Maybe... I'll have to let you know later.
I work early Sunday morning so I'm not looking at staying out too late, if I do.

I'm probably out... I have the last week of school this Monday and Tuesday, so its time to do all the work I didn't do over the last 16 weeks.

I know Jamie isn't even on a member here on 8club, and Brian might be running in the SCCA Steel cities region this sat.

Interesting problem this morning putting the midpipe back on. All of the threads from the one nut on a shoulder bolt are missing. Had no problems putting it on last time but this time there is nothing there. Sure hope Autozone or something is open.

Got up this morning and the car wouldn't start. Thought it was the battery cause it would do a slow crank and then just a clicking sound so I charged it all day while I was at work but it still won't start. Now when I go to start it, it does a kind of hum (hard to describe the sound) kinda like its turning over but not firing at all. The car has been fine up until today. No other problems other then a squeaking sound coming from the radio area.... so Damn annoying.

Could be your battery is just shot now. Had the same problem when I left the trunk open and replaced the battery under warranty.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the reason the car isn't working is because that kharma caught up with you for being a squid on your bike. (you know, the whole throwing change at people and all).

But on a serious note: it may be flooded, depending on how long it sat for. Don't listen to John, he just reads **** offf the interests and regurgitates it to feel smart. Lol. My stock battery lasted 6 years before it was finally dead beyond all salvation. And I have an '05 which was one of the troubled years for starters and batteries.

Now all that being said, it could be a combination of the battery not having the cranking amps, and the engine being flooded.

If the engine wasn't flooded the battery would still start the car.

If the battery was completely void of cranking amps it would not even sound like it was trying to turn over.

The biggest questions right now are these:
1) how long has the car sat?
2) what year is it?
3) is it the stock battery?
4) does you woman have big *****?
5) if yes to # 4, how long till you post pictures?

Try leaving your trunk open for a week Brian and then recharging the battery...it won't work. A dead battery is a dead battery. Sure...it's possible to recharge a car battery if you accidentally leave your headlights on for a couple of hours or something..but if it dies there is no coming back...

I parked my car two weeks before Thanksgiving and never touched it until Late March of this year. No battery tender on it, and I didn't pull the battery over the winter.

When I went to restart it the engine was flooded. I put the battery on the tender and let it sit, and bam, when I "deflooded" it the battery had enough juice to fire the car over.

Just sayin...

Difference being lost charge over time vs. complete discharge. Without knowing the state of his battery before hand nor the reason for the discharge it is all speculation.

I use the car everyday and drove it about 90 miles before parking it in the garage. The problems started the next morning.

It's an 05

No idea if its the stock battery

No she has little *******

Can post pics today as long as I don't ever want to get laid again

The car got flat bedded to Mazda in mentor last night. Just waiting now for a call to tell me what is wrong with it

Just heard back from Mazda. They say it isn't flooded but needs a new battery $180 a starter, covered by warranty and spark plugs $231.

The battery I can buy and put in myself and save at least $100. The starter has to be ordered and won't be here till Monday. The spark plugs... how the hell are they costing that much? What's so special about them?

Wait... you went to the dealer for that? What is our local group coming to?
Battery and starter causing starting issues... hmmmm... if only someone made a video showing everyone this basic understanding

And you can buy spark plugs at SummitRacing for $80
Why is it costing so much you ask... because you went to the dealer!
Now you know why we avoid going there and repair, what we can, ourselves.

Lesson leaned...

Yes...take a battery up there with you...pay the $100 diagnostic fee and take it home. When you take the battery back to where you bought it have them test the starter. New starter you can get dirt cheap compared to the dealer here on the forums and plugs are down at Summit. Heck...I'll even drive over after work and help you do it if you want...it's that easy.

I'd be careful with John working on you car, especially if what his is touching has threads on it. Hahahaha

Oh and if your woman never looks at the forum she can't see the pics you post. Hint hint.

Yup I can second that. I wanted my coils wires and plugs changed and dealer said 1200 bucks. I got the coils from advanced auto parts for 30 bucks a pop and all 4 plugs for 80 bucks. Wires for 35. Jon and Steve helped me put it all in so including me buying them lunch it cost me 25% of the dealer quote.

I plan on having them do the starter because its covered by my extended warranty and will only cost me $50. I'm buying a battery and doing that myself and also going to do the plugs myself. The only reason I went to the dealer is cause of the warranties I have on the car and it was making a noise I haven't heard a car make before. This isn't my first go around on working on engines. If anyone wants to help out next week doing The plugs I wouldn't mine the help since it will be the first time working on a rotary, even if it is something as simple as plugs. Beer will be included

Hey turds,

I posted this on facebook, but I remembered not everyone on here is on facebook...

I'm having my MBA graduation party Friday May 7th at Hot Shots Pub in Massillon Starting at 3pm until whenever. It'll be family friendly I think until around 7ish. Karaoke, pizza, wings, stuff like that.

Shoot me a PM or post up in here if you're coming.

I already know a few are coming, but we can make it a meet also.
