I am up in Litchfield county. My toy is a velocity 2005 red metalic RX-8, 6 speed. Got it in late July 05 and did not see another RX-8 on the road until mid August while driving up in Vermont. I have only seen about six or seven on the road since then. Nice not to have a car everyone else has! Right now my Subaru will be my main transportation until spring - unless I get a set of Blizzacks. The RX-8 spoils me - what other car can I afford to buy will handle better! Oh yea I saw one yellow RX-8 in Waterbury looks nice in yellow too.

I'm down in Stamford too and I drive my 8 all over CT, seen a couple but usually less than once a month. Silver with aero package and the clear corners. I'm in the Glenbrook area, almost up in Darien. I drive all over CT but in the winter I trash my Matrix instead. Seen a yellow on the Berlin turnpike a couple times, is it one of you?

glenbrook/service shops
Hey- just saw that there were a few more posts here. I come up to glenbrook every so often, have a few friends that live by the train station and nicks pizza. Love helens diner up there too...
Where do you take your car for getting things like tires changed out, or oil changes when its too cold outside to do it yourself? Ive been going to stamford mazda, on main st, but finally had the straw on the camels back today when they charged 50 bucks to take a look at my rim and tell me it was cracked (when it was visibly cracked).

ya I used to go to cove quite a bit but I usually bike there. I can't tell you much yet but that's good to know about stamford mazda. I actually went there last week my stepdad testdrove the speed 6, The place seems a bit shady and my friend had a bad experience trying to get a 3 there. I'm up in MA for a couple months at least and garaged there and I got a winter beater so I've been keeping the miles low, no oil change yet. I think I'll do the oil changes there since that's something dealers can't screw up usually. Did you confont them about the rim thing? I'm looking for a decent dealer around too.
There's a mazda dealer in White Plains too you might want to check them out as well it's only 15 min away.

I went so far as to include it in a list of complaints I had when the survey people called me again, during work hours- in addition to the complaint that Ive been called every time Ive ever taken my car in there despite having asked not to be on their call list. So, didn't mention the rim thing to them directly- Im going to try and get my tire changed out at the firestone down the street.
Next time I need warranty work done, Ill def give the white plains dealer a shot...

sure, I'll let you guys know how white plains is the next time I need to go.
After almost two weeks of waiting for a new rim and tires to be delivered, I had them installed at the firestone on route 1, after the bridge. the guys there were great, but I may have gotten a couple of them reprimanded after they signed for the tires I had shipped there. Didn't realize it was taboo to send tires to a tire shop to get them installed...
on a separate note, have any of you been down to the jersey meets before? are they worth an hour drive?

By the way, if you feel like having your car dented, ding'ed or scratched, take it to white plains madza.

Here
Just bought my Shinka in the fall of '05. I live in Hamden and have learned that I need a winter vehicle ASAP. I have blizzaks so its not too bad but it also doesn't help that I haven’t driven standard since I learned how to drive(~15 yrs). On a good note the rotary gets better with age so it'll be ready when I stop driving like an old broad.
