Well, I wasn't looking for a Shinka...I was at the dealership getting a new key done (that was a mess....know anyone selling the top part of a switchblade key? The part with the alarm on it?)

And there was a copper colored (not sure what the correct name of the color is) Shinka there. Wow, I love the seats in it!!

Well, you don't absolutely *need* a winter car. I have yet to get one because I seem to be broke at all times. It’s just that some other little front or four wheel drive thing would do better (the 8 does ok with snow tires).

Which reminds me: Change your location. You're not in a sunny fantasy land anymore. You're in the gritty realism that is New England filled with rude angry cold people. Welcome! You'll be assimilated. I was nice once; I came here from Arizona. Now I'm a cantankerous *******.

j67345- were you at Morande a couple weeks ago getting your key done? I thought I saw a light colored 8 with a california plate in that service drop off area. It was pretty early on a Saturday morning i think

Yup, that was me! 8am a couple Saturdays ago. That was frustrating...I bought a key from someone on the boards here...and it turns out it wasn't an RX-8 key. Bummer!! Were you getting work done on your car?

Yeah I was getting an oil change and brake TSB done. What do you think of the level of service there?

Overall, I thought the service kind of sucked....the guy trying to help me with the key was real cool...he looked all over the place to try to find the remote part of an 8 key that he could swap to help me out. Actually, I told my wife there are some 8's out here, and she said she saw you pull in. She said she saw a black 8 pull into the service area...that's pretty ironic!

Man, that key thing sounds like a pain, sorry they couldn't get it worked out.

Actually the minute I left the dealer after buying mine, I saw a yellow one over near Adams st in Manchester. It was the first one I can remember seeing around here. Since then I've only seen yours, 1 white one, 1 silver, and 1 red. Maybe I'll notice more now that I'm looking for them

There definitely aren't very many of them out here....I've seen a yellow one and a red one since I moved here. It's funny...in California I'd see 5 or 6 a week...I'd see at least one Ferrari and a few Lotus per week (there was a Lotus...and other exotics dealership a couple miles from my house).

I haven't seen anything out here yet!

8s don't sell well up here. Nor do other little fun things. Winter puts a stop to that. So we have boring rich people with SUVs, Volvos, Saabs, Audis, Mercs and Bimmers. Damn.

OK, I'm going to England. I'll be back in a couple of weeks to revive this thread from the ashes. It seems CT people are greatly understated (no pun intended, although this is a small state...). I'll post when I'm going to be at John Harvards. Anyone going to the exotic car show in NH? (It’s a sticky in NE forum). I'm reasonably sure I'm going.

I'm in Bristol Connecticut, but living in Farmington for the next week or two.

If anyone wants to put together a cruise night or something, I'd definitely be down.

On my way to work today (Hartford) I saw a Red 8 on the 84. I think that might only be maybe the 6th one I've seen since moving here!

I am returned from the U.K. where I saw 4 RX-8s in the first few hours there. I spotted many more thereafter (18) and clearly it is a much more popular car over there than it is in New England.

Anyhow, I am returned and will likely be at John Harvards Brew House in Manchester the Friday after next if anyone wants to have a quick meet up.

Mortal Moxie: Sounds good. Is Manchester within your range? Stop by John Harvard’s: they have good food and good beer.

vipertin: You should bring your yellow. The mysteriously named j67345 and Calvin Coolidge fan cquinn have expressed interest.

We may be able to have a good group by next Friday.

hmmmmm....I didn't check the plates out. I was in my Pathfinder, so I pretty much blended in with every other car on the road.

Is there a better Mazda dealership out here than that one across the street from the Big Y (I think it is called Miranda or something?) I had my car in there last week to get the newest flash and a few TSB's....they are pretty rude over there, and I'm not sure they have a clue of what they are doing with the 8's. I'd rather find a better one, if there is one....any good recommendations for me?

j- check out Tony March Mazda or Liberty Mazda, both in Hartford. I've never been to either, but they are the next closest dealers I can think of.

Which TSB's did you have done at Morande? I've brought my car there a couple times and they've been nice. I didn't ask about the flash last time I was in and they did it anyway

I miss Capitol Lunch. I take trips out there just for their hot dogs sometimes.

We should organize a CT Meet and road trip.

Right. I'll be at John Harvard's in Manchester at around 7:30pm this Friday. Good place to have a few and eat if you're into that sorta thing. We could start there. Anyone able to make it?

Also, anyone going up to the exotic car show in NH on Saturday? I'll likely be heading up early with a friend of mine. (Early = ~7:30am or 8:00am if I'm out too late on Friday night.) Might have lunch at Newicks while we're up there.

Nah lets set something further out there. So we can have time to set a route, pick a place to eat. A full day road trip or something. ya know?

I've setup some meets before that had awesome results.

When I had my old MX6 I coordinated a meet that over 60 MX6's showed up to. It was pretty sweet. Once we all met we cruised the Berlin turnpike and stopped somewhere to eat. I cant remember. But the turnout was good.

Im gonna make a post on it soon. I'll pick a date atlaest a month out.

Could use some help from somone. Promoting it, spreadin the word, helping to pick a good road trip route etc.
