I have received a Bandolier of Carrots once. It contained an LED flashlight that took no batteries (you have to jerk it off for it to charge itself), a mousebad of the American flag, a PCMCIA Wireless B card, laptop accessories, a Logitech quick connect cable I can't use, a demotivational book (not an official one...just a dumb book about how you suck) and something else that I can't remember...maybe a woot monkey.
One coworker got one of those dinosaur bots that they were pushing for a while, a cordless phone with answering machine and a Demotivational Book (see above). Another got a bunch of iPod accessories and a book.

^So your PCMCIA card was the most "usable" item.
The Woot Monkey was the "coolest" item.
And the "jerk off" flashlight was an item that benefited in more than one way.
I love Woot-Offs! One of our Techs bought the USB Woot-Off lights to have in our Tech Room!
Bastard hasn't brought them in yet.

PCMCIA card isn't actually usable for me as I already had a SuperG PCMCIA card. The woot monkey started my collection I have in my living room. And the flashlight is actually the thing used the most.

I have never tracked it. Too scared of messing it up. And as far as a starter, i have yet to order it, mine still works for the most part. 5min cold start on bad days. 2 mins on good days. But here is a link to a good starter. A bit pricy i think.

I'd have the seller verify it's a N3Z1-18-400 (upgraded) but for $100 it'll probably get you through at least one more year.

I got my upgraded on EBAY from a Mazda dealership on the West Coast. Got it for around 275 or so. Mazda stopped selling the upgraded starters sometime last year so now you can only get random starters from places that stocked up like Mazmart or get refurbs which will work much better than the 04/05 starter but not quite as good as the upgraded starters.
I just put in my 3rd Duralast Gold battery since 2006. I bought a new battery from Autozone a month after getting the car in 06. Then I replaced that in spring of 07 when the car wouldn't start after it's first winter storage. That one was going before I got the upgraded starter and Optima battery in January. This one was the last to have to get drained by the old starter and they've all been warrantied. Best $80 I ever spent.

Yeah, your starter is pretty bad Steve. I'd get a new one of those before I pulled the plug on some track wheels. srsly.
Oh btw, I "may" be able to lend a hand tomorrow. tentative, but I think it may be doable.

Yeah, like I have a freaking warranty.
But I also don't want to spend 400 bucks on a gay starter.
Also, you should come, I'll bring you some cold beers, what brand you like?

That may still be better than what you have. I gotta check out a post ASH made for me when I was shopping to find out what version I had and what you'd be getting.
Actually Jon might know too since he still has my core.
Here ya go:
https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...27&postcount=5
Find out if it's an 400A or not.
EDIT: And I don't think Jon used all of mine. You might want to take yours off and have him look at it. Possible to combine whats left of my old one with yours and make it better than it is.
EDITEDIT: And enroll with Mazda Comp and get a reman. starter for less the the mazmart one. Can't remember how much less but I want to say around 200.

Mazdaspeed competition. Sign up for free, send in a couple AutoX timeslips each year, and you get 'discounted' go-fast parts. I say discounted because some of the crap is more expensive then you get at some dealerships but there are great deals there as well.
Only rules are you have to keep submitting timeslips each year you run your car and you can't buy for any car other than the one you have registered. You're also supposed to put some vinyls on when you run but something tells me it won't matter for a while.

You can always 'rebuild' your starter.
Login to the site then go here and get the parts you need once you have Jon take it apart and tell you what's broke.
Or get the 400a for $260 bucks. Save ya a small chunk over the one Mazmart sells.

Oh and you can get the 09 starter
Or a remanned starter from 07
Remanned 07

Doc, My plan is to head out around 7 to be there by 8 and get started. Hopefully I can have some progress made before Jon gets there...
I have to take my 8 because "hopefully" we'll get to install my rear sway, endlinks, and brake pads . . .
Also, Can I borrow your brake fluid bag? I have some stainless brake lines on the way and I won't be at autocross on Sunday.![Doh](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/doh.gif)
Jon: I can always pick you up in "the Buro" if you'd like.

Alright,
Yes i can lift the car up friday night and try to get some things done assuming i can get my hands on some tall jacks...
I have 2 garages at my establishment so we will be using the rear one which ill clean out a lil, its a 2 car garage and only my car will be in it. Plenty of room, ill also pull my surround sound out so we can listen to some music (macbook pro + ipod touch remote win)
TOOLS:
I have quite a few sockets however in the years ive had them many of them have gone missing, though ive mixed them all together so we should be ok there. If you have a socket kit, bring it, just in case. Hammers and **** (though i hope thats not needed). Drain buckets and stuff should not be an issue, i also have gojo soap =)
The day:
Assuming i can get the car lifted and everything setup the night before we can start as early as you guys want. 9am sounds fine. If you need to take a nap because you have 3rd shift *hint* i have a guest bedroom in my house if you get that desperate. Food / drink will be provided, if you want beer, bring it... im hoping we will be done before 5pm but for those of you who drink all hours of the day, bbyb <<not 21 cant buy>>
WHERE:
12648 main market road burton ohio 44021
If your coming from 422 EAST... im right on the other side of a huge lake called ladue... 3rd driveway up the hill on the left. ( i assume most of you will be coming from this way) You will run into 44 right before the lake.
Bring anyone you like, i have a huge driveway and will order as much food as necessary... Weather should be fair.

OK, I'm taking the kids to practice shooting. We'll stop by on the way out. Tim's is just past my office (at 44)
For you city folk who might not be familiar, that area is just past Auburn Twp and is Troy Twp. It's a Burton PO Box. If you go up to Burton, you'll be all confused.
Doug, you should stop by and meet the guys. Not far for you at all.
