I don't know if this weekend could have been more productive, I think.

Friday night I yanked the dying cat off the car, and prepped her for autocross. Saturday I autocrossed and celebrated my anniversary with megan.

Sunday Megan and I spent 4 hours removing a trojan from a computer, and then I got my moms brakes fixed on her car. Both caliper slides were frozen on both fronts. That sucked. Then, I diagnosed and fixed an ABS problem my dad was having on his Jeep.

I don't think I'll ever find time to get my stuff done. This weekend I have to replace all of Megans dampers in her car. Gonna need a torch for that one lol.

I will agree with you though Doc, it is nice that we have a group of people willing to help each other out. Between getting Jon and I helping with Tims car, Jon,Steve, and I helping with Johns car, Steve, Jon, and I helping with Ryans car, Ryan and I helping with Steves car, John coming down and lending a hand with my ST, Jon working on my car while I work on Steves car and Steve working on Jons car (that was classic lol) and other instances it's nice to know that you lend a hand to someone and they'll lend a hand back. It's a good group of peeps we have.

Can't you read Steve? I said I have to put new dampers on Megans car wtf!?!?! That is important to do. The dampers are going to be delivered today. The weekend is the only time I can actually do it.

I swear to god you ingrate!!!

LOL.

I may be able to help out actually. The fronts should go quick since I just put new bearing mounts on not too long ago and they should come off rather quickly.

The rears I already plan on torching off bolts and cutting ****. As long as I have a full day I should be good.

If you do need help I may be able to swing out for a few hours on Saturday and lend a hand.

Thumbs up New Home for my RX8??

All:

I am considering buying a dedicated track car. This would, for financial reasons, require that I sell my RX8. I hate to do this since the car is awesome. But I can't have everything!

It has been extremely well cared for and is in Excellent shape. I am not sure I am going to pull the trigger yet, but it looks more and more like it. I would like to find a good home for my RX8 should I do this. A lot of work has been done to the car to make it ready for the track. I am not an Autocrosser, but I think it would be perfect for STX also.

Can someone recommend places for me to post my car for sale? I would like it to go to a good home...someone that would benefit from the work done.

Have you considered the 'RX-8's For Sale/Wanted' section of this site?

Yeah. . . Unless you're able to sell on the forums, the general public won't care about the mods and work done. They'll look and blue book and NADA and determine the worth.

You're better off parting out, going back to stock, since that is what people will offer you.

Not yet. . . plans change daily on this project. I'll be there all day doing stuff, so whatever time you'd be free. You know how easy the drive is now.

Much better... not as sensitive or sore.
Should be able to remove the finger splint by the end of the month.

Clarification

I have no dilusions of getting the money out of it that I have in modifications. TYhat will not happen. I just want someone to take the work done and put it to its intended use. If you know what I mean.

in that case, i got 500 bucks, but you'll have the piece of mind knowing that I'll put the mods to good use!

And I'll still let you drive it!. . . By appointment.

Thanks Doc, I should be good though.

Also, I know a few said you would be able to come down Saturday. It looks like we'll be done with most of the painting by then, so I don't know what else there is to help with really.

Thanks though!

Doc, since you were working on the red 8 last weekend did you manage to put the new rear swaybar on? I need the stock one from your car since I gave mine to Tony so you could get the Progress rear. I found someone that wants to buy my stock bars...

^^^Right. That's what I was asking, if he got the rear swapped off.

When Tony traded his car in and Steve was kind enough to drive from Canton to Euclid to get the parts Tony was pulling off, I sent my stock front and rear bar with the brackets and bushings with him so he could get exchange them fo rthe Progress f & r sway bars. Steve gave me his FSB when we pulled it after I put on his progress fsb. I still need to get the stock rear off of Doc to replace the one I gave Tony.

I only asked because I keep bumping into a local guy around here and I finally had a talk with him yesterday, and again today. He's got an automatic rx-8 and wants to buy my stock sway bars (they are beefier lol) So I need t get the rear off of Doc so I can sell him my sways

Awesome, glad to hear the bars got put on Mark. Maybe Megan can swing by and pick the rear bar uP either thursday or friday sometime so I can get the bars to the guy by weeks end. Its been hella crazy at work and i've been working some obscure hours or else I would run up myself and grab it.

That would work out well since she is coming down this weekend so I can replace the dampers/springs/control arms/bushings and some random bolts on her car, hehe.

Mark, did you get the coilovers on yet?

The first weekend in December I will be free (5th & 6th) and would be able to help you do them then.

Megans car should be done this weekend and turkey day weekend I plan on finishing off the ST (miscelanious hoses need rerouted) and prepping the 8 for winter storage, so that weekend I will be available to help if you need it.

How did the front swap go, Doc? Did you take off the undercover before doing it and did you get help?
