Tony,
I'll definately take the intake if you get rid it off. If you need any of the VFAD stuff let me know as I yanked mine a loooong time ago, and it's just sitting there collecting dust. heh.
I'd offer to help out but I have a benifit dinner thing I'm going to tonight, or else I'd be all over you getting the stuff swapped.

I meant, "all over helping you get the parts swapped" As in I would come up and lend a hend if needed. hahaha
Apparently I forgot to type the "helping" part.

Well, last night was fun.
I got to see half of the RX8 Club last night!
Drove to Y-Town to pick up OEM sways + VFAD parts from Brian+Megan.
Drove through Twinsburg/Hudson to drop some parts off to Jon.
Drove then to Euclid to exchange parts with Tony.
Good times!
Also discovered since Jon and I replaced my SSV, the car has been using some coolant. Time to figure out where that crap is going.

All my clothes are junk.
I own two focuses and an rx-8. I dare you to find one shirt or pair of pants I own that DOESN'T have an oil stain on it somewhere.
This weekend should prove interesting.
PS: Doc you owe me a rear sway bar

No time, literally. Tony got the word yesterday at 12.30 that he would be trading the car in today at 3.30.
So, I worked until 5ish, went to dinner real quick with the fam. Then jumped in the car to Y town which put me there at like 8.30ish, then back on the road at 9ish after getting parts and $$... stopped for gas and to drop parts off to jon at 9.30ish. Arrived at Tony's at around 10.15... then back home by 11.15.
No time home slice.

So, just to confirm for saturday...
I have Megan and Brian coming down.
Jon was a maybe I think.
John has to work.
Josh, are you coming down?
I cleaned up the bay as best as I could. . . well, not, i just swept **** into the corners... but we should be able to fit 4-5 cars in there.
Brian, if you have room, bring your air compressor just so we don't have to stop talking while the air compressors are running for the building.
Also, A reciprocating saw would be a superb idea.
I'm probably going to go buy another set of jack stands from harbor freight today.
Also, Brian... if we're pulling the motor maybe... how we going to get the transmission out? I don't have a trans. jack and that's the only way I've ever done it.

Still a maybe... more like probably.
I can bring mine if nobody else is.
Have someone laying on their back with their knees against the bottom of the transmission.
Once its free, open your legs to let it slowly slide down (not to sound too sexual there).
Then carefully roll it off your leg and onto the floor.
Or you can be very careful with a regular jack and have someone on each side to keep it centered and not "roll" off the jack.
If anyone is interested to see what Steve and I went through to pull his SSV off, here is a thread a created:

Steve,
I can try and bring down the compressor if I can fit it in Megans car with all the other stuff I am bringing down. I'll see what I can do about that.
As for the transmission, check this... Don't pull it off the engine untill after it is out of the car. Just disconnect the driveshaft off the tranny and boom done. Yank the engine and trans as a whole unit.

Maybe its how the motor is more centered than other engines.
I believe that's what Jeff and Ray told me when I asked about doing it that way.
But I guess we have all the time to experiment
If you would feel more comfortable with the trans-jack, I can ask to pick it up tonight.

Jon, remember though, steve's donor car is missing the front end...
If we are carefull in how we pull it out, we can pull it forward further then we could with the front crash bar and all that still attached.
EDIT: Steve beat me to it
