I have to get with Yulia for all the final prices.
I remember her quoting a nice price for everything.
Did you want just the pool table?
I believe I have pics of what we're selling... let me look...

Yup...just the pool table. Buddy is moving out of his apartment and into a house with a couple people and he was looking for one. I will happily defer to anyone in the club and even pass along a different price if that is what you want Jon.

Here is what we wanted to sell with the pool table:
Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-pool-table.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-starter-kit.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-stick-holder.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-light.jpg
  • The table is a Billiards Legacy (I believe the Destroyer series)
  • Starter Kit
  • Heritage Corner rack
  • Billiard light

So let me know what we wants out of this and what he is looking at spending.
We'll see if this is something within his spending range.
Also, I believe it cost $360 to disassemble, transport, and reassemble.
I HIGHLY recommend it because there is a lot to building/leveling a pool table.
Not to mention its 1" slate.
I believe its an extra $60 if he wants to change the felt color

Here is what we want to sell with the bar:
Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-bar3.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-bar.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-bar2.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-chair.jpg Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.-cab.jpg

A Legacy Billiards classic bar and a Legacy Elite stool (I cry just thinking about how much these cost alone).
If you're really curious on pricing, just go up to your local Lighthouse store and look (that is where I got all of these)

Sorry to hear you're getting rid of that stuff, Jon.

"The stuff you own, ends up owning you."

Anyway, speaking of buying stuff. . . Brice never got back me with yesterday.

So, I think we'll be doing this install with the old adjusters.

Unfortunately, these items limit my living selections.
You always have to consider room for a pool table and bar, so you pay more for more square footage just to accommodate this stuff.
Its a pain constantly moving this stuff and I don't see myself settling in a place soon.
Plus, the money will help pay off what is still owed (yes I'm still paying it off).

Yeah. . . that makes pretty good sense. I used to be able to fit everything I owned in the back seat+Trunk of my civic coupe.
I mean, its cool, but on another level it sucks knowing I have accumulated crap. In 2 years, I've gone from 1 car load to probably 2-3 trips with a truck, plus additional vehicles. It just sucks knowing that I have to either move all of that crap, or sell all of that crap if I want to relocate.

Freedom > Stuff

You should take the money and buy a supercharger! Do it.

Sad thing is, I really liked the way these wheels looked on my car, slightly fatter wheel with a bigger sidewall... idk.

300 = good price!

Jon liked the look of them too!

Did you ever post the video of the exhaust testing? I mean, I know you said you wanted to re-shoot it, but I just want to hear how my car sounds cause I'm selfish.

Also... does anyone know if there was any real product testing done between sway bars? I know Ryan had the progress ones... I guess I'm just curious if any brand is proven to help on the skidpad or something. Making my winter list...
Trying to decide on a header also, it'll most likely be Racing beat, though.

Steve do you happen to know if those wheels will fit other mazdas, or any other car for that matter?

I was thinking of taking them to a neighborhood garage sale as well, but I am stupid when it comes to these sort of things.

The bolt pattern will fit Mazda 3's and 6's, but depending on the offset, diameter and witdh combination they might not clear the fenders.

What are the specs?

Actually I think I'll take them. Easier than having to get new tires for the OEM wheels I have.

'Product Testing' for sways is actually pretty extensive because the different AutoX people have used them. RB, Progress, and the Whitesomething sways got the best reviews.

Header's are pretty much a waste for a stock 8. Performance gains are basically gonna be the same as an exhaust. Dynos for headers on FI cars show significant gains though.

Unless you believe Eric Meyer who says that the KONI team got the best gains when they replaced their headers. Check out the After Market section for a post on like a 223 HP 8 or something like that that Eric made.

Wheels are 17x7s I think... I don't remember the tire size or offset. Should be pretty minimal.

Yeah, but with the Koni challange header they were using an extremely long primary and/or collector.

Basically from what I gathered when that thread was active was that the header used was the length of the current header + at least half the length of the midpipe....

The aftermarket production units are made to bolt up to the cat. The primaries and collector aren't long enough to get decent gains out of them. To get Meyer's results you would have to do a custom 1 off setup.

And while I agree with everything you said Brian...I think Eric's point still stands. The point being that the header can offer some serious gains when done properly. Whether or not anyone has done one properly yet I don't know...which I think is what Steve was trying to find out.

Really, i'm just trying to figure out which one to purchase... however, for a long collector that means that you need to have a custom midpipe. Could I buy a header and then add a few inches of collector pipe on the end? Sure... but what about the midpipe? then what about the sound? and then what about putting a cat back on when if I sell it?????

So... i don't know Racing beat would make one if it didn't offer some gains... but i could be wrong.

John, exactly. If it is done properly and enough research is put into it, it can produce decent gains. I don't deny that. But the ones out there right now for the RX-8 are minimal at best. you may see a hp or three, but the research just hasn't been put in to yeild more than that..

Steve, also on that note, just because it is produced does not mean it will net you any additional hp. Take the intakes for this car for example. I thought I remember reading that some of the aftermarket intakes for the RX-8 will actually cause you to lose some hp.... I've been looking for a header (since it is STX legal) but the thing is it's just like an intake... If I find a used one at a decent price I may buy it, but I'm not about to buy one brand newfor such little return. Hell, the only reason I have a catback on my car now is because I got it for like almost dirt cheap. I would never have bought it if I didn't get such a decent price on it.

Now, if someone comes out with a header that puts out decent hp, then I may consider buying one new. Untill then I'm content with finding a used one or just waiting for a better unit to come out.
