June FTW!
Sucks though... the fees and red tape nonsense at those places is horrid. Same with the title office. I actually had to get power of attorney over the Bronco because the guy i bought it from wrote "Steve Vyn" instead of my proper legal name "Stephen"... that was a fun ordeal. I know the rules are the rules, but if they're going to be that picky, the document should come with instructions.

I guess the main question is....
I didn't renew the tags for the ST in May. I figured I'd wait untill I got the car running before I dropped dime on the stickers.
Will I have to pay the late fee, or will I be grandfathered in since my birthday was before the official date of release?

hey guys hows it goin?
Jon, everytime that happens, i just crow bar it, pops right off. use the rubber and pad housing for leverage, pops right off.
I see you guys mention a track. and cones. that could be fun. not right now, as i already put my 8 away. jacked up on block so thre no dry rot on the tires from touching the ground.
as far as the battery issue. it charges, the more i run it, the longer it lasts. havent checked the trunk idea yet. could be other things un common things. theres been times when the turbo timer would shut the car down. then like 5 secs later. the fan would come on. haha.
That AEM intake looks nice. mine stops right where the intake box used to be. and id have to get Blue on black. considering my drive pulleys are blue.

Well, started on the doner 8 tonight...
Nearly everything in front of the pulleys is trashed. Battery is pushed pretty far into the alternator, but the lower pulleys inline with the E-shaft look okay. Front Sway is in good shape as is the suspension. I spent most of the time picking out parts from the fuse box, PCM, and Battery box/undertray as all those plastic bits just shattered everywhere.
Not quite sure which method of industrial persuasion to use on the battery though, the frame is bent along with it... I don't think I can bend it back, so its looking like a saw will be in order.

There are some assorted parts that are good though... hopefully the alternator took the blunt of the force into the engine and it didn't transfer down the e-shaft like the newton's ***** people have on their desks.
All of you are more than welcome to come down and take a look or help out.

Steve, I'm REALLY good at tearing **** apart.
If you want we can schedule a play date for Saturday.
I can almost bet money that by the time I leave the car doesn't have an engine or transmission in it anymore, along with other assorted ****.
I'll pack up my travel toolbox with some **** and head down if you want.

Okay, sounds good. I'll be down here at the shop around 10am then.
I need a reciprocating saw before I can get much further... remember, this isn't a smash/cut/rip project (despite seeing my rubber mallet in the picture). I want to be able to save/use/sell as much of this as I can.
I also need to rig up a way to test some of the components to make sure that they still work. I pulled off the smashed horn yesterday and wondered if it still work, so saved it for later testing.
I assume you're not going to Northfield this sunday?

Im down for helpin on Sunday Steve if you decide to not go to the autox. As for testing things...I would just plug most of them in on your car and see what happens. As for testing a horn you just have to apply a DC voltage to it...should be 12v...but check the shop manual.

Jon - I'm sure I have something down here at the shop I can use to cut through steel.
Hows the finger?
I'm planning on going Sunday. . . but my plans have a habit of changing... but I'd like to go before putting the 8 up for the winter.
I guess I'll just pull out an extra car battery and hope I get the wires correct.

Still swollen and black/blue.
I'm thinking about buying/trading my transmission with your donor if we can work something out.
Mine is fine during normal driving, but any quick "spirited" driving is hard to get into gears.
I was also thinking about buying a front caliper too since mine was seized a couple years ago.
I haven't looked at it this year but it should be changed out.
But I don't plan on doing anything more to the car this year so this gives us plenty of time to work out prices and agreements.

Steve.
Yeah, I know it's a "save as much stuff as you can to sell" job, that's definately the primary objective here.
Would you like me to bring power tools, aka impact and stuff like that?
I can definately do 10am, same place as the suspension install?
As for Sunday, I am undecided yet. We can talk about that on Saturday, away from the forums were prying eyes can see.
As far as the horn, do you have a 9v battery laying around? Just use that to test the the horn lulz

Jon, sounds good, we'll work it out.
Brian: we'll talk about it Saturday when you come down. Bring your tools... hell of a lot faster than me running around shop searching for ****.
BlackTurbo - feel free to stop on down if you'd like. Alliance is pretty close to Canton.
---------------
I was thinking about the soul of this beast... is there anyway that we can run the engine once we get it pulled out? The ECU is smashed to bits, what are the other possibilities?

I may be attending as well Steve, i'm not uber technical, but can lend a hand where needed. I'm assuming the first part is using my car as the transport car for Brian because of speed bumps
Either way, I'd love to come and learn some more. Hell, maybe I'll bring some food of some sort :]

Sure, come on down... I'm sure you can find a set of wheels to clean around here someplace!
j/k.
I will put a plan of attack together so we're not all just tripping over each other.
As for the speed bumps... there won't be room inside the back bay for everyone, so we'll probably park out front.
Anyone have jack stands that they won't need for a few months?

Need an engine stand? I have two of them. I can loan you one so you don't have to leave the Renni sitting on the floor and potentially dent the oil pan.
I'd loan you my jack stands, but knowing my luck as soon as I gave them to you I would need them. Plus depending on how long it takes for you to do the teardown I may be screwed as I'm putting the 8 in the garage in about a month here for the winter.

Ok, here's the rundown folks:
I'm 85% sure the 8 is going bye-bye within the next day or so. I need to do the aftermarket/OEM swap sometime tonight or early afternoon tomorrow. That being said, I'd like to put whomever is interested in the intake and sways on standby.
I'll be home from work tonight around 7:30pm and home from my clinical rotation around 1:30 tomorrow afternoon but am pretty pressed for time then.
I'm thinking that the front bar might be too much of a P.I.T.A. to fumble with, but the intake and rear sway shouldn't be trouble at all. Ideas??
Remember, I'll need your OEM rear bar and bushings. I think when I took the VFAD out with the old intake the nipple attaching the hose to the unit snapped off. I'll see if I can epoxy it back on, but I might need your OEM part. I'll take a look at it later tonight.
As for $$:
$75 + OEM bar for rear sway and bushings
$100 for the intake
