I took some video of yesterdays AX. The camera is mounted upside down. Can some of you video experts tell me how to flip the view?

ALSO, here's a link to a video from the Wilson Circuit time trial that somebody else took.

I got my trans and diff fluids changed today.
The trans took exactly 2qts and the diff was roughly 1 1/2qts
Also found my rattle was due to my exhaust manifold's heat shield AND my exhaust tips.
I tied a stainless steel wire around the heat shield to keep it from vibrating against the transmission's bracket.
On my exhaust tips, the rivets are loose and will allow it to rattle.
I wasn't motivated enough to mess with that.

The car runs better with the new plugs and I don't experience rough idles anymore.
The engine still doesn't "pull" like I would expect.
If the new coils don't fix it, I may have to get a compression test.

Most video editing programs have the ability to flip the video horizontally and vertically.
I went ahead and did it for you.
I also had to rotate it 3 degrees to straighten it out.
I decreased the audio dB so that popping sound wasn't so annoying.
Might have to come up with a soundtrack to play instead.

I saved it to my Vimeo site:
http://www.vimeo.com/1647326
Once you register with a username and password, you can download the video by navigating to the lower-right corner and clicking on "download AVI version".

tnx jon, owe you a guiness...........

any suggestions on an inexpensive video editing program.

I'm planning to use the camera to learn where i'm making some errors. That's why it's mounted where it's at. I can see my hand position and out the windshield.

I forgot to raise up the rear view mirror. I usually do anyway.

The two video editing programs I like are Cyberlink's Power Director and Magix's Movie Edit Pro.
Both are really good for the price. Or if you don't mind pirated software, I can burn you a copy!

got a couple of questions for you guys. Already did a search and found nothing of any true relevence for this.

Cleaned and vacuumed th car yesterday. Noticed on the way home from the car wash that my airbag light was on... all i can think of is that i bumped a cable under the seats somewhere and it's now registering as if something is wrong with the connection.

So today i decide to look into it as well as put my K&N filter in. Disconnected the battery, looked around under both seats, poked and prodded around but found nothing amiss with any of the connections. so i am at a loss for what's causing the light to be on.

Second issue: replaced the air filter (what a pain in the ***) and reconnected the battery. Now my DCS and TCS lights are both on. The DCS light is flashing and TCS is perma-lit. I did the whole turn the steering wheel right and left. that turned the DCS light off but the TCS is still lit as well as the airbag light. Took the car for a test drive and had no issues but i dont like seeing the lights on.

So, thoughts on how to fix this?

I can say that the airbag light comes on and stays on if something in the seat is pushing down to be light enough to be a small child. For example I had a cooler in the passenger seat with an ice block in it and it stayed on because it though a child was there.

Liked the video idea doc. Hopefully it works out for you. May have to get a ride along one of these days just based on that video alone.

That means that the passenger seat sensor is messed up then. Either the wires got loose or the switch is physically messed up. Back to the dealer for you!

Very possible... especially since you did just get done vacuuming.
I would check the wire harness.

The TCS will stay on until you turn the vehicle off and back on.
No big deal!

Must be a labor day theme or something because I changed my diff/tranny/oil this afternoon. First time for all three by myself so it was enlightening.

I used almost the exact same amounts. 2 full quarts for the tranny and about 1.5 for the diff. Which is very odd because most of the people posting amounts in the tranny/diff threads say 1.8/1.6. I wonder if that's just because people really aren't **** enough about making sure their car is level that they aren't letting enough tranny fluid escape.

Oh and the tranny/diff fluids were absolutely disgusting. And there was so much crap up against the drian plugs, in both, that I doubt the magnet was able to get anything for the last 20k miles or so. I will probably swap them again next year just to make sure it's clearing out all the fragments. My oil plug didn't have a crush washer on it so I'll probably do that myself one more time after beaver run and then go back to letting other people do it for me. Just not worth the hassle to do it myself when I can hand someone a filter and oil and let them do it for $20.

Tranny does feel a lot smoother shifting. So much so that I did a 'hesitation' move because I didn't think I'd flicked hard enough to put my car into fourth and had lifted my hand. I went back to finish the shift but realized it'd actually made it all the way in to 4th.

Also found my rattle was due to my exhaust manifold's heat shield AND my exhaust tips.
Pretty sure that the heat shield is a warrantied part. Not sure where you are with your warranty but you may be able to get it replaced. FWIW.

I tied a stainless steel wire around the heat shield to keep it from vibrating against the transmission's bracket.
On my exhaust tips, the rivets are loose and will allow it to rattle.
I wasn't motivated enough to mess with that.
Borla ftw! I'm sure the rattling is much reduced now

funny you two did your tranny and diff today. almost did had i not had issues with my lights being on.

As for turning the car off and back on... well i did try that. After i did the whole spin the wheel thing, i started the car. no change. spun the wheel accordingly with the car running and dsc turned off. the tcs didnt change though. i didn't however turn the car off and back on a third time. i simply did a test drive to check things out. Maybe in the morning it'll be reset. hope so.

As for the light, i'll run it to the dealer and see what happens after work.

Thanks for the help and input!

SEPT 12!!! cant wait!

Now when I said to turn it off and then on, I meant to start the engine (let it run), turn it off, and then next time you start the engine, the TCS light should be off.
Is this what you tried or did you simply turn the ignition on/off before starting?

I no longer have bumper-to-bumper.
Plus, its no big deal now that its tied.
When I go FI, I'll have to get a new manifold anyway.

The rattling is almost unnoticeable.
Doesn't do it at idle (which was the annoying part).
Only during a small RPM range, and even then you need to be listening for it.

originally, when i had started it, spun the wheel and the DSC turned off, i took it out for a drive to tet how it felt and make sure it was driveable. I didn't shut it down and turn it back on when i got home. However, as you said would happen, this morning the TCS light was off when i started the car.

So now all i have is an airbag light to deal with. will call the dealer this morning and get it worked out.

Yea. . . I spent yesterday under the car also...

I fought the exhaust bolts for about two hours trying different sockets, wrenches, torches to the heat the bolts+nuts off the header to the front of the cat and I could not for the life of me get it to budge. At all.

The car royally kicked my *** on this one.

I figure why waste the day so I put my Royal purple in... Buttt one of the Jack stands got in the way of my oil catch container and I spilled 40% of the used oil onto the ground.

It was just a rough day all around... Times like that really remind me that I don't really know what I am doing most of the time.

You guys have any ideas on how to tackle this exhaust issue?

I don't think I had ever woven a tapestry of profanity at that volume ever before in my life.

For some reason I remember a discussion coming up at the last meet about memory cards in phones. In case someone is in need of some they are up on woot this morning. $11.50 for 2 2GB cards shipped. You can't beat that price.

Sorry to hear that Vyndictive... though I feel your pain.
Just to clarify, you are using metric sockets, correct?
Another hint... use a breaker bar... its your friend!
And use hand soap on the grommets to get it off the hangers.
If you can't get it... I'll help you out!

LOL... I may end up buying that, I've been eyeballing this all night.
Still waiting for a good t-shirt since they gave me a coupon for a free one for sending me the wrong monitor.
