I'll probably take a look at this tomorrow.

Anyways though, I'm at (100% being the deal is finished and good to go) 50% on buying buniques RX-8. Have to get back to the bank tomorrow morning to see if the loan is approved and what not. Wish me luck! xD
Awesome, best of luck!

One tip for those of you having the squeaky brake problem.

Brake really, really hard a couple times in a row. If you can warm up the brakes and then actually use them the sound usually goes away. I don't use the hunk that comes with hawk pads since I swap them all the time and hard braking seems to be the best cure.

I actually tried that too after performing my AP logs a couple nights ago, still squeaks.
I plan on greasing all the required areas today, so hopefully that will take care of it.

Morning everyone.

Friday I got ambitious and yanked everything off the car for the VFAD except the actuator. I yanked the airbox screens and baffles too, cleaned the MAF and dropped in a new air filter, woot! Didn't notice a change in tone or an increase in performance though.

Either way, at the very least I did some weight reduction. All 10oz of it. Ok, maybe a pound.

I didn't think you would hear an audible increase with your mid-pipe, though some seem to think so.
Did you verify that the VFAD valve stayed open?
You can reach in through the engine bay and feel it (obviously the air box has to be removed).

Hah! Its much better then Youngstown, where I went to school (and still drive to daily for work).

I am going to see what the dealer says before replacing any of the pads or rotors. Maybe I can weasel my way into some new brakes, who knows.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Yep, I stuck my head in the hole created by the missing airbox saw that the flap was open and I could see the backside of my bumper cover through it. hehe.

Then I hooked the hose back up to the actuator and tried to created enough vacuum by sucking on the hose to close the flap, but I failed miserably at that.

I was a little drunk when I was doing this though

I don't think you can create 10psi of vacuum by sucking with your mouth.
Should have given Megan a try at it

Where abouts in Youngstown do you work?

I hardly ever see any 8's out this way. Every now and again I see a velo red w/aero package out in Columbiana. There's a silver 8 by my old highschool, and a new 09 white one out in Columbiana (but it's an older woman that drives that...)

Well, having a few beers in me at the time lead me to believe otherwise I have made 4psi of "boost" before on a spare gauge I had laying around.

And I'd comment about Megan, but she's lurking in this thread right now and I like to keep my ***** attached to my body

Anyways, I look forward to seeing some of you on the road!

Welcome to the club. Hope to see you on the 24th.

I work pretty much right on the corner of belmont/churchill in liberty. There is a small office building behind the subway/verizon building.

Streetsboro, eh? GTFO! I graduated from Mogadore in `91 :p

We're having a get together friday at The Boneyard up on Rt 82 @6pm if you can make it.

YES I WILL BE THERE! (with license plate frame and memory card for the respective people)

Car's getting tinted today! woohoo! 20% all around. will try to get pics but with the rain, may not be worth the effort.

For anyone interested, i was going through some of the computer components i have laying around and will be putting them up on ebay. If anyone here is interested, let me know.

2gb of 400MHz Corsair DDR2 ram
2gb of 800MHz Corsair DDR2 ram
1gb 7950GX2 EVGA video card
2.4GHz AMD64 single core processor
Linksys router (not wireless)

havent even thought about prices but probably would be just as happy giving you the stuff if you wanted it. never feel right about selling stuff to friends.

Well... my little trip to Arkansas was awful. After finishing up TJ's car and my exhaust at around 11pm on friday I hit the road. 850 miles down in 15 hours (I took a 2 hour nap). Got there... found my flight back was cancelled, so rented a car and drove back last night... another 740 miles.
The purpose of the trip was to drop off a truck to my brother who just got restationed in little rock and he wanted to buy a good used vehicle. 10 minutes after I leave and head east and he heads back to little rock, the truck breaks down. Powerloss, misfires, exhaust codes... basically your fear after you buy a used car. So... a pretty freakin' awful weekend for me. . . I bet I go out to the 8 and it'll be flooded for some reason. . .

John: how was mazdafest?

Banned: I'd love to see the pics of the tint when you get it done - you better be there on friday so I can check it out in person.

Simic - that would be sweet if you bought buniques RX8... i get commission for posting that link though.

streetrx8 - welcome to the club.

I think that is all...

Ha, its like we swapped then... I went high school at Hudson (fancy!) and now I live down in North Canton. I did a few months in the 'Boro though, and a year in a Massillon.

Joyriding is not something that we do. We are responsible drivers.

Joyriding does not indicate not obeying traffic laws.... it is simply a drive for no apparent reason.

edit: or are we calling that a cruise these days?

I ****** joyride bitches! laws? lol, wut?**

I'll be there steve. Hopefully not only with new tint but also new shifterboot, kill switch and a catch can (both of which referencing our local member's DIYs) fully installed... depending on if the stuff gets delivered this week.

looks like the sun is trying to come out. might post pics later if possible.

** i don't condemn or condone how anyone drives, where they drive, what they drive, who they drive. i'm gonna smile when i hear you're having fun doing your thing. I'm not the one to judge you. I've either done it as well or am planning / hoping to in the future. If it's something i hadn't thought of before, believe me, i'll try it after hearing about it.
