Finally got the 360 to see TVersity!
I ended up hooking the wireless router downstairs and have my PC, Xbox, and 360 hard wired directly to the router.
The wireless card is now in Yulia's PC.

Yeah... today is a stupid day. I had a guy forge his timecard so you wouldn't be late returning from his paid lunch... so essentially he will be fired over a matter of $4 or 15 minutes. . . dumbass.

Who in here does, or has already completed their taxes? I'm tired of taking mine to get done when they should be really really easy... or EZ. I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Tax Money = Car Money.

My grandfather did mine for free. *shrug* He did recommend TaxCut as the best software out there for doing your own taxes though.

Definitely accounts for something but that's a pretty big haul to Akron/Cleveland. Not sure if there are any other 8s near you either.

At least you have the option to head down to Columbus or up to Akron/Cleveland for meets. And some of the guys in Canton would probably be more than happy to meet up with you.

I take it from your name you have an '09? Not an R3 though, is it? Because if it was we might have a meet in your neigborhood just to see it.

Check in with the Columbus group. They're pretty cool down there. I used to own a farm in Cambridge, over in Adams Twp.

Personally, I would stay away from the Canton 8 owners... they know just enough to sound like they know stuff about the car . . .

Welcome anyway!

Guys... below is a quote from a thread about a guy that installed the Mazsport Clutch pedal bracket and he states that he had the same fitment issue that the BHR pedal people have, and that we're having with our CnD clutch pedal weld...

now its rock solid.

car has 48k miles, its shifting better than when i got at 19k. very solid feel to it now. the metal the clutch assembly uses is simply stamped steel. very thin and easy to bend. the mazsport clutch bracket is very heavy duty steel. it wont bend. installing it took me ~1.5 hours. had a slight issue at the end with the clutch cut out position sensor not engaging, but that was taken care of. the metal offset it slightly so the car wouldnt start.

its nuts how much it has changed. shifting is very very enjoyable now.

i highly recommend the mazsport clutch bracket if you can find one.
This guys claims a huge difference... but after driving with mine for 3 days, I guess maybe it feels a little firmer... but I bet its in my head.

Potenza RE-01R - Onsale at tire rack for $78

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this, but this information was sent to me in my quest to acquire a set of RX8 rims for my 6s wagon.

Bridgestone Potenzas RE-01R are on sale for $78 bucks a pop.

Crap. My screwing around on the clutch install just got kinda expensive:

I'll see if I can find a used one. That switch should so not cost $80. It's stamped by Ford for Christ's sake! Meanwhile remind me to make sure I'm not in gear when I start my car.

No. I sent an email to Jason at onlinemazdaparts so he may have the PN. Pretty sure I know why you're asking but I'll probably go the used route if I replace mine. Gonna try some more superglue first. The switch is fine - it's just the little plastic clip that broke. The silicone sealant I tried doesn't seem like it was strong enough.

I may also just duct tape the entire thing because let's be honest - that would be awesome. Who wouldn't appreciate a welded/duct taped clutch pedal. I could probably sell it for lots.

I've used TurboTax.com for mine the past 7 years without any complaints.
Very easy to do which is nice because I don't know understand anything about taxes.

You can also type in your employer's business number and it'll automatically fill in all the information.
There were a couple times it didn't know the company's number and I had to manually enter in all the fields, but that is probably because I did mine as soon as my forms were available.

I'm a seven year customer of TurboTax too. I got my refund about two weeks ago. Too bad I have to spend it all on fixing up the house....

Remember to remind me that bending stuff is not a viable means of fixing it.

Seriously though, I feel bad that after welding you guys are having problems. I would like to get to the bottom of this.

Doc: you've got a valid and logical point that it worked before, than it got welded, now it doesn't work... therefor the weld had to do something.
But, Jon's and mine reinstalled just fine... both being installed by Jon, which (i'm not trying to be rude) could say that there is some variation on how the pedals need to be re-installed.
There wasn't enough heat put into the pedals to warp them at the point of the switch... I don't know, I'm really lost on this one.

------------------------

Is there anyone that just does their taxes the old fashioned way? Online without any help?

Yeah, but Jon also took mine apart and reinstalled without success.

There was a lot of commentary about mine already beginning to fatigue. Maybe that had something to do with it.

If the metal was getting out of position, then moved, it may have taken it out of tolerance.

I don't think it's a warping. I think it's some type of tightening with the weld, which changes the position out of tolerance.

This switch didn't have anything to do with welding. It was because when I took apart my clutch pedal I slid the top of this switch off rather than bother with the tabs on the plug that connected to the switch. When I went to put it back on I couldn't slide the thing on so, with the pedal already reinstalled, I tried to pry off the switch. I couldn't figure out how it came off so I just 'pulled'.

Which is around the time I saw a little black piece of plastic go flying past my head. Apparantly 'pulling' works for Mazda switches but is out of tolerance zone for Ford switches. Had I known it was engineered by Americans I would have been more delicate.

I did my taxes online with HRBlock. Have for the last 4 or 5 years. If you don't have a lot of deductions then it's a piece of cake.

Alright, that makes me feel better then...
And with Doc's pedal, we've eliminated installation as a cause.
A weld that small wouldn't warp or tighten that much at all, but I guess if the tolerances were tight anyway it could be an issue.
Also - just thought of this... Doc and Ryan are the two clutches that were raced on, hard clutch conditions. Jon and mine were not used like that and ours both work... Doc: you touched on this, but perhaps there was some bending somewhere in the clutch that was made more evident by the welding.

Also, was the H&R online filing free?

I believe it's free if you just do an easy but if you have to itemize your deductions then it costs you like $40 plus whatever it cost me to file. Since I own a condo I have to itemize.

You might want to check this out too. Not sure how much you make but it can be free.

I wish I would have just removed and reinstalled the pedal, but I didn't.
All I did was loosen the nuts, tightened the upper-left nut first, then tightened others.
