I'll probably run with SCR a lot next year, as well as NEO SCCA (rumors are they may pick back up their autocross program) Hell, if needed I'll drive down to Columbus and run with OVR. It doesn't matter to me, just as long as NORA doesn't get my money.
I'm just tired of the drama cloud that surrounds NORA, and if someone speaks up about a bad expierence, then they try and push it under the rug. They are all about covering the asses of the wrong people. Nobody can speak about a bad experience (even if it was a fluke one) or post up their opinion without the *** kissers and the suckups trying to tell you that you are wrong. It's amazing too, because those same people that are kissing up to the heads in charge are the same people that will get stomped on and dropped at the flick of a switch.
Case in point, my botched alignment.... That was the final straw with me. Without going into details we'll just say Conrads fucked my **** up. I'd long into NORA to copy/paste the thread that got locked because I went againt "gods will" but I don't even want to log into that shitty organizations site. That group needs a MAJOR restructure before I'll ever think about giving them another dime.

Well when we were out in Lorain I was surprised to see the same ole NORA ppl. I thought you were running out there to get away from them. There is just this attitude that seems to permiate through a lot of them. Like the d00d that yelled at me during the afternoon session because I wasn't behind the white line. Man...Ive been to enough of these events to know where not to stand. The places I was in the morning on the inside of a turn sure were a whole lot safer than where I was stuck in the afternoon on the outside of that turn. I think they all need to go take a physics class. Might help some of them with their driving too.

Seriously though... I agree that running other events may be an interesting option, but at the same time. If you jamie doc and I are all running STX, it would be pretty fun.
I'd also like to hear more about this alignment that Conrads did. I'm planning on using my NORA discount to get the Bronco's new wheels and tires mounted and balanced and get the little guy aligned before winter... if they suck, I won't make the trip.
Sorry about the dealership not finding anything yet... did you tell them that you already dye tested it and you know where its leaking... maybe just tell them to dye test it themselves...
Man do I hate dealers.

Oh yeah, Ryan, I bought that starter that you posted a few pages ago and it arrived today. With the information I got from the VIN, figured it was an '06, and thus had the upgraded starter, and sure enough, it is! So score one for me!
Jon: The starter install seems pretty easy, unhook the battery, un hook the starter stuff, remove two screws, install new starter, wire back into place, reconnect battery... Start? Right?

OK, update on the car...
They ordered a new front oil seal.... Should be here on Monday..
My only concern is this. I just went through the Service Manual for the 8, and found the procedure for the rear seal, but there wasn't one listed for the front seal.
Should I be worried?
EDIT: In leafing through my parts manual, it's part # N3A1-10-507 woot. Page 12 of 305 in the pdf

The thing is, just as the conversation was starting to head down the right track, they decided to lock it.
It could have been a fluke incident, I don't know. I do know that Bryan offered to fix the car and correct the problem, which I appreciate and will probably take him up on the offer.
The thing that really pisses me off is that basically before I even had a chance to explain what had happened and rationally talk about it, all the ******* fanbois started to jump in and call me out for bringing up a matter as such IN PUBLIC.. They also questioned my mechanical knowledge. I lol'd at that though...
I don't care if it was a one time thing that will never happen again, or an ongoing thing that could happen to numerous people. It happened and people should know. The simple fact that Bryan offered to correct said mistake and own up to it before even getting a chance to look at it speak worlds and I appreciate it. He did the right thing, too bad I was never able to OPENLY state that on the forum because the moderator ****'s decided to lock the tread.
That's why they can go **** themselves. It's a cover your *** game over there, where all they care about is how they can keep business around and HUSH HUSH the guy that has a legitimate gripe.
I was basically told it should have never been brought to the attention of the club and should have been dealt with through pm's because it wasn't a public affair...... Well sorry, it's a public business with paying members. People should know

As for STX steve, you aren't gonna win anything, you don't have enough events to qualify for points trophies at the end of the season. Also, unless Jamie runs Domo's car in STX he won't be in STX next year as I am not running with NORA anymore, unless **** makes a DRASTIC CHANGE in management over there and all the faggy fanbois learn to get off the ******** of the organization and start thinking for themselves.

Oh: as for the alignment. They cross threaded the rear camber bolts (I saw the smashed threads) and tightened down the nuts and bolts so tight that I could NOT move my lower control arm at all. The bushings are bound s of right now and I couldn't lower the rear spindle enough to remove the coilover off of it in order to raise it up so I can clear the lift and tow truck. that's how this whole thing started..
Like I said though, Bryan stepped forward and wants to fix it, so that is a very good thing.

And I think you have the starter change down pat except for the part where you have to get all the rust removed from the bolts, lose a few parts down a drain hole, and end up finding the bolt you lost cleaning your manifold jammed in the starter motor.

I really don't have a response to the rest as I don't really know any of the NORA people much nor do I really know much about the organization as a whole. It cool that Conrads is going to try to make it right.
I guess I just don't know enough about NORA, nor do I care enough about NORA to really have any strong feelings one way or another. I'm in a good location to drive North or south for any additional events.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of going with Stance GR+ Coilovers vs the new Springs along with my Koni Yellows.
The main thing I can see is adjustability.
I don't want to lower my car as much as Brian did. So I don't see that as much of an advantage. The Progress Springs should lower the car about 1", which seems like a good amount, to me.
I'm dumb about this stuff, so your help is appreciated!!!!!

I asked Brian about springs also because I wanted a bit more of a drop (or so I thought) than the H-Techs offered.
The Progress AutoX springs are a progressive spring, which means they get stiffer the more you compress them. Now, Brian gets credit for this, but the progressive spring will make the car less predictable because its non-linear.
The advice I got, which makes sense to me, was get the firmest, linear spring you can find. Progressive springs are a compromise between performance and ride comfort. Read: start out soft, and get firmer the more harder you drive... which makes it less predictable.
I think I'm going to stick with the H techs for awhile. . . but that won't stop me from researching.
