I'm game too, but I agree that it would have to be a little later than 6. I've got an all day respiratory care seminar to attend until 5 and sometimes they run over.
I'd like to meet up with you guys again though. Decide on a date for the group photo too and let me know. A weekend in late April early May would be best.

The 6 o'clock thing is because it will be getting dark a little later. Pretty sure it'll be dark around 7 that time of year. That's also why a big meet with intent for pics would need to be during the day.

I see how it is. You just don't want Doc and I to hang out with you. That's alright. I know you guys have a hard time dealing with our considerable on track fastness and overall awesomeness at life.

Hey guys! Im new to the 8 owner ship scene (3 mths). My 04-red-mtrans just scattered the clutch disc.Dad and I dropped trans thurs. If you pleese any good local parts houses to get better than oem parts??(act-exedy-etc) I am located in Ashland-we own a camp ground just off St Rt 250-6 miles east of I71. Any "noticeable" gains in the lighter flywheel?
Jon-where did find the starter specs? Dad just went through my b2200-our kubota and his oo F150 starters--the F150 starter is "very"simular to the RX8 unit he also had bad solenoid which was N/A from even Ford(starter assy 187.00).He got one from Shrear Tractor electrical repair shop in Wooster for $34.

We usually get our parts from a forum member (Charles R. Hill).
Yes.
I'm installing a clutch kit and lighter flywheel soon, so I'll definitely be able to tell you.
Shop manual.
Its a nice PDF formatted manual that is 115MB (uncompressed) to download.
The link I had to the site is broken, so I'll have to find another.
But here is a web-based version you can use:

Ryan - Glad I could actually get my hands dirty for once and show you guys I really can work on some parts of the car. :P I was thinking about our little discussion on our way over to Firestone a little. When you get your midpipe I think we should put together a video of our cars next to each other and do a direct side-by-side comparison. I also think that if we do it I will talk to one of my buddies and see if I can borrow a real mic to hopefully clear up some of the unrealistic sound clips that people have posted with cheap cameras and such.

And can his?
That is the largest PDF file size (if the files are transferred separately).
I would like an idle/rev, drive-by, and an in-cab video.
What would be even better is if John got the mid-pipe and we can do a comparison between the MazSport and RB midpipe, since we both have the AP cat-back.
On another note... I put Ryan's starter switch on mine since his switch passed the continuity test.
It started up pretty good!
But I don't want to jump to conclusions.
Final test would be when I drive somewhere, stop for a few minutes (like to get gas), then try to start again.
That always seems to be the worst for me.
When I was showing Ryan how the starter worked I noticed that 2 out of 4 brushes looked really worn.
So I'll take his motor apart and check the brush lengths.

We could always put Ryan's midpipe on my car...film it against yours and then move it over to Ryan's after it cools off. Although...odds are pretty good that I am just going to order the RB midpipe when it comes out.

Nice to see some new blood, Kevin. If Summit is too far for you OnlineMazdaParts.com has the tranny/diff fluid Jon, Doc, and I all use and seems to be fairing wll on 2 of the three cars and Doc will know soon enough once his comes out of the garage.
If you want a workshop manual you can either download it from here:
http://pdftown.com/Mazda-RX8-2003-Service-Manual.html
or you can get all the manuals online here:
http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page=rx7manual#rx8
You can just edit it and post it then I'll put a thread out there. If you can put a tag on it at the three different parts (old starter+ 2 yr old Duralast Gold battery, old starter+red top warmed up, new starter + red top) that'll keep it from seeming completely out of place if someone sees it w/o the thread.
Got the wires all taped/zip tied up and the dash/. Started it once more just because I can. Still impressed by how quickly it spools up. Here's a couple shots of the interior tho the light coming from the windshield and the crappy phone camera make it a little tough to see:

As for swapping midpipes once I get mine... Safe to say once that sucker is installed I'm not taking it off and it's gonna get installed pretty fast once RB gets their **** together and let me order it.

Like I said...odds are that I will order mine at the same time you do so it won't be a problem. Even if I don't like it I am sure I can sell it on here for a decent price.
