I did not do the fronts, nor the coilovers yet. I did the rear, not the front. I will be deer hunting on the 5th, but Sunday the 6th would be awesome. Thanks Brian!!!! I'll make that a plan!

It'll probably take most of the day Jon. So come by anytime. You'll all love the invention I came up with for adjuster extensions. Bring your camera, Jon. We may DIY.

You're all welcome and invited to my house on Sunday December 6th to see me and Brian cuss, swear and drink beer while installing my coilovers, and maybe front sway bar. Deer steaks for lunch. And maybe pizza.

Mark,
A few questions for you...
1) What is your tool selection like? Will I need to bring anything?
2) the coilovers. Are they fully assembled or will I need to reuse the stock top hats? aka are the springs loose from the shocks right now?
C) I will need an address of said residence.

I am really getting sick of this damn website timing out and losing posts.....
Short reply...
Do you have an air compressor? If so, what is it rated at in SFM? I can bring mine if necessary, but it's on the medium large side. I will need one to use my spring compressors, unless I go buy this other compressor that I have been looking at. I'm contemplating getting it anyways as mine have seen too many years worth of use and they are starting to show it.
If you have an air compressor, do you have air tools, and if so, are they good ones? I can also bring mine if yours aren't up to par lol

We won't really need the air compressor for the most part. I did steves, ryans (twice) and mine with hand tools (even though when I did mine I had the compressor ready just in case) It will just make it go quicker though on some of the bolts. There are a few of them though that you cannot use air tools, unless you use an air ratchet.
I'll bring myspring compressor as a just in case, but potentially use it to compress the new spring and the other to do the old spring.
I pretty much have this narrowed down to a science and can do it in my sleep. I'm attempting to shoot for record time on this one.
Also, it wouldnt hurt to have the car back on the ground with the wheels on for when I get there. That way I can take measurements of the cars stock height so that way I can properly adjust the height of the car at each corner. Is your garage floor a flat level surface? If not I can account for that, as long as we make sure to put the car down in the exact spot where the measurements were taken.
It's too hard to get a proper idea of where the car will be ride height after the new suspension is put on with it off the ground because of the massive amount of wheel gap with the stock springs. (when car is in air)

Tonight at work has been eventful...
I brought my upper center console to cut-out an opening for the Lotek gauge pod I got from Ryan.
Had to hack-up his console to get it close to flush with mine so I could use that as a stencil.
Then I tried to salvage the oil pressure sender's wire harness since the wires were stripped and pulled off the pins.
Tried to recrimp the pins and even soldered them for extra measure, but that didn't help.
Damage was already done and the pins can not be reused (on either side of the harness).
So I PMed ProSport Gauges and asked them what it'll cost for just the pressure sender and the wires that go to the gauge.
Since I had the radio out (which I cussed the entire time removing it) I decided to solder the climate control's potentiometer that is known to fail due to insufficient solder in the PTH (plated through hole).
Steve already had his fail and I knew my time was coming (same thought as the clutch pedal snapping... its only time until it happens to you).
Just as I expected, one of the barrels had almost no solder fillet.
Typically you want about 75% solder fillet in a PTH and I probably had less than 10%.
Stig- I got an assortment of e-clips for your SSV.
Just let me know when you want to pick them up.

I am amazed at how much "tighter" the rear of the car is after installing the Progress sway. I remember Brian commenting to me after he installed his. I may actually have to soften it up, as there is a significant amount of oversteer now.
ALSO the new SCCA magazine has an article by ULOSE about the changes he made to go to STX. If anyone wants a list, or copy of the article, let me know.

That's awesome - thanks! I'm available pretty much any day but Monday (tomorrow). Let me know what is best for you and the address and I'll pop by.

Doc,
I'll take a look at that article if you don't mind.
Jon,
The guy i sold my SSV to is claiming to get an engine knock and his mechanic is saying that the bearing in his SSV (and my old SSV) is bad and that is what is causing the knocking sound. . .
I thought that was essentially one solid piece... I don't know.
I also didn't think to ask him if it was an auto or manual. . . so the LIM i sold him won't work either. But, I said from the get go that returns weren't a problem.
I just wanted to get your thoughts on this knocking being traced to a bad bearing in his SSV, and my SSV that never had any problems other than being dirty.

Is this the same guy?

I'm pretty sure its more like a bushing than a ball bearing.

Guess you can say I'm half way through my latest "mod"

As you can tell I have everything wired through the center console and made disconnect terminals for the three gauge's sender units.
This way I can have everything put back together without actually installing the senders themselves.
Tomorrow I might install the oil filter space plate for the oil temp and pressure, but the water temp will probably wait until Spring since that'll require me to drain the radiator so I can remove the hose.
ProSport responded to my email and I should receive a price quote on the damaged oil pressure sender soon (I just capped off the opening on the spacer plate for now).
Funny thing was I drove out to Autozone this morning and saw a yellow RX8 in my mirror.
Then I saw the 'I AM STIG' plate and laughed.
Stig- If I knew you drove down I480/SR14 to Kent I would have told you to drop by and pick-up the e-clip for the SSV.
I live literally 30sec off of the Frost Rd exit.
