I saw my first Tesla Roadster today. He followed me onto the highway so of course I had to flame him a little to remind him of what he was missing lol
Trust me, you're wrong

Tesla has insane acceleration though. I don't know if they got the 2 speed tranny to work yet but early Tesla's did 0-125 in 1 gear! I believe engine spins to 16k rpm. But they have 4500 laptop batteries on board so handling is awful. But few cars beat it in a drag race.

I would say its doable if you have plenty of patience with it. But all you have to do is fish the mic through, so unhook the headliner in one spot, cut the hole for the mic, and fish it through with some wire or coat hanger or something. Shouldn't be too bad.

And when you say the handling is horrible, what are you comparing it to? I mean, compared to most cars is one thing... Compared to an iceberg? Or compared to a rabbit?
Settle down in here.

Yeah I believe Top Gear gaged their 0-62 at like 3.8 seconds but I may be off a bit...I was watching a show on the construction of a Tesla and the battery weighs in the area of 1000 lbs, yet it isn't laying flat to the floor of the car which would surely improve the handling quite a bit. I think anyone that watched the Top Gear episode would question the $110k price tag.

Bad compared to just about anything lol. It's super heavy and on top of that it's center of gravity is high. I think the best comparison is to call it today's delorean?

HA... I was just going through Mazda's web-based training that they use and while covering the fuel injector control portion, they mentioned this:
Reminded me of a certain S2000 lately
Because intake air amount varies during cranking, the PCM determines injection time according to coolant temperature (ECT sensor) and engine speed (CKP sensor).
The devil made me do it

Any trick to removing the A Pillar I should know about? From there Im thinking it should be pretty easy to get to the dome light area for me to install the mic behind the headliner or under the rear view mirror. My other thought was to run it up and install it in the heater vent. Only problem there would be if I forgot to shut off the heat/air while I was on a call.

Not that I recall... just like any other interior piece, take your time looking around for clips or hidden bolts.
Doc's was the only time I've removed the headliner (and most of the other trim pieces) so I can't tell you a step-by-step DIY off the top of my head.
You could always reference the service manual if you're not confident.

Yea, its important to worry "just enough".
Jon - have you had the chance to crack open my blown engine yet? I'm curious as to what you find... I'm still missing a 10mm deep that I dropped into the engine bay a long time ago... figured it might be in there.

I was busy that day.
Might come out to the next one... I usually don't know if I will until the day before (or day of) because things seem to come-up unexpectedly in my life...
Oh boy... that is a subject best discussed during beer time.
I'll just say this... it can't hurt (unless you add a crazy mixture... of course).

Now all this will take time of course. I want to run more with my car as is and improve the car as I improve. So an alignment I think will be first. Then when my crappy tires are done I'll upgrade the wheels and tires. And so on. Step by step.
So if you guys are interested.... beer night Saturday? Jon? Steve? Brian? Megan? Jamie?
