LOL!
I know, I've just always refered to the trunk part that open as the trunk deck or trunk lid.
Not so much a hatch, unless it is actually a hatch. It's ok, I forgive you though. You still got some Tibby blood running through your veins

I can think of another. In a conversation I had with a friend about the components of a rotary engine, he mentioned that it was pretty cool that the engine really only had a few moving parts, one of which he referred to as the "crankshaft". I couldn't let it slide, "It's called the eccentric shaft, dude." He insisted it was called a crankshaft. "Nope, it's the eccentric shaft. Look it up". This went on for a good 20 minutes or so until my buddy was irritated and I was laughing. Poor GM technician....

Mazda refers to it as the eccentric shaft ----> "...Measure the end play of the eccentric shaft using a dial gauge..." - Mazda Service Manual: Eccentric Shaft End Play Inspection, BHE011011D01E02
That was my point. Nice try.

They don't, I was just being an ***.
The eccentric shaft is closer to a camshaft then it is to a crankshaft if you think about it a little bit. That's pretty much the reason I said that.
And yeah, the hail sucked ***. Thank god it only lasted about 2-3 minutes and they weren't any bigger then a bb.

next time, don't pick on ym hatch =p
no hard feelings... i'll buy ya a beer friday.
In the Wankel engine, also called a rotary engine, the rotors drive the eccentric shaft, which can be considered the equivalent of the crankshaft in a piston engine.
