You should do it. I think Grand Am is way more fun than ALMS. Much more fan friendly imho.

Both races are fun...different types of fans at each though. I much prefer the Rolex race though...the teams just seem to enjoy us being around more.

I went to my first NASCAR race in Charlotte over the weekend. Now there is a different kind of fan. I walked past an RV that had put down mulched flower beds, a mailbox, and white picket fence in front of it. I looked at them, smiled, and then continued my death march of hauling a 30 pack up hill. Yes, each ticket holder is allowed to bring up to a 30 pack of beer.

On a different note, I finally got my rear diffuser painted. Looking at the instructions I guess I need to remove the plastic part around the exhaust tips. I recall someone saying that they melted theres. I will have no need for them, so if I manage to get them off without busting them up, they would be free to a good home. I'm looking to tackle this project next week, after I throw down mulch in my real yard.

I'd be interested in them for a few weeks perhaps... mine are pretty melted and there is the possibility of going back to stock...

Mine are melted but I already have spares and have installed my exhaust finishers so you can't see them anymore.

Just wanted to give a public shout to Steve. AWESOME work in my car yesterday at the autocross. I can't tell you how impressed I was with your performance. You are coming along quite well. Good work listening to me yell at you and tell you what not to do. Now we just need to clean your line up a little bit and you'll be even better.

Srsly though, you have come a loooooong way and are improving quite rapidly. Keep up the great work. :D

Good job Steve!
We'll have to discuss when you want to start the engine swap.
I've kept my weekend open until I know when you want to start.

i was wondering if any of you OHIO rx8 owners would be willing to go see this rx8 for me. It's pushing my price limit, but with some luck it could be possible to buy it. And since it's a 7+ hour drive (dont have much time on my schedule) if a fellow 8 owner could check it out, and hopefully the dealer would be willing to negotiate the price so it comes out closer to $16,000-$16,500 orafter taxes then there's a chance since i'd also be paying for shipping to IL. but yeah if anyone is able to, it'd be great. Either post a reply in my thread (link below) PM me. thanks in advance!

Agreed... that ain't no 6 speed.

I also think the dealer could do SERIOUSLY better on price. Like in the 15 - 15.5k range.

Wheeling, IL huh? If you're looking at shipping, I bet I could potential get it out to you if that's a route you want to pursue. I have a lot of family in the Mount Prospect and Buffalo Grove.

Maybe even a bit lower... haha. Yeah shipping would probably be the option of getting the car, because i dont think i'd have time for a 7+ trip there and back. plus the amount of time it'd be to purchase the car you know? but if i end up going through with this i'll let you know.. thanks.

Saw a black 8 on 90 going east around 1130 this morning and a galaxy grey headed north on 83 shortly after that.

I just noticed its supposed to thunderstorm Saturday, but the temp is mid-80s... sucks for trying to plan a cookout.
I'm still a maybe for Saturday... depends on our progress with Steve's car.
But just in case I am able to make it, is there anything I can bring that isn't "critical" for the cookout?

Nice! You'll probably have them by tomorrow thanks to their insistence on sending everything by Fed Ex, with the concurrent $10 charge. Guess they want to be able to track the order if something goes wrong.

Even with them wanting the tracking number I still don't understand why they have to ship it next day.
