yAy for real driving school!
BTW...for all those not on my FB friends list. I put a bid in on a house yesterday in Falcon, CO. It's a ShortSale so my move timeline is now up in the air with someone elses bank.

You can buy them both back in the for sale section of the forum.
Next time you'll know better!
j/k.
I will not be around for the majority of the day on Saturday. Friday night would work better. Or Thursday during the day I'll be close to home, so whenever, just PM me when you'd like to come get them.
Per the driving school: I did it last year and it was ALOT of seat time. Its a very good way to get familiar with your car and how it handles... BUT, because of all the seat time and number of runs, it can be hard on some of your wear items, especially tires.
John: congrats on the house offer. I put an offer on a new house two weeks ago (still in Massillon) and they accepted. However, I thought short sales were very contradictory to their name and actually can take up to a year to close? The house I am buying was a foreclosure, but not a short sale. . . . but good luck anyway!
Also, Bowling Saturday night could be fun! I believe the lady and I are free.

Okay so I signed up for Autocross on Saturday as a rookie in the STX class (I think comes closest to my car) and I gave myself the 31 number (hope it's available lol) so Brian se you a coach? If so can you pair me up with you? Since we drive same cars you can let me in on some hints tips secrets lmao!
Where do I get magnetic numbers?
I registered so am I a member now or is that different?
P.S. thank you to all of you for all the help and links and advice.

Not a lot of people run STX, so I can definitely say that 31 is available in that class. As for the school there will be different stations for car control as I mentioned earlier. At each one of these stations there will be someone running the station coaching the people on how they are doing.
When it gets to the autocross portion in the afternoon Rookies will be paired up with either the rookie chief or another person designated by him. I will be there and try to get in the car with you, although I cannot guarantee it because I will be doing tech inspections for annual tech that day as well. I will do my best to get in the car with you and give you a few pointers on how to drive the car.
As for numbers, what I would do for now is print out some on some paper and tape them on the car. This way if you don’t like the sport by some chance you didn’t waste money on buying numbers. The numbers have to be a minimum of 8” tall and the letter 4” tall. You will need them for both sides of the car, so (2) sets of 8” tall #31, (2) sets of 4” tall STX, and (2) R’s. Rookies have to have an R on the car for the first three events. Don’t worry though, it’s not a badge of shame, it’s so that you are easily identifiable so we can help you out.
If you do decide you want magnets though, my girlfriend does magnets and vinyls. A good number of people have got them from her and seem to like them, and they are reasonably priced as well. I wouldn’t be a able to give you a quote on them though because depending on the style, color, and quantity of numbers and letters you get it will change slightly. She basically does it for cost and what she gets charged from the printer she charges you.

You will have to create a user account to download the attached document though.
As for the membership, that’s a different animal. I can’t remember exactly the cost for a year membership for a new one, but I believe it’s $50. With that the event cost is cheaper and there are other benefits as well from sponsors of the club.

So far I'm seeing a bunch of canton folk down for bowling. Anyone know of any places down towards the middle to bowl at?

Short Sales take longer than a regular sale but are shorter then a foreclosure. My realtor said that the last foreclosure he had took 6.5 months to close. While I am in a hurry to get out there I want to get some sort of return on the investment.

would it be possible to have them made and I'll reimburse you at the school? Or at bowling?
I'm thinking orange 31 and can your girlfriend do multiple colors on a letter? I'm Dutch and my flag is red white and blue in equal horizontal bars. Basically French flag sideways lol. I was thinking to do STX that way. Orange r I guess. Oooooh and can she make a black strip with my name in orange on it an my flag behind it? D. van Delft "flag"
For on the rear doors under the window lol. I'm thinking 2 inches tall? And the numbers 12 inches, the stx 8 inches? And the r ½ inch lol!
Omg this is so much fun already.

This is getting better and better. I'm not worried about the cost.

What I would suggest to do is sign up on Nora's forum and download that document in the link I gave you. It has the font styles listed that are an option to choose from. She can do other font styles, but there is no guarantee it will be 100% correct as the printer only has certain styles.
Also use this image for reference:
My numbers are 8" tall, letters are 4" tall, and the names on the windows are 3/4" tall.
I think that 12" tall numbers is going to be way too big, and the letters should only be at max 50% of the height of the numbers or else it will look very off. THere may even be some stipulation about this.
As for payment, you can pay upon delivery. I know it won't be able to be done for this Saturday if we go bowling, , but it will definitely be ready for the event next Saturday on the 16th. Just download that document, fill it out, and send it back to her and you will be set.

I'm about 2 mi from the Fairlawn bowling alley. If that's where you end up, I will try to stop by to say "Hi". Baby duties keep me from being out of the house for too long.
If you end up in Fairlawn, I would recommend Swenson's for dinner before or after (about 2 mi down rt 18). The Montrose Swenson's has a big lot that allows us to line up and park together. If you dont know Swensons, its a drive-in so you eat in or around your car. I worked there when I was in college. Car clubs would come in from time to time. I was very jealous.

On a different note, Steve and I were talking rims and tires so I did some shopping on tirerack (while driving my 40 ton semi through chicago lol) and holy ****!! I had no idea about weights of the rims and all that stuff! My wife was all supportive and excited to me starting to race..... lol until I tell her I'm dropping 2 grand on rims and tires in a month or so lmfao!

If you pay attention to the Internets, and with your career, you can get some good prices on wheels used. I don't know what Brian paid for his Enkei's that you liked to so much...but I know I saved him a **** ton driving them up from DC for him.

That's actually not a bad idea. Have to be lucky though to get them in color and size I want.

Rockne's is my home court as I have family that works there. Good food, big portions, less than a mile from the bowling alley. Winking Lizard is also very close but that place is always very busy so plan ahead. Moving down rt18 is Max and Erma's, Applebee's, On Tap (mmmm - best wings ever), 5 guys, olive garden, mac grill, one of those buffet places, I think a flemmings, then up to Restaurant Hill with an Outback, Mex, Steak on a Stone, and something else.
I was just throwing out eating as an idea, no hard feelings if it doesnt work out. Like I said before, I am limited to what I can do anyways.
Oh yeah - there is a Domino's across the street. Pick up a pizza and bring it to the alley. I only say that because I won a contest there for making a Pizza Proverb. They printed it on the cover of all their pizza boxes along with my name (closest thing I will ever get to the cover of Rolling Stone) They just sent me a box the other day. My wife is going to put it in a frame. lol. I'm such a tool. I told the marketing dept that I would make myself available for a box signing tour. I don't think they took me seriously.
"No pizza is an island, unless it's Hawaiian" (it was a really slow day at work)
