OK... 9:30 it is...
Could you PM us your home address (I don't think I programmed it into my TomTom last time).
+1
We also get the spark plugs there too.
If we weren't meeting so early in the morning, I would pick up the oil for you on my way down so you didn't have to drive up to Tallmadge.

I can't believe this one is still here. My long lost topic creation. All hail it's mighty creator...ME! lol... anyways, My 04 is gone. I got a family and it just didn't fit the bill anymore. If anyone buys a used red rx-8 with a RB exhaust and only about 18k miles on it, well, it was probably mine. No-one in this area probably had one with lower miles. Anyways, got a big truck now... Now where's the RAM forums at??
Side note: I still have the OEM cat-back exhaust if someone needs and wants to make me an offer, I can deliver.

Yup i'm still here. The funny thing is I originally revived the thread because I didn't know how forums work and didn't notice there was a 2 year post difference between my first post and the last one. I'll probably have my Rx8 for a long time unless something horrible happens to it. I've only just recently broke 30k miles. And now have the winter truck so i'm not driving the Rx8 in shitty weather.

Welcome to the "club" BB63. I'm also near the canton area. If you ever see a black cherry RX8 around N.Canton/Massillon area, that's most likely me... unless some how Brian makes his way over here. he has same model.
i also swapped out my tranny and diff fluid with redline. wonderful change. though i had the Valvoline oil change place do it. Didn't have the facilities to do it at the apt and wanted it done. they charged me $15 to do it.

jon and steve helped me out enourmously with the coils and plugs and the redline swap. i opted to change the coils and plugs because i didnt know when (or if) they ever got changed and when i drove her afterwards OMG! she's smoother all through the powerband and idles a little smoother. the cool thing was that jon and steve actually explained and taught me every step and let me do most of the work. jon was nice enough to clean my MAF while we were working on it.
are you referring to brian katzensomething? i know him and his car. his ex is my sister in law and we hung out a couple times. he's not on the forum? i figured he would be.

The Cleveland locals are great for that...ermm...Denny. You can learn a ton about your car as long as you are willing to put in the time and not freak out. It's really going to suck for me to move away from these guys.
The Brian that Banned was speaking of is Brian DePietro (tiresmoker). He lives in Youngstown but still comes to hang with us regularly. You can spot his Black Cherry Shinka by the numbers on the side though.

i really liked getting my hands dirty working on the car and seeing the results immediatly afterwards when i started my car, it's a great feeling lol!
i'm just really glad that jon and steve were there to guide me and check my work and letting me use his garage. made me feel infinately more omfortable and i didnt have anything to worry about which i would have if i would have done it on my own.
damn the cherry shinka's are more common than i thought LOL thats 3 i know of now in an hour radius.
SHKWAV
I earned the nicknamed of "Banned" because i successfully got banned from the RX8 forum for 3 days due to posting political content... twice lol
Anyway, glad you got everything swapped and cleaned. i need to do my MAF as well.
the 05 Shinkas are kind of common around here. i dont know why. but that just means this area has good taste is all. there were less than 1400 produced total. I guess mazda has scheduled around 2000 for the total run but never had enough sales to meet that number.
Any talk of a get together soon? I went back three pages but didnt see anything mentioned. figured i'd ask.

Danny,
Next autocross is April 16th & 17th, both at Geauga lake.
I doubt many of us will go on the 16th because its the novice driving school.
However, most of us will be there on Sunday the 17th.
I don't think we have a date set for the next official rx8club meet.
Trust me, you're wrong

I have to be at the drivers school on the 16th to do tech inspections and help out with the rookies. Depending on what time it all gets done thought I may be up for some night bowling.
*wats for Steve to make joke about me being chief of tech and my car breaking and belching tons of oil smoke...*

Also, it seems as if the majority of the BCM Shinkas are on the east cost.

but good looking out on the actual reason as to why production ended. makes it even more enjoyable to own now since it wasn't because people didnt want to purchase purple torqueless wonders. LOL.
So what'sup bro! Sorry i not been around in a while, on here or meets. No genuine excuse for not popping in here but meets were fairly limited due to the new baby. she's almost 16 months old now. Crazy, eh? Anywho, up for the next get together, where ever, when ever it is. Bowling would be fun!
European livin n ohio
Yeah bowling sounds fun. I suck at it but oh well lol!
Could someone give me directions to the geauga lake track/parking lot you guys use? I didn't see anything last time I went there lol.
Vyn can I swing by Saturday for my engine cover and heater?
Tiresmoker I want to start putting my car on the track. What does the novice school entail? And prices?

Rookie school teaches you what the cones mean, hand signals, etc. It also gets you a passenger to help you with your driving.
And here is the parking lot...
Course area
Course Comparison
Last year they only used the one parking lot but this year they will use both. Should be fun.

This should give a brief overview of autocross for you. Each link on this page should help with the questions you have.
http://noraracing.net/new-to-autocross
Basically what will be covered in the school will launching and brake control, cornering and slalom control, a "classroom" session where vehicle dynamics are discussed and also the parts you buy for your car and how to properly use them, and then the afternoon is basically autocrossing and applying what you learned durning the day and practicing it.
It is definitely an informative day and you will get TONS of runs in during the afternoon.
As for pricing and how to sign up, follow this link:
http://racerslane.com/clubs/NORA%20-.../4/events/2669
As stated, the cost may seem a little high, but the event the next day is included in the price. At previous schools, people have seen upwards of 20+ runs (considering that most autocross events are anywhere from 4-8 runs that's a hell of a deal, and you are getting instruction too) If you are thinking about doing it, one thing to note is I believe there is a cap on registration, reason being is that we want to make sure that we get enough people to make it worth it, but not too many where all of us running it are running around frantic and not being able to have enough people to help with ride alongs and things of that nature. Once a little more info on how we are going to run it this year is out there I will let you know.
If you have any other questions let me know. I'll be glad to help.
And on that note, a shot of my car being a stubborn bitch this past Sunday:
