There's an AX at Lakeland the day of the Mohican run. I won't be going with the 6s.

Vyndictive - I'd be talking to Ryan about getting that lift in my garage, and you can do anything you want while you're there!

I don't even know what a LOC is...

Further... has anyone ever seen a stock rx8 shift **** with red leather instead of black? I'm looking into that before I do a voodoo ****. I just don't know if I want that big silver **** as the center piece of my car. Don't want to clash with the red leather or bluish, slowing dying LEDs.
Nope. I still recommend the MS Shift **** which doesn't clash with anything. Get it from OnlineMazdaParts.com if you go that route.

You can also go with this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DPE-B...mZ120212947813

DPE used to be a vendor here and isn't a typical ebay company. I got my shocks/springs from him.

RK - LOC = Line Output Converter

Vyndictive - $5 and a beer works for me. And I have never seen a Black/Red Mazda ****. Jon would be the one to confirm that though. I would also look into the ShiftStyle interior stuff if you are going to go full bore in converting your car to Black/Red.

Doc - They are going down on the 7th to do the pre-work for the cruise. Im sure that they wouldn't mind the company...but check with Marlon and them.

Closest you're probably going to find is the caps at RX8Strakes.com:

http://www.rx8strakes.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=370

Tho I had a reason for not linking that before. But if someone REALLY wanted color on their shifter that's the only way I know of getting it.

Anyone is more than welcome to do the pre-run wuith us, as we make sure that the roads are clear of gravel and to make sure that roads are not closed. We also do this to ensure that the leaders of the groups have knowledge of the course, , which we will mark as well, and program into peoples GPS's! If you thought the Boston Mills run was fun, you ain't seen nothing yet!!!

Shinka_MJR One red leather rotary shifter coming right up!

For automatics only . . . Which is bad because seeing them like that makes me want to install blue parking lights. . .
I found out where the previous owner got his red parking brake though... what a waste of $.

Those caps are gross and overpriced. In my opinion.

And DB - We got a deal on the 3M bra... rolling rock if you would please

I should have tried out one of the voodoo ***** at the meet. I guess I these was too many drunk distractions wearing green shirts and people doing burnouts in the parking lot for me to remember. . .

Made an offer on a short shifter too: Now I can miss shifts Faster!
Anyone have the voodoo **** with the short shifter? From MJR's post of his voodoo without the short shifter, I bet it would be very low. . .

Doc: I'll try my luck installing that midpipe myself. I have to change the oil this week or next also. Switching to Royal Purple from Fujimatsu or whatever.

Oh, I have an RX8 sun windshield reflector too if anyone wants to take that off my hands for like 5 bucks.

I don't mind it, but with the radar detector mounted up there, its a pain and I never use it.

You can check Andrews Racing as well. They're local and give 15% off for NORA members.

http://andrew-racing.com/ar_website_009.htm

Met him down at a presenation at the NASA HPDE. Good enough guy. Probably won't beat Marlon's guy's pricing but at least will give you something to compare.

Go with the Ceramics. You'll like them. Especially since you have so many spokes.

Tacky too though you never know how they'll look IN the car until you have them in.

I believe I'm the only one with a short shifter and I have the MS ****. The Voodoo **** should be fine since you only use the top of it. The MS **** you use the entire ****. But yeah you should have checked them all out if you were thinking about getting one.

I hope Brian's not reading this. That whole paragraph screams for dick jokes.

RP 5w30 ftw. Make sure you get a decent filter too.

Summit sells them. You can get the 1008 which is the OEM size that Jon uses or the 1010 I linked to that is allegedly better because it's bigger. I'm trying the 1010 on my next change.

Only issue is that these are the illuminated ***** so it'll cost more than regular *****!

I used the 1008 because that is the only one that Summit Racing and K&N's website says to use for the RX8.
Even on the Amazon link Ryan provided, if you fill out the "Make sure it fits" section, it says, "This product does not fit your 2004 Mazda RX-8".
I'm not saying it won't work because a lot of people here use the 1010 and don't seem to have any issues.
When I asked what the difference was, I only got replied, "size"!
So will the 1010 make it "better"..... I don't know.
I'll just stick to what K&N says to use until something/someone proves that 1010 is noticeably better.
Not to mention I can pick it up at Summit Racing and not have to order online (I love that).

CORRECTION:
You CAN purchase the K&N HP-1010 from Summit Racing:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
So the choice is up to you.
My opinion, if you're N/A, either will be fine.
If you're FI, then you'll probably benefit from the 1010

I've only messed with web sites here and there... and mostly used FrontPage to edit pages.
John might be your best candidate for this one.

OK... so I've been comparing the K&N filters (you know me, gotta know details).
Only noticeable difference between the 1008 and 1010 (besides the physical dimensions) is the Filter Bypass Relief Valve.
K&N-HP-1008 = 11-17 psi
K&N-HP-1010 = 13-17 psi
The Filter Bypass Relief Valve is used to allow unfiltered oil to lubricate the engine in the event the oil filter has become clogged or when the weather is cold and the oil is thick and flows slowly.
Unfiltered oil is far better than no oil at all.
What this tells me is that it'll take less pressure for the 1008 to open its valve than the 1010... meaning it'll allow the unfiltered oil into the engine quicker.

Bottomline... as long as you're not using cheap oil and you're changing your filter regularly, it doesn't matter which one you choose.

Yeah. I figured as much but I was using a GC on Amazon so figured I'd give the bigger one a shot. It's the same price.

And $250 (edit... 300!) for a shift ****.... Wow. Tho they do look good. I still don't like the feel of the OEM **** but on pure looks I would rather get those then the Voodoo ****. My MS one is pretty plain but it does the job better, IMHO, then any of the other shift ***** I've seen.

If you want bud, we live fairly close to each other and i work not even 5 min from the Strip. If you want to check out the voodooknob in my car, you're welcome to. I dont believe you will want to go any lower once you see / feel how it sits.

Let me know. can meet you any time. It's a great shifter **** though. Only thing i would have done different is gotten the titanium **** instead but i am not spending that much money on a damned ****. ever. lol

Eh, maybe. I think I'll wait until I get some of the other projects out of the way before I do that. I made an offer on a used short shifter... I know I want one of those.... the **** can follow that.

And are you sure you want me to "try it out." I have been known to steal things . . .
