The AP dual res sounds like *** too. If you don't want the attention though you really should just wait and get a quality product. There is no reason to rush it.

Yeah, its worth it to wait for the RB midpipe. Chances are it'll hold its value also, most of the racing beat products do.

However, I liked Jon's exhaust note so much I just copied it. First found a mazsport and paid essentially a new price for a used pipe because they're not making anymore. (Honestly, I didn't the Racing Beat pipe would be as good as it is). After putting the mazsport pipe on... I realized my cat back was also not what I wanted, so I had to order the AP. And I stress "Had to".

And, just to muddy the waters a bit more. Corksport has a midpipe coming out also. Though it doesn't appear to be a serious competitor to the new RB pipe.

Seriously, at this point in the game, you may as well wait until the end of summer when someone will maybe part out their car and you can pick-up a mazsport while you're on the RB waiting list (unless they require pre-payment and you think your cross member supports provide a lot of rigidity.)

It's only taking a few weeks for RB to ship last I checked. Order it now. It's 375 shipped. Worst case scenario is that you get it and decide to sell it but 375 is about what you're going to pay for a used Mazsport shipped and there are NO other midpipes on the market that don't sound like racing pipes.

You don't want to **** off your parents, you don't want to get pulled over, and you probably wouldn't mind being able to pass your next EPA inspection. So go with the RB and eventually get yourself an MM tuned Accessport and you'll even cut down the smell to something almost not noticeable.

Stealth is good.

Dug this up on the "looking for a dual resonated midpipe" thread

But by no means think this is an endorsement of the corksport. I say get whatever you want. Like I said at the picnic, really think about what sound you're looking for. Deep V8 sound, grunting? Or mid-range, louder, like people screaming on a roller coaster... i really don't know how to describe it.

The first time Jon and I installed my midpipe, I started the car with no mid pipe. . . you want to hear something that sounded like absolute death!

Yeah, I keep seeing the same couple of 8s cruising around here. Its always when I'm not in my 8 either... 2 black ones, the one dude works at JC penny and parks in the back right corner of the lot over two spots like a douche bag though.
Saw a yellow one too - I like yellow, but not on the 8.

I still haven't put one of those papers on another car yet. Either they're moving or I don't have them with me. . .

alright well im not sure if i can afford the RB midpipe at 375. i gotta go pay my ticket today and its a nice 117$ thats why im looking at the AP and the exoticspeed. and my parents didnt care about the loudness of it at all, actually my dad liked when i had your pipe on my car steve, he liked the loudness of it but the flames part and made him uncomfortable and the rattle and smell were the things that were bad.
but your right, the exoticspeed does sound bad but im pretty fond of the d/r AP one, i just wanna know what it'll sound like on my greddy se exhaust. quieter i'd imagine cuz mine's pretty quiet and so far ive heard em only on louder exhausts like AP and hks and borla.

Terrible is a better description of the sound. Annoying, loud, grating, etc. all fit as well. Your exhaust is actually difficult to know how it'll sound with different midpipes because it's raspier than either the RB, AP, or Borla that the rest of us have. I believe there's a few reports of it sounding better with some of the less expensive, single resonated pipes.

If you don't mind the noise and there's nothing I can say to convince you to go a different route then get whatever is cheapest and then spend your money on a -tuned- AP by Mazdamaniac which will thin out the excess fuel causing the smell to be reduced along with the likelihood of flames. You can't eliminate the flames (that's what a cat does) but they'll normally be smaller and less noticeable unless you are trying for them.

Honestly though if you're trying to reduce the number of times you have to talk to a uniformed officer the last thing you should get is a midpipe.

Nope. And the price for that (and any resonated midpipe) is going to be comparable to the RB one. The price of the steel necessary just to withstand the heat coming off our engine exhaust has gotten to the point that any new pipe is going to be at least a few hundred bucks. I'll be shocked if BHR is able to get under 300 and their is single resonated.

I rated you!

I actually used a trader rating years ago when I played Diablo. It made it very easy to identify good people to trade items with and should help identify anybody who's a total schmuck and anyone who's a very, very good person to deal with.

They do need to require a URL to the deal though. Silly to let people rate someone for a deal that wasn't shown here.

Nope.
With my single resonated AP mid-pipe I could have, but I pressed in the clutch while passing cops and drove around one gear higher to tone it down.
