Anytime Doc...you've got some good kids there.
Josh - Was good to see you again. Hope you and your lady friend had a good time killing cones today.

No problem Jon, I figure you have about as many hours logged into working on my as I do.
Thanks Doc for taking me on the course walk and giving me some solid advice. I def. felt pretty prepared.
Thanks to John Megan and Brian also, I know we all had autocross conversations in the past.
Now starts the quest of improving my times...

It was good seeing all you guys too, fun to hang out with a bunch of fellow 8 drivers and drive auto-x again.
John: Ya I had a good time i only killed a few cones haha and my girlfriend had a good time riding along with me and doc.
Thanks again to doc for giving her a bonus ride so she didn't have to get stuck with my slow driving skills haha.
Good seeing you all again and hopefully I'll get a chance to meet up with you guys again before I go to work at camp again for the summer.

Doc,
I know you were talking to me about my car backfiring today at the autocross, but I figure I'd let you know that your's was backfiring pretty good too when Ki was driving it.
I noticed it when I was sitting watching the runs in the first session.
just an fyi

From what I read it could work. Just have to make sure that the OD of the tire doesn't change too much. This should help...

Did those numbers work for you or were they too dark? If they worked you can definitely keep them. And I've got some more of the paper if you ever want to make a 1 for them. Sounded like you had someone codriving on Saturday.

He didn't use them. When I got there he had printed out numbers on the car.
I still hve them in the bag. I can either give them to you the next time I see you or have Megan get them to you sometime this week or something like that.

Props to the new auto-xers this weekend! Josh, it was nice meeting you, I didn't get a chance to see your runs
Steve - great job ...Definitely getting the hang of it really quick!
Again, thanks to Brian for letting me beat on the 8..
Doc, I sorry, I missed your runs for the most part
Great seeing everyone this weekend!

Yeah, was a really fun time. I think Jon even had fun in his ride along with me... despite the entire sport being silly driving around parking lots dodging cones, lol.
I think I "drank the kool-aid" and put all of the autoX dates on my calendar. Won't be able to make them all, but most.
Top priority right now though is to purchase a winter car... boo!
DB: I can't see my left hand in the pic... maybe i'm adjusting myself? Cool pic though, looks like I'm trying to sneak up on that cone.

Steve...I did notice one thing that you were doing "wrong" in one of the photos. Brian, Megan, Doc, et all correct me if I am wrong, but your hands shouldn't leave the wheel but to shift. It's the only thing that I saw on the photos though. Again...great job this weekend!
The position allows you to completely turn your wheel without removing your hands. If you have to cross your hands over to get your wheel to completely rotate you're eventually going to hit cones (or on a track get an off-track excursion) if you have to crossover regularly.
And don't wrap your thumbs around the wheel.
You don't want your thumbs wrapped because they have a tendency to break if you hit something hard.
It will seem really, really awkward when you start doing it but eventually you'll wonder WTF you were doing sitting back so far. Even though my GF is shorter than me I have to push the chair forward when I drive her car because it feels so weird.
