Question Big Changes at Rosenthaw Mazda "people getting canned"

In the last month at Rosenthaw, all the Mazda service writers are no longer working there. Then yesterday I call the Mazda service manager and he no longer works there, Anyone know whats going on over there?

cant say that I know for sure what is going on but I can say I have noticed the same thing

I spoke with the GM and the head service manager over there last week because their service dept started giving me the run around about some very basic service. He blammed the problems on a whole slew of new people starting work there in the past couple months but wouldnt go into any detail as to why the sudden changing of the guard.

This better not be a permanent change for the worse though....my first few trips there for service left me raving about their competence and handling of customers (especially when compared to some of the horror stories read on this forum) but this last trip left a horrible sour taste in my mouth. It ended up taking them 3 days to replace my front brake pads (per TSB...back ones on order) and perform the 7500 mile service after they originally quoted me 3 hours. I wouldnt be suprised if I got atleast one or two people "canned" over there as a result of my converstations with the GM and this debacle.

I was dealing with a perticular service advisor and he wrote down on a RO that my car had a scratch on the bumper before the work was done. This was completely false and I made a huge issue about it in the service lane. The Manager spoke with me and after I showed him how they did the damage they offered to paint it. Of course I said no way, if I can't trust you to replace a tail light assemble without damaging my car, how can I trust you to paint it? The advisor was never very good at handling my issuses. I was in the car business for 8 years before I became a loan officer for a mortgage broker. So I have a hard time accepting b-s.

sorry to hear about that! certainly doesnt sound very kosher to me!

acedotal extension on my story about last week:

I get a call back on the 3rd day from the head service manager who says my car is done is being rolled outta the service bay. He offers to have sent down the street to be detailed, top to bottom front to back. I hesitated and started to refuse just cause I had been without my baby for 3 days at this point and was starting though withdrawl. But he reassures me it will be done before I get there and that the utmost care will be taken with the car yadda yadda yadda. I give in cause no one really wants to wash and detail their car in 30 degree weather.

Get to the service lane an hour or so later, they pull my car up and guess what?? not a damn thing has been cleaned I didnt even get a wash and vaccum as is to be expected with the full-circle service.....worst part is the service techs had made a feeble attempt to grease up all the latches, hinges, etc but got more cr@p on the body and especially the trunk carpeting than anywhere else. Of course the service manager was already gone for the day at this point so I sit down in the service lane and write a note to the GM and slip it under his door before I leave in my very un-detailed car. Got a call from the GM bright and early the next morning and I now have 2 years of free oil changes and filters courtesy of the service manager being an huge D-bag! It's all about who you deal with and frankly I'm calling the GM direct from now on to schedule my service!! :p

who was your service manager?
I've had some issues as well, but nothing like some on this forum. On my 7500 service they were supposed to rotate my tires, well when steve m. pulled my car after 4 hours of waiting( i just moved here) and told me it was done, the tires hadn't been touched and i quickly pointed this out and the problem was fixed.
They also didn't fix my passenger side window switch light, which the WO said it did. So..........maybe a talk with the GM is due next time.

Also, I wonder if these "cannings" are in response to the horrible service/dealer ratings for mazda that came out a few months ago.

Steve does not work there anymore. I just found out when I took my car in yesterday for my 15k service. Don't know anything about the guy because I never dealt with him (he was on vacation the last time I took my car in . . . and I wont go into the horror story of how i was dealt with at that time). This is the first time taking my car back to Rosenthal after my first experience with their service department about nine months ago. All I can say is if they canned the service writer with and service manger that was there then, I understand why. The new guy Chris seems to be a decent guy and took care of my car. Lets hope this is a sign of good changes all around there.

Oh, and I got the front brake pads changed without a problem. I had to keep the car there overnight because he seat back cover had to be ordered (also a TSB). Today he said that it will be Monday before the part comes in and I can keep the loaner until then. I couldn't bear the thought of being without my 8 for 4 days straight - even though they gave me a nice Explorer to use while it was there. So I'll have to take her back in on Monday when the part gets in.

Yeah Rosenthal is the worst dealer to buy/service a car. I hate that place with a passion. Steve Miller always bullshitted me and Steve Matzganis is a totaled ******* P.O.S! If I ever meet that guy in person I will curb check that ****!

1.) I pre-order my 8 give them 2000 in cash.
2.) they told me my car would be in on july sometime.
3.) It did not get order because they "lost" my deposit
4.) tryed to make me pay them another 2000 dollars but I still had my copy of the work order
5.) Car comes in w/out the stuff I order
6.) P.O.S GM gives me a 2500K service. What in the **** is that?
7.) then offers me free oil changes I told the *** hole I get it free! because of the bs hp claim.

this could go on all day but you get the idea

yeah I got dicked around on my '05 order in sales, but haven't had a problem with service yet, other than the fact that it took them a week to replace the power steering module.
