to buy parts, so it's not exactly fair. Then again, I could just cream you with awesome driving skills.....not that I actually have any.

If it was the road course, I'd say "Bring IT". Autocross I'm not so sure. We'll see on Sunday.

Looks like I'm going to need new tires (at least the rears) before I can join in for an autocross.
My tires are pretty bald (been bad at rotating them).
When I was driving to the Test-N-Tune event, I was getting off of 271 and as the road winds around, my rear-end started going out (and I wasn't even going that fast). So I had to pucker my butt-cheeks and regain control.
At least my front tires still look real good.
I have the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2 tires and they are great, even in the rain.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nSpeedRating=H
I just need to take better care and rotate them once a year (and stay off the ice/snow).

Until I get new tires, I will still come out to the autocross to laugh at you guys and maybe get my wife in on one.

Welcome to the club.

Speaking of seeing some strangers. Last night there was a WWP driving down Chagrin east of SOM around 7PM. First time I have seen one of those around here.

What ER do you work in? I'm a field engineer and I constantly visit a large majority of the Hospitals in Northern Ohio.
