Sorry, but you're on your own. Since I'm back in class now I have to work every Sunday.

I did take PTO (paid time off) for Sunday the 14th. It's the Lakeland Autocross and I'll be going to that one.

Things are starting to switch around here from RX8 track prep to Jeep winter conquerer prep. The garage is calling the 8's name, but the insurance doesn't go inactive until November 1st.

Since the weather is sometimes funky in the middle of October, this next autocross at Lakeland could me my last event for the year. It would be nice to get as many 8's out there as we can.

I'll be spending my time in a parking lot drinking instead of driving that Sunday. Browns v. Steelers at 8 PM...

Yeah I just started cleaning out my exploder over the weekend. It gets activated next week. The 8 goes off the insurance as soon as that first snow falls.

I take it you're not doing the Beaver Run HPDE? Still hopeful that can happen but I'm in the same boat as you and if it's getting wintery I won't be going. Usually stays good until the end of October but freak crap happens.

Not like we didn't warn you bud!
That's why I cringed when you asked about the used mid-pipe with the tiny resonator.
It'll still be loud and annoying just like the gutted cat you bought.
Don't waste your money on anything else until you know what you're getting.
Especially since you haven't heard your car with the gutted cat yet.
Remember... we are here to help each other so don't take anything personally.
I did sell my old single resonator midpipe to someone local (Kevin) so you can always ask to here it live next to your gutted cat and my dual resonator pipe.
Now all we need is a high-flow cat to get the ultimate comparison.

Eh, don't worry. I have a thick skin when it comes to that. The 8 is the first car i've owned really worth doing any work to. I wasn't going to put money into a 9 year old civic with 145k miles.... I learned to present my ideas first here.
However, if I get fixated on something, I'm stubborn, I'm kinda stupid, and I don't listen well... which all of those traits will probably be evident in the installation of this new midpipe.

I respect you for your honesty.
At least you're not too stubborn to admit your flaws.
Don't worry about messing up, that's how you learn.
At least you didn't buy a greenish/blackish/blueish RX8 like some people.

I probably won't be going to that either. It's a lot of cash to shell out for me at the present time when I've got a lot on my plate as it is. I guess I'll just have to wait till next year....

As I've mentioned before, I'm almost completely switched into Jeep mode now. (Almost, not entirely.) I've still got to replace the oil pump, rear main seal, fuel pump, and entire exhaust system on it before the flakes fly. I know it's a lot of work, but it's nothing compared to what I did to it in the spring of 2007. I did a whole frame off body swap and paint job....in my driveway.

ok, funny I had to mention the Browns Tickets on here...

The young lady I was going to go to the game with backed out.

So anyone on here interested?

Thursday night - Browns vs Bears. . . not good seats, but you're still at the game

EDIT:
I was watching this auction on ebay if anyone is in the market for a mazdaspeed rear strut bar. However. . . thats a big chunk of change to shell out for that.

Rear tower bar is the least effective of any suspension mods. The MS front tower strut is pretty good but there's better ways to spend money on the rear. I'm assuming you don't have a spare tire either. You'd have to remove it if you got the rear strut.

Anyone else notice that we leapfrogger the Columbus guys? Minny here we come and then there's nothing (but 10000 or so posts) stopping us from getting past Chitown!

He already has front and rear strut bars that are different than OEM.

Is there a reason why you want to uninstall what you have?

Heh. I didn't catch that. I think he's just watching it and pointing it out for other people.

And the price actually is pretty good. It's ~140 shipped new from OnlineMazdaParts. Just be better if it did something.

That seller has a pretty low rating for how much he's putting out there. I would buy that oil cap for .99 but he's charging $15 for shipping. Asshat. It's $65 on OnlineMazdaParts. That's a crapload to pay for an oil cap.

We should consider blending a meet with them and find a spot somewhere halfway between us. That way it's only an hour down and an hour up for them, could be neat to meet our not so distant neighbors.

Several of them came to the Rolex GT @ Mid-Ohio and will be going to Beaver run. Plus like John mentioned there will be the Mohican run. I think one or two of them are planning on coming up for that.

Typically MidOhio is the best place to co-mingle. We got a little crossed up this year and they showed up while most of us were in the paddock and then when the race started they were at the paddock. Next year we'll arrange a better meet up.

Well, the TC sportline nonsense I have is purely cosmetic. This MS bar mounts on the top of the rear towers where what I have bolts to the base/trunk floor.

If there is any handling difference by installing these... I haven't noticed it. But I like look. The rear bar I have now is going to serve a purpose as helping keep the sub-boxes in place.

If the price was right I could install both. The . . . umm... AutoEXE (I think thats the brand) rear brace (Those huge red pieces of steel) Hits the same contact points.

I just figured I would post it here if anyone was interested. But I agree, I don't think I would buy from this guy.

Hey John - you order your brake pads yet? I just realized last night I have a 20% off coupon from Andrews. If that place Marlon recommends can't go that low then I will be using that at Andrews. I can get you a set as well if you've decided on what you want.

I still have to order my rear ceramics. I'm considering ordering some track day brakes as well since it looks like I may do two track weekends in a row in October. Figure my brakes would be fine for one but two is gonna pretty much burn through them.

Since I want to keep ceramics for my DD and any autoX next year I may spring and that 20% is good one time only.

That place that Marlon recommended did get back to me. No prices on their website for RX8 stuff. Anywho...it was $75 for Hawk fronts and $65 for the rear I believe and they only have one brand of rotor and it was like $330 each or something like that. What kinda prices you have with Andrews?

Well... I got my Acer monitor from Woot today, then got an email from them saying that they shipped the wrong monitor.
They gave me a 20" Acer instead of the 22".
I have a couple options:
1) Return it and they'll send me the 22" monitor.
2) OR, I have the option to buy the 20" monitor for $150 and they'll send out my 22"!

Here's the thing, I don't need another monitor, so I was wondering if anyone here would like an Acer 20" LCD monitor for $150.
The model number is AL2002W.

Let me know soon so I can tell them to ship mine.
OH... and I get a free shirt from shirt.woot!

Sure - I'll do it.

Ohhhh, you probably meant install them on YOUR car. My bad

No, I'm not in the market for a monitor. Thanks for thinking of me though considering I'm looking at buying like anything else.

I'll help you out Doc.
I'm honestly no expert on shocks, but maybe enough of us can collaborate and collectively get it installed.
Plus, its a good learning experience.
