For some reason I just don't see you staying stock for long Chris. I know you say it...but once you have that customized itch it doesn't go away. I say...mmm...less than a year and that car is custom.

Sorry to hear the ordeal - glad to see things got back to normal. Congrats on your new ride - Miata's are nice driving machines, and look good especially in dark blue. I'd have the same car for a second car someday, money-permitting :o)
See you around, Chris.
PS When I got my ride 4 years ago, I could not spend more than 1 hour at Sansone because of their lies - then left straight to Wayne and got my car from Zach too :o) He's good, and so was the service manager, Steve. The only place worst than Sansone I found was Maxon Mazda on Rt.22 - people beware !

Ok I just wanted to let you guys know that the VeilSide 8 as you know it is going to be going away......i will have a huge part out thread coming up and will be giving some stupid pricing on my goodies....I will still be staying in the mazda family because they are taking care of me when it comes to the trade in, and the new car....not every one knows the whole story so i will let it be known now
When i bought my car at Sansone Mazda (Route 1 Automall) in Avenel, NJ i bought it as a new car.....or so i thought....all my paperwork said new but it had some "demo" miles on it......i was told by them (lied to) that the car had full warantee and it dont start until i title and register the car (another lie)....well it took a while but the truth was finally let out
I was recently at an event in englishtown where my car was sitting in the heat all day.....well something shorted out that morning i guess and the center dash doesnt work......no display, no radio, no heat, no air.....so i take the car to Wayne Mazda (who are great by the way) and they were about to diagnowe it and caught the warantee issue before working on it (saving me a diagnosis fee).....they told me it was in my best interest to go to my selling dealer to get them to fix it......wayne thought it might be a clerical error that Sansone did when selling the car...it made no sense that my 4/50k warantee was up if i bought the car on 02/05.....i still thought i had 8 months left
I go over to Sansone (thieves) and discuss this with the sales manager and finance manager and they told me it was not them and Mazda RDR'd the car back in 06/04 and it was a Mazda issue and not thiers (more lies).....and then they told me the car was a demo car and should never have been sold as new....(i sure as f00k paid for a new car!).....so they said as a show of good faith they would diagnose the car and if the rep allowed it they would fix it while i was there....now i am waiting for 2 hours and my car never gets moved out of the service bay from where i left it!.....I ask the service manager (Don Way) why he did nothing and he tells me because i have a body kit and guages (that have nothing to do with the short because they arent even remotely connected).....so i asked if he was even gonna look and he said NOin a stern voice......so i ask for my keys, and then leave the dealer.......
I finally get home and call MNAO and tell them the whole story......the customer service that they have is what is keeping me in the brand to be honest with you.....they handled everything with true professionalism and are taking care of me getting a new car.....unfortunately because of the fraudulent things and lies that were told to me I can not take another chance on my 04 rx-8.....so she must go......I am not going away......I will be here because i have gained not just friends but family with allot of you......so when i part out please keep in mind the dilemma i am having.......i am very upside down on my car and need to come up with out of pocket to get a new car......please try not to lowball me on my toys.....all the NE people know what condition my stuff is in and i have plenty of good guy threads to prove that you can trust me........well there it is in a nutshell

Hey Chris,
Really sorry to hear the bad news. Granted you got a sweet new car and I'm curious what you plan to do with it, but again, sorry to hear it and I totally sympathize with you as I'm STILL going through something similar right now and have been for the past 3 years with my previous mazda (Mazdaspeed Protege..Yes I'm paying for two cars right now. :/ ) But I totally hear ya, trusting dealerships can really screw you over sometimes. I really hope you have good luck with the Miata and all and everything else goes alright. Sorry again to hear the bad news..Because trust me bro, the past three years have been really tough on me. Imagine paying for a car you can't drive for 3 years? :/ Anyways, at least its fixed. Glad for the good news. Catch you soon.

Yep, hell yeah man.
At some point this summer, me and the wifey are hitting up NY. MAYBE not in my RX8, but we'll be up there, if you're interested in meeting up, you and Klepto. I'll let you know.

the beast may have been resurrected today....i went to go get my plates and met klepto at the dealer...low and behold she was in the service bay getting prepped and i overheard she was sold......keep an eyeball out...not hard to notice her with a shaved trunk and dimpled/slotted rotors

Sorry to hear that you had to let the 8 go. Was one of my favorite 8s on this forum. But the replacement is a very nice car. Test drove the same exact one while my Rx8 was in for service. Great handling and a 'fun-to-drive factor' that rivals the 8. Best of luck with the new toy.

well quick update on your former car. Kid took it out for a drive that day, but it wasnt repaired so they obviously wanted no part of it.
I wound up fixing it on wednesday.
Looks like at some point you may have had the radio center panel out? Did you try pulling it out before taking the hidden 10mm bolt out from the back?
Basically what i found was no hidden bolt in the back, no screws holding the radio panel in (under the ashtray) all that happened was that the center panel was somehow pushed forward and the contact's weren't all the way into the radio (the whole A/C radio plate plugs into the radio unit itself like an NES cartridge) Personally after looking it over it seems like someone may have tried to pry off your radio panel and broke it, there was a distinct flat blade screwdriver mark on the side of the panel. I know you said you had it at a show, so just something to think about. All i did was take off the ashtray and push the face back on and everything came back to life.
Wound up "finding" a new radio panel and installing it in the car since there were cracks on your original one (im guessing from someone prying, found screwdriver marks)
So yea, basically it was just disconnected, only thing really requiring replacement was because it was cracked.
But your car is now in the front line for sale, motor was feeling pretty strong when i took it for a test drive, so hopefully someone will enjoy her. I'll try to keep an eye out to see when she sells and find out who buys her.
