Nope. How about we try the Winking Lizard in Macedonia on Friday, 10/10? Easy enough date to remember and it's right off the 271/rt 8 split which I think makes it pretty much within 20 minutes of everyone north of Canton.

Probably my last meet of the year. Once the car goes into hibernation I don't want to see any more 8's...

10/10 works for me also. No automotive projects going late into the night/morning.

I need some advice also.
I am getting a vibration when braking. It feels like a warped rotor or something uneven in the pads. It is faster at higher speeds and slower at lower speeds. It doesn't seem to get better or worse under light or hard braking. Also, it doesn't appear to be pulling the car in any direction either.

So. . . what is your diagnosis? New pads? Or think its a rotor. There isn't any visual damage to any of the rotors ( not like Jon's rotor)

I think I'm going to need new pads before winter anyway, but If I'm going to do that, I might as well pick up some new rotors because that vibration is upsetting.

Lastly, did everyone see they're having a "deal" on short shifters? Check the classifieds if you're interested. I think I'd be getting one if I weren't looking new brakes and rotors in the face.

Take off your wheels and run your finger along your rotor to see if it's warped at all. Not sure what else could cause 'bumping' unless there was uneven wear on your pads from your rotors.

BTW - If you see a bunch of Datsun Zeds out about town this week...

Do all the rotors look "clean" meaning they have an even face/look all the way around them?
I would jack up the car and spin each wheel to see if one wheel has more resistance during a section of the rotation.
No you don't need to be braking while spinning the wheel, you can most likely feel it without (if its a rotor or caliper issue).
If you still can't figure it out, let me know and we'll setup a date to meet and I'll give it a look-over.
And if you want to change your pads, that'll be the best time too!

I think it's the Macedonia one as opposed to the Peninsula one right? Kinda like I almost went to the Lyndhurst Boneyard instead of the Broadview Hts. one.

Also I think I can make 10/10 its my fall break so i should be in town.

Right. The one in Peninsula is a little more off the beaten path and it didn't sound like they had a very good parking lot. The one in Macedonia has a big parking lot so we might actually manage to get a decent picture of all the cars. Plus it's the 'crossroads' of NE Ohio.

They do have signs that say so and if the signs say it, it must be true. And yes the parking did stink at the Peninsula one. Maybe we will attract a few new curious members it seems like every time i go up there i see at least one other 8 and the guys inside are never any of you

Steve's semi worthless update:

Figured I would post some pics of how my silly projects are going:

The Line out converter installing is kicking my ***. I was out there until I ran out of light. I haven't seen a good DIY for the LOC, so I am stuck as a good place to mount it and how exactly to tap into the speakers, etc... I'm ready to just throw money at it and make it work... which is the cowards way out, I've done all the work on this far...

Anyway, here are the new parking lights: the headlights aren't on in the first one, and the 2nd makes it look like they're red... I dunno. Looks cleaner though.

2nd pics are the box. SV are my initials... seems a little egotistical, but. . . I can always change it. Or I can leave it.

Hey Doc. How's that alignment working for you? Not sure how much time you've spent with the red machine on the highway or autox'ng but just wondering if it feels significantly different. Also if you've got a picture of what it looks like from front/back of the car.

Getting my alignment done on Friday. I plan on heavily pinging the guys doing it for info but I've never had a custom alignment and still have very little understanding of the effect of changing a particular setting. This alignment won't be for long since I'm going to need another after I do my shocks/springs over the Winter. Figure this is a chance to get my feet warm for one track weekend and for a few weeks of normal driving.

Between the alignment and the springs the car is definitely stiffer. It is a much bumpier ride in the red machine than the new one. You're welcome to ride or drive it if you wish. Since I did both at the same time, it's hard to tell what caused what.

You HAVE to ask the guys for a printout from the alignment computer. They can print it out. Don't take no for an answer. Conrads screwed me that way. I didn't know better and trusted them. I'll never go back.

And what sort of crazy and off the wall products are you making for the 8? And what sort of products have you made for other cars that would make us risk our cars on you?

Ok...so I figured out where the guy with the GG RX8 at East Gate works and left a message with a coworker for him to join us here and at the Lizard. He is one of the cooks from 5th Ave.

Don't forget everybody...this sat...Cruise for Cops in Canal Fulton with the c6c and Tuning Unlimited gang. Should be tons of fun.

LOL. My webguy Chris is a funny guy. The site is down until next week due to the restructuring of the e-commerce on the site.
