Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.
well i havent gotten the code read. i talked to mazda and they gave me an estimate of 79 to 100 to scan it. i wasnt sure if autozone could do it. autozone seems clueless around here.

You can reset it if you want or you can wait for a couple drive cycles for it to go away. If it were a vacuum leak you would notice power loss so you're good to go.
yea it def. doesnt have powerloss. now that im looking back on it, it popped on right after i put in gas! i must have just not put the cap on tight enough! wow i feel like an idiot tho!! thanks so much man!
im just really glad that i didnt throw away a 100 dollars to have the dealership tell me this! i would have really felt like an idiot then! since the motor is still under warranty, i thought theyd scan it for free but then again it is the dealership!
totally agree man. im not the type of person that likes to talk negative or whatnot, but man my dealership experiences havent been good at all. everytime im there for an oil change, its always something else. for example, in the fall before i had the car stored away they told me i need a brake job asap! they gave me the qoutes brocure and everything before i left. i replaced the pads myself, and i was pretty upset to see i had 75% pad left!

I wasn't fond of the Kent dealership to be honest. That's one of the dealers I took my MS3 to about the synchro issue and they instantly said they couldn't replicate the issue so they wouldn't touch it. They took it for one drive supposedly and let it sit the rest of the day. But then again, dealerships are all the same usually, unless you know someone well enough at a dealership... :/

Interesting sight over the weekend, in a not-so-great part of Cleveland's west side. Two cars are side by side at a red light, with me and my wife and a lot of other cars behind them. The light's been red for a while now. Suddenly the rear door on the car on the left flies open and a woman climbs out.
She opens up the rear door of the car on the right, then turns and grabs a kid who looks to be about 3 yrs old out of the first car. She tosses (yes . . . tosses) the kid into the rear of the car on the left. She reached back, grabs another kid, and repeats the tot toss.
Now the light turns green. No one sounds their horns because we're all too busy being stunned. However, the woman begins to freak slightly and steps it up a notch. She grabs a third kid, and this one she really sends for ride. It looked like she was tossing sacks of potatoes onto the back of a truck. But we're not done yet. She grabs the fourth and final child and this one's REALLY little. She thankfully doesn't toss her because evidently the back seat is beginning to fill. She succeeds in shoving her into the back seat, treating us all to an amazing view of her butt-crack in the process, and then turns to all of us, gives her best "thank you for your patience" smile and a little wave, and then climbs in after her. Both cars drive off.
Thanks, Garmin, for taking me through this most fascinating part of town.

I didn't have a problem with the Kent dealership. Although I didn't have a problem like a synchro issue. I just had the gas cap issue as well. My gas cap was actually bad no matter how much i tried tightening it down. They pulled the code for no cost since I was still under warranty. And gave me a new gas cap, I was in and out, in 30 minutes. I haven't had to have them tackle any major problems yet.
Tom that sounds like the kind of thing you need a dash camera for. You could have won America's funniest home videos.

I should clarify my above post ^
I trust you guys far more than any dealership!
Also Steve I still have your spare torque wrench did you ever figure out how much money you wanted for it? Or did you just want it back?

What's wrong with tossing kids? They're durable, resilient, and easy to replace.
