Josh: I broke my torque wrench (yea, don't ask me how)... I need the one I loaned you back if possible.

Matt: congrats on the new job. Let me know when you can either sponsor me or give me free tries. (dibs)

Of course Steve, I remember last time I saw you I felt horrible that I had forgotten it. I'm in Hudson for the next week, and i'd be willing to drive it to wherever you are at since i've borrowed it way past the amount of time i expected to.

...and then you return a broke torque wrench... how dare you. j/k

So, our last meet was smallish... but we won't be discouraged.

I have my whopping 28th birthday next Tuesday, the 14th and Mr. McGraw will soon be leaving for Colorado (the sunshine state... beautiful!)

So we were thinking about having a get together to celebrate my health insurance premium increase/reaction time decrease and the fact that McGraw is leaving the state of Ohio to become a granola eating hippie that wears Birckenstocks and drives a subaru or volvo wagon.

I'm throwing next friday, 6/17/11 at Dave and Busters in Cleveland out there... please chime in if this works or doesn't work for you.

Dammit Steve the point of a birthday is that people come to YOU lol I'm usually trucking till about 8 or 9 on Friday so by the time I get showered and dressed and drive to Cleveland, Brian will have made most of you a soprano already so if it's in Cleveland I can't guarantee I'll be there.

Yes I did. And I did very naughty things with your car.

More than likely I'll be there. I have to troll John in real life at least one more time before he moves.

Seriously. Are you talking about the one off the Columbia Road exit off I 90? Pretty convenient for me, but that's a haul for the southern/easterners.

Harbor Freight has a 1/4" Drive Torque Wrench on sale as part of their ParkingLot Sale. No sale on the 3/8" drive though.

Rule of thumb. The "drive" of your torque wrench/socket wrench, is equivalent to the diameter of the bolt you are trying to tighten. So unless you are trying to torque down your MAFS screws, chalk this one up to another episode of "John is posting garbage".

except that a lugnut is more than 3/8" anyway...and if you need to put 200lbs of torque on your MAF you have issues. But if you want to be a ******* *** about it...I guess you could say that. Then again...I did mention it wasn't the best tool for the job. Ah well...I guess since I just can't ignore you I'll just leave the group. Steve...just ship my rotor up.

Oh and btw, I use a 1/2" drive torque wrench on my lug nuts. So your argument is invalid. Whatever arguement you were trying to start. I swear, half the time you don't think. Screen shots before the delete ftw!

And one more thing, since I am in a giving mood... For those of us that can't read (be it wookie descendants or otherwise) I stated that the torque wrench that was offered up was not useful for anything other than tightening down bolts equivalent to or lesser than the diameter of the drive.

The party in question somehow managed to introduce new, and obviously inflated numbers, well beyond the capacity of which I stated, to try and make themselves sound smarter.

Basically long story short: John screwed his numbers up in a rebuttal to me, and made himself look like a bigger ***. Not trying to call you out McFail, but stuff happens... Bro.

Lol

It's been a while O_O

Believe it or not I read just about everything you guys post because I get updates on this thread to my phone... unfortunately I can't post from there

So in the past week - I've done brakes, rotors, spark plugs, coils, air filter... and I'm having a mystery issue.

Car was running great after I did the coils (a few days difference from the plugs)... but things went downhill that night. Car began having some bogging down around 6 and 8k rpm (not stopping just a slightly noticeable power loss. As I made my way home this began getting worse. Now the vehicle as I rev starts bogging around 6k rpm and CAN NOT get over 7k rpm even not in gear.

Upon arriving home I decided to do my routine of checking all my fluids.. everything is topped off however I noticed the engine compartment was very hot (hotter than usual). I also noticed while driving that the transmission was getting hot (I have a small hole in the console behind my stick and there was a heat difference upon sticking my fingers in there (yes that is what she said).

The car runs pretty solid up to 6k rpm and I am getting no warning indications on my dash.

From my research this would seem to be a clogged cat? All the symptoms seem to make sense and I hear this could be a side affect of doing coils a couple days after the plugs.

(Important info is in bold)

Clogged cat would also explain the P0410.
Time to drop the cat and look inside.

The P0410 code could also be the air pump.
Does it sound noisy?
Though with the other issues you're experiencing, I would focus on the cat first.
