Ok...I'm stupid...and I know it...but I have to ask.
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/fs-catless-midpipe-153773/
Basically the guy was asking for $200 for a straight pipe...right? Is that normal? *shrug* For some reason I was thinking they were like dirt cheap because there was nothing to them. Or is it special since it looks like it has resonators in the middle even though it would be obvious when he drives it that he does not?

I PMed on this and then I'm hoping the deal falls through so I can get this...
The dual resonated midpipe is sort of the blend of both worlds... not quite as loud and crazy as a full on "test pipe" straight pipe, but still get the performance and sound that you lose with a stock midpipe or high flow cat pipe.
New they go for around 260-300
RX7 Store charges 280 for a stainless single resonated pipe and for a high flow cat pipe they charge 245... but yea, for just a stainless straight pipe they want 215.
You pay to be legal I guess....
But, Stark county doesn't look like its going to get E-Check anytime soon, so as long as its not too loud, I'll be golden.

Mazsport allegedly used two different resonators to reduce two seperate sets of noise. That's why other resonated midpipes reduce some sound but still give you a drone with a 3" exhaust while Mazsports allegedly reduces noise and drone.
I can't find the original Mazsport thread but Jason from RX7store (who I wouldn't buy from again btw) kept asking Scott from Mazsport why he thought his dual resonated midpipe would be any good.
EDIT: Here it is: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=Midpipe

Ah. Be real careful with this. Those are just resonator chambers. They're not going to reduce anything.

You're buying a fancy straight pipe.

Yea, I agree I'm not very informed on this, its just what I have been reading also.
The real test would be to hear a full on straight pipe against the different types of resonated pipes and hear how big of a difference it really makes in terms of sound reduction.
But for a bent piece of 3inch stainless pipe, 250 is steep.

As for shirts...are you looking for a Zoom Freakin' Zoom T-Shirt...I know they have a c6c front with the zFz back. I could always request a zFz front shirt though. *shrug* My mum also volunteers at an Embroidery place in case you would want an embroidered version. I can check on hats too if you want.

Well it appears that Lauri wasn't messing around with the orders and already placed the window sticker order for the first batch. The banner ones are being placed on Monday as someone *cough*Brian*cough* was getting picky on his color choices. :P

Yes...like your NORA one. Brian is looking to get one to match his Black Cherry Mica and already has one other person looking for one in that color. If you do buy a set there are some of the c6c guys that were looking for it in White which would bring your costs down as they only come in sets of 3 for $40.

its a Mazda weekend!
Hey everyone... I haven't been working at all this afternoon and just browsing the DIY forums and finally doing some projects to the 8...
Any input from you all is appreciated.
The guy I bought the car from has a 3M clear bra he never installed... why? because the car is black and it shows up like a cheap sticker.
BUT - He did give me the clear coverings for the headlights and foglights... Has anyone on here done that install before? Any Advice?
Also... would anyone be interested in the remaining pieces of the 3M bra? (Bumper and about 3inches onto the hood)? I don't really care too much about price because its useless to me and would rather sell it to one of you rather than deal with the vultures (like myself) on the parts for sale forum.
And, if you guys saw the my car at the June meeting... it has ultra sweet blue parking lights (crickets) . . . and if that isn't cool enough, the LEDs on the passenger side are flashing randomly, like a bad connection.
--DB, you and I talked about this, and it doesn't look like I need to "bake" the headlights apart to change these lights, but again, has anyone on here done this or have to replace that bulb before?
Further - (This is a rant) These LEDs are a complete hassle. I would recommend that no one purchase them. The LEDs for the rear license plate are out/loose... the rear dome light is out/loose. The only ones that are still working well are the red lights on the door, puddle lights, and map lights. . .
Alright, I'm also planning to do the first stage of my subwoofer install. Run the Power cable through the car to where the amp is going to go. . . someday.
Anyone have any advice on this? Easier to run it through the drivers side? or drill a new hole in the firewall?
Its basically the first time I'm going to have the car fully apart - Center counsel removal, rear seat removal, washer tank removal, etc etc. I might even throw an oil change in there....
Okay, any input or thoughts on any of this would be welcome. . . and don't tell me to get a life because that won't happen.

Get a life fool! :P Looks like you have a laundry list of things to do for the winter though.

well, "i give you good price" if you want the 3M bra...
I have a pleather bra too that I'll never use if anyone uses it and wants an extra. All the snaps and junk are already on my car and I wouldn't take them off, so it would just be the bra....
Projects for the winter?? Oh, nice idea... but the 8 is my winter car also. So these projects will need to be completed before it gets too cold.
Wish me luck, I'll take pictures of my automotive adventures.
I'm thinking of renaming the car also as I get deeper into it...
When I bought the car and drove it home, Black Bettie played on the radio like 4 times, and like 3 more times in the following days... So I assumed the car wanted to be called bettie... but now, as these little events and projects are done, it may be renamed "Project Mayhem" as the 8 seems to have a dual personality.

If you've had the opportunity to try a single resonator and then a dual resonator mid-pipe (referring to MazSport's... NOT AP's), its like night and day.
Expect to pay double for MazSport's dual resonator mid-pipe... but its worth it in the end when it comes to the sound (trust me).
Anyone coming to our meet next week can observe the MazSport mid-pipe for themselves.
