Anyone here recommend a virus/spyware-clean program that I can download off the web to convert a WMA file to MP3? I'm trying to make a ringtone for my phone and Audacity won't allow me to import the WMA file into the program due to 'license restrictions'....lame.

I know there are programs out there to do this. 'The Google' came up with a gazzilion results, but I don't want to download a virus or spyware along with the program.

DRM = Digital Rights Management
The point of DRM is to keep you from giving me a copy of the file in that or any other digital format. However, they can't control if you burn it to a CD as CD's don't understand what DRM is. So the workaround for moving a DRM'd song around is is to burn it to CD and then rip it back off of the CD and encode it to mp3. It is just a bunch of stupid hoops that were created by people that didn't think things through. So once you burn it to CD with whatever software you choose, Windows Media Player will even do it, you need to Rip the music off again and encode it, again Windows Media Player will do you just fine. Just make sure that your Rip settings are setup to do MP3 instead of WMA.

It's not working. I burned it to a CD, opened WMP and it doesn't show the name of the audio file on the screen to rip it. It just says 'To begin, insert an audio CD into the drive.' The disc is in there and it shows the name of the disc, but the file doesn't show up on screen in WMP. In windows explorer it does.

I use ImTOO's WMA MP3 Converter.
I have a cracked version, but I think you can use a trial to do what you want.

Why does our younger generation refuse to learn proper grammar and punctuation?
I deal with some of the most ignorant people in the state of Ohio on a daily basis and these last two pages make my brain hurt.
By the way, nba, how's the S10 doing? Get that power you wanted out of it?

On a completely different note I picked up my clutch starter switch this morning. I'm 90% sure that the switch I picked up is longer than the switch I have hanging down under my dash. I'll compare when I get to my car tonight but that would mean that the clutch wasn't the problem at all and for whatever reason something happened that 'shortened' the switch length. Which frankly makes more sense to me. I know I took that switch basically apart when I removed it. No idea why it might have shortened for Doc tho.
