I know it may not help, but when my aem intake would get wet before I rerouted it to be STX legal, it would mist the MAFS and I couldn't accelerate over 6k. It was like the car hit fuel cut.
Also, is there some chance you crossed plug wires when you put them in?
Ps: don't hit your cat with a hammer. The ASPCA will get pissed. Lol

Breaker Bar I got handed down to me from my grandpa who worked on tanks in WW2 did the job! I love that thing!
working on the exhaust hangers now... BTW if anyone wants to come on over with beer I'll give you some cash when you get here
(Yes I am 21 now)
MAFS is fine I have it out right now along with the rest of the stock intake.
No chance I crossed wires while doing plugs and coils... I am always very careful about this - Seen a friend do this and his car was pretty messed up until he sorted it out.
Also... I'm about to ram a screwdriver inside of my cat, do some damage to all of its organs and then poor them out... Will the ASPCA be pissed about this?
Thanks for the Tips guys

My kitty was in bits before I even got it off. Took it off and tipped it down and 1/2 the catalyst fell out. Got the rest with a crowbar.
Drove it down the road without the exhaust... HOLY HELL the thing is loud.
All fixed and put back together - She runs great
I should get flames now right?

Yes, flames are always a possibility with the RX8.
I already bought you a Brady Quinn Denver Broncos jersey... now what I am supposed to do with it?
j/k... but I'm not shipping an 8lbs rotor to Cleveland, that's dumb. I'm sure I'll see you before you move.

Sorry I couldn't be there Steve I was home early on Friday but had to leave out again Friday afternoon. Haven't had a full day off yet.
Does a gutted cat throw a cel?
And Brian damn lmfao!
Hopefully I'll see you guys Sunday at the race, not sure if I can make it.

The meet is on the 17th. This Friday. I know I am still going, as well as Steve, Kristen, Megan, Jon...
Hopefully you can make it out Tom.
Oh and Steve, it's never too soon.

I want the rotor too! I'll pay a Buck more than Brian :p
Then how come a bhr mid pipe doesn't throw a cel? I is confused......
Banned that pic is awesome.

Where were you guys when this rotor was in my for sale thread?
I don't know why the BHR midpipe won't throw a CEL unless it uses a o2 fowler (a device to trick the Oxygen sensor.) The S2000 folks do this with basically mini cat with the 02 sensor behind it off of the main pipe to not impede exhaust flow.
However, most devices for the RX8 like this didn't work well. So I don't know how BHR is claiming this. The only 100% way to run catless without a CEL is with a accessport, to my knowledge.

Yeah as far as I am aware you can't run an O2 cheater on the 8. The only way that I knownis possible is to basically get a spark plug defowler and drill it out to like 31/64 inside diameter. Thread that into the bung and thread the sensor into that.
This works because of the way the 8 pulses its fuel or some **** like that. It allows enough gas to get to the sensor and still read it, but not all of it so it thinks the cat has failed. So, my guess is that BHR did tons of testing with this theory on many different model years and found the happy medium to get something that would allow just enough exhaust to pass for the sensor to read the pulses to register a good cat. Lol

Seriously though, how many miles on your 8, and do you still have the heat issues you mentioned?
this Friday, the 17th.
I think I got everything?
Edit: This belong to anyone?

Brian is right in that there are no O2 fowlers that'll work with the RX8.
The only way to mask/trick the CEL is through the AccessPORT.
BHR's mid-pipe will throw a CEL if you don't have an AP.
BHR offers a mid-pipe with the DaveSport high-flow cat installed, which should prevent a CEL from illuminating.

Aaaah I see! That's the one I need anyway since stx requires a cat. Now will you see less power gain with the high flow cat or is it pretty much the same as a straight midpipe? Anyone know what it sounds like with stock exhaust?

Also, the Davesport high flow cat was the HFC I had on my rx8... it still threw a CEL every few drive cycles for the cat. The flow rate is 100 cpi, which is pretty damn free flowing. So while Im sure it'll keep the CEL off for awhile, I wouldn't plan on it to do the job for more than a few thousand miles.

What was the sound like Steve? I don't want a "85 accord that thinks it's a viper" sound. Just a nice throaty deeper sound. I love the sound of Brian's borla. But a little quieter would be perfect.
I'm not gonna bother with an intake since it doesn't make much difference in gains. Maybe a catback if I get sick of looking at my tiny tail pipes lol. But that's all a few months away at least. I'm moving soon and the doctors bills keep shrinking my "fun" fund.

You're in Canton? Which color? I see a blue one parked at the corner of tusk and Whipple a lot and a red one driving every now and then. Seen a yellow one once at bravo.
