That's a good thread to read through.
I keep forgetting about it when someone asks a noob question.

John, I work on Friday, but I can lend a hand on Friday night if need be. I won't be able to get up to your area until around 6:30ish though... Saturday before the show is no good for me, I'm taking the 8 over to Westside to get the oil changed. (yeah sue me, I'm lazy. plus they wash my car for me so :p)

As for tools, you won't need much.just a few sockets and a socket wrench, and a flat head screwdriver (for the rubber hangers).

I put my midpipe on without the air compressor, so I think we could muscle off some bolts on your car with less miles and zero winters. hehe

You guys want to shoot for 630/700 on Friday then? It is supposed to be warm and clear. Maybe we can throw it on your car Brian real fast if it isn't going to take so long so you can hear it.

I am tempted to come and help out with this install. Maybe I can move my plans to Sunday.

I know I need to get under my car soon and fix that rattle...

John - upon further thread digging... many many people seem to agree that the racing beat is the deepest tone... but Jon's is still much deeper. I'm assuming that is because of the midpipe though.

Maybe I'll bring a creeper... i don't like having a cold back.

So are you going to purchase a midpipe or high flow cat in the near future also? I know you sold the one that came with the system... but perhaps down the road?

popping flames is a hit with the ladies... (i'm told)

Yeah but the stink associated with it tends to be a turnoff. Unless they really like the smell of farts.

Down the road I was thinking about the RB midpipe. But Brian is exhaust shopping so I was going to let him see if he wanted the AP catback.

I may toss it on, it depends. The only downside would be 8 exhaust hangers instead of 4. Have I mentioned how much I hate those stupid things.

More then likely I'll just help you put it on your car, as I have plans with Megan to go bar hopping downtown later that evening. Plus I've all but ruled out the AP exhaust, as I want something with a double wall tip. The sound would have to be really really good for me to consider it. Thanks for the offer though.

down the road? Do it now... without thinking... trust me, it'll work.

And as much as people complain about the stink... you really only notice it when you get out of the car when you're done. Even mine doesn't leak into the cabin at all unless I'm in a traffic jam.

Aren't there only 2 exhaust hangers for the catback?

Nope, there is 4 on the muffler, 1, on the pipe between the muffler section and cat/midpipe, and 1 on the cat/midpipe.

We'll only have to dislodge 5 of those on your car since you aren't doing a midpipe, hehe.

Also, check into what size the holes are for the bolts/studs in the flange that mates to the cat/midpipe section.

On the stock setup, that section is a spring loaded stud connection, look under the car and you'll see what I mean. about half way up that stud is a "fixed" molded nut on it which you use to turn the stud out of the cat pipe portion. if the holes are big enough, then we won't have to take the studs out.

I doubt they are though.

Steve- If you decided to go to John's Friday night and want to ride up there with me, let me know.
Figure since its 50 minutes from my house, it'll be a long drive for you.
I've got the address in my TomTom so I'll be there around 6.

Brian, if you could throw your jack in the trunk. Mine sucks ***** and we could be there all day waiting for the car to go high enough to lift the jackstands in the back.
