Good news / Bad news on my weekend RX8 activities. Good news is that I no longer have a coolant leak. I pulled off my upper rad hose and recut it and redid the sensor. I also now have constant power to my gauges so they retain their memory and don't beep constantly at me when I leave my keys in the ignition and the engine off.
Bad news is some of my new coolant hoses either could use the OEM clamps (hoses too big) or wouldn't fit my water temp sensor (hoses too small). Also I pulled out my sensors from their connectors on the water temp so that isn't working anymore (but its not beeping at me!)
The automotic blade fuse taps I got from Radio Shack were too big. They wouldn't fit into the opening for our fuses. So I just rigged a wire in there. Works good enough for me. Oh and I grounded my water temp adapter directly but obviously can't tell if it's helping the temps since the connctors aren't connecting.
I'm gonna get a smaller water temp adapter and some new hose clamps and then redo all my coolant hoses and redo my coolant since most of the water wetter is probably gone and I'm probably down to 20/80 coolant/water.
Still planning on taking her to Nelsons on Saturday. Weather looks like it might be a little dicey though.
PS. Those OEM hose clamps are a PITA to get off or put back on.

Ok...I ordered RacingBeat radiator screens. To install I need to pull the front bumper and stuff. When I/we do this...I would like to replace the bulbs for the parking lights and fogs with HIDs. Anyone have suggestions on which I should buy?

how much were those screens? i've been considering getting as well, just not put much effort into looking up yet. Could make a day of screen installing if i get them soon / you want to wait.

Assuming you're talking about just changing to LEDs, not doing an HID conversion of your foglights...
Avoid autolumination LEDs...
I went back to incandescent bulbs after my flashing blue ones and then my hyper white ones lasted a week...
You can send them back and they'll send you more crappy bulbs....

I don't know how much the front bumper removal will help with the parking lights... its best just to ask megan or someone else with small hands to help. I was able to change mine a few times.
The fogs will probably be pretty easy to change with the bumper off. I was looking at taking the front wheels off, removing the wheel well lining off and going in that way. Mine look all burnt or something... its odd.

And it's only 1 radiator screen. The other two are your oil cooler screens. Glad you're getting them as I almost pulled the trigger on this the other week. Now I'll get to see 'em before I buy 'em. I think Ted got them as well. At least for the oil coolers.

Weird. It's only $97 for the full set from RB. Not sure how much shipping is but it's not that much. Fluid might be able to get them as well since he sells other RB parts.

Apologies in advance if I've missed the post (being a noob and all) but are there recommendations for shops that do good alignment work in the Cleveland area?

Enger Tire sponsors the NORA racing group in the area and has good technicians that will know how to do a sport alignement.
Where are you at? Ever jump out in Garrettsville?

Best place to go is white wheels on lorain rd just north of 71 and 150th. Little pricey but great work. There's also a place in tallmadge called the alinement shop. Enger is fine if you just want a stock alignment but without the nora discount they aren't gonna be a lot cheaper than a custom alignment shop.

Thanks. I was planning the following set-up for my alignment:
Front camber -1.4 (L/R)
Front caster ~6.5
Front toe zero
Rear camber -1.9 (L/R)
Rear toe 0.08 (L/R)
Thrust 0
I was planning to put Tanabe GF's on as well as the progress Tech sways beforehand. I am hoping that the 14%/27% (F/R) spring rate increase and the adjustable sways will let me bring the car to neutral/oversteer than stock.
As far as perfectly good airplanes - I've seen the maintenance records! I'll keep my chute. My base is Selfridge up in Michigan, although I'm over on the east side here.

If your tracking it you may want to go all the way to -2 camber all round.
